Flatliners are pretty damn good but I could think of seberal bands that sound like them. Punk is just never original sounding amymore. And I couldn't give a fuck on fat mikes opinions on punk. But I'm not cynical about current music. There's always something new to hear you just need to listen. Don't get stuck on the labels or what mainstream thought its supposed to sound lik. Once it was labeled it began dying. I love punk more than anything even music.

Having flashbacks of my youth, going to punk rock shows, playing in bands, skateboarding ramps, living by my own rules, supporting only myself, living 'professionally single', going to college, working hard, partying harder in the simple and good ways that is should have been and was... I love my life now, but the friends I lost I still mourn (stupid suicides, drugs, wrecks) and the friends I let go.. It's not them I miss as much as MYSELF and WHO I WAS. Reminds me of when I was a senior at MCHS, used to skate down to 16th in HB, hang out with Adam and Justin. Just chill on the strand, listen to chili peppers, DK, and other old punk albums. Yeah and I spit on Fall Out Boy but I'm not so sure about punk being dead. We still have some good punk rock, Bad Religion is still alive, so are NOFX and other bands like that. Rise Against, which is mainstream, still has some brilliant lyrics. I think the genre might survive, and hopefully, the emo wave will not. Propably not in fact, since they cut themselves and shits. No but seriously I hold on to hope.

I think their last album is not that bad, they still have a couple of songs that sound just like their old ones, don't you think? I mean, if you look at an old band like The Descendents, their first to last album, 1996, they sound a lot more mainstream than they used to, but I think it's a natural band evolution. That's also true for NOFX
