@ParalizedTime Unfortunately, using straight HTML does not allow you to dynamically change the page based on differing events. If you want the sidebar to change, you will need to do so for every page. However this can be easily tackled with the use of PHP.
(you need to install PHP and make sure it is offered with your hosting services, if it applies to your situation.)
@GreekGunna26 Dreamweaver makes the code as you design. I use Dreamweaver because its a very nice IDE(Integrated development environment), with fabulous highlighting. Dreamweaver also displays a view of what the HTML looks like before it is pushed to the real website. My tutorial uses code entirely, don't worry.
@NarutoFanMissingNin Depending on how your website server is configured, you would most likely need an FTP program, possibly FileZilla or straight ftp commands in cmd. Once your site is open, adding the HTML sidebar is just a matter of copy and pasting code. Upload the file to the server and refresh your web browser(F5).
@pspbrian Well I didn't pay for it. I just did something illegal to get it, I justify not spending $400 on the program for teaching people how to use it and the educational purposes of it. If you want more info on the subject please private message me.
I'm using notepad for the code (becuase I'm practicing for an assignment coming up at school) does the tutorial you have posted work in notepad, or do I need a particular software?
@opticalo23 You can use notepad for this, the only advantages to this program, Dreamweaver, are that you can upload the files to your server and that you can see your progress visually, as well as some other features. When you save the file in notepad make sure you put quotations around your filename, save it as an .html file, something like "index.html". If you have anymore questions just ask!
Dude this hella helped me man thx. XDDDDDDDDDDDDD You should see what I made with your information. I'll put a video response soons. As soon as im done with it.
@TheTigerTutorials Thanks and my dad stopped me so here's wat I have right nao. And I dont have a domain and I dont feel like makin a vid right nao so Ima just give you my mediafire link.
every time i attempt to use this it never acquires the color attributes. Not sure why the no text decorations will work but the color ones won't. help would be appreciated.
I have full scripts of the CSS and HTML used in the video, both in the vertical and horizontal forms on my website (link in the description).
Are you having troubles with embedding the CSS within the HTML to make the HTML change?
