Get some cfls up in that niz. They use like 1/6 the energy and actually provide light that the plants can use for photosynthesis. Google it bro, incandescent lights are bad news. Do you know how your friend sprouted that orchid? I just got a really good germination rate on my passiflora edulis. Nicked seed coat, soaked in water 24hr, planted 1/'2 inch in very light and wet soil for 3 weeks, finally put in heating pad and watered again. Almost all sprouted 3 days later.
