Further, the Los Angles Times supported the Growers, and they also did not support Cesar Chavez or the Border Patrol. And those WERE days when the crops were sprayed while the illegal aliens were in the field picking, or hoeing.. or something. It was a contemptible disregard for life and those growers are not people you want to get to close to.

Illegal immigration was not the issue at the time and the circumstances were very different from what they are today. I'm sure that if he was alive today, he would be fighting for the rights of undocumented immigrants and for Comprehensive immigration reform. But you brought a very good point!!!
