  • @dynomitis: Yes, the ads started in the 60's, but many of them--as well as newer ones with Kid and Sue getting new designs each time--appeared in color by the 80's.

  • @dynomitis: Not really. Outside of a few, many of the older ads were re-run in color, as opposed to black and white.

  • @MyKrimsonUrchin: Yeah and I doubt they'd want to. It's not like Cheerios (Kid) or spinach (Popeye) would actually give you super-human strength. It's just a promotional tool, just like The Kid and Sue are basically humanized versions of Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, in a way.
