What is enlightenment? Not satisfied with what you have found?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature.Let the spiritual revolution begin THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM
The best example I know of that captures the non-commercial tribal magic of what was happening here (I live in SEA) back in the early '90's. Absolutely beautiful.
@Dagaman64 Check out the Wellwater Conspiracy albums, they feature Matt on lead vocals... Very psychadelic, come to think of it "Mind Riot" could fit very well on any of them :)
While Soundgarden plays a Mind Riot in this case with a bit of a different, I have always thought that the studio version of this song sounds a lot like a Led Zeppelin track with Chris Cornell singing instead of Robert Plant. Just my opinion, this is one of the MANY songs I look forward too when it comes up while listening to BadMotorFinger.
Desepcionado de que no haya en youtube prueba de que Matt Cameron toque la batería de esta canción como en el album, aquí se va por la tengente. Mind riot es la mejor canción en batería que he oído y el Badmotorfinger el mejor album.
I totally agree with you, although when I tried to harmonize my strings to play this song, the B string came off and whipped the back of my fretting hand :D
Sitting here like uninvited company... Wallowing in my obsenity... Share a cigarette with negativity...
Leaning on the pedestal that hold's my self denial... Firing the pistol that shoots my holy pride... Sitting here like wet ashes with X's in my eyes, and DRAWING FLIES!..
I saw this tour in Portland OR. Cornell admonished the audience for holding up lighters; "We're not fuckin' Journey." Monster Magnet and Kyuss also played.
No idon't think so. IMO this song is about being lost in life. BTW as important as Andy was I'm sure Chris had other experiences in his life other than his death to write about.
Regardless of what anyone says, in modern rock, this song has NO EQUAL!
The lyrics convey a sense of desperation and near-collapse, and the MUSIC captures the essence of that despair so perfectly. I don't think I've ever heard a song that is so subtle and so powerful at the same time.
But it is not for anyone! "A man has no ears for that to which experience has given him no access."
People who superficially live life can't truly hear this song; only people who EXPERIENCE life can.
I remember buying Badmotorfinger, and hearing this song for the first time. It pretty much blew my mind. It's one of my favorite Soundgarden songs ever.
yeah man, youre right i remember that i just have heard outshined and was like jumpings tracks with the record, then i put that awesome track 9.. oh fuck i just explode and wake up in other world.. fucking good song! my favourite of all time
and even matts lyrics are perfect i think it sounds cool
i have the mp3 of Outshined, Rusty Cage, and Slaves & Bulldozers (which has a few other lyrics added in such as a verse from pearl jam's alive) of this same exact performance. very cool and arguably in my opinion their best live show
every string is tuned to E. try and make a song like this with such limitations.

I think it's: "IF SATAN LIVED IN HEAVEN HE'D BE DEAD"

I kind of like it actually, slows it down and seems less busy-plus its different. But thats just me-
soundgarden21 2 years ago
I feel the simpler drumming in this live version takes away from the song (i.e. the album drumming makes the song much more intense)
anyone agree? disagree?

Slaves and bulldozers is an amazing song but this song is extraordinary nothing comes close to the creativity of this song on this album.

This really is the greatest song created, in my opinion. The slowed down back up singing by Matt Cameron sounds great here.
