loved this film when I was a kid! super cheesy and stupid, yet so classic. scared the shit out of me when i saw it! this German version is so funny, although they did kill the original English pun, "Frights, camera, action!"
They kill almost every pun on German, but SOMETIMES they make new ones, in "Young Frankenstein" they made some scenes EVEN funnier than in the original, which almost never happens ^^
Well, in one scene where Igor says "Walk this way" and Fred realizes that it's not ment like that (He walks like having a hump) and then walks on normally, in the German version Igor says "Sehen Sie mal, sie müssen so geh'n, gehen sie so!" and then off-screen "Sie gehen ziemlich krumm!" which I found hilarious xDD
well, doesn't that kind of kill the joke? I've never heard "Gehen Sie so" in Germany. Having lived there a year, though not being a native speaker myself, I'd rather expect "Gehen wir hin." well, it just strikes me as a bit forced...
Sure, but instead of only killing the joke - Which they would have done anyway - They created a new one ^^ And it's in the eye of the beholder of course, but it's both hilarious imo ^^
