  • awesome! i am working on getting one of those

  • I have watched most your videos and your cub turned out dream great I bought a 123 hydro with the same intentions and was curious what kind of primer you used on the frame and small engine brackets and generator etc. and the kind of paint you used? and any other hints on the details on how you painted it

  • @dieselperformance17

i used autozone filler primer on most everything ,

cub yellow from cub dealer and

international harvester white from tractor supply .

keep watching , i show everything i use for paint

  • basically a u joint for tractors

  • @carkid100

    yep , basically .

  • Hey 500, would you happen to know what kind of oil a 109 takes? I got one today for free. If not I'll google it. Thanks.

  • @mrtalkative89

    i just use 10 w 30

  • that is a sweet looking cub there. question for ya what are those 10-12 hp kohlers worth non running, but complete with carb and starter generator?

    thanks for your time

  • @skiddy8619

im not sure what there worth buddy ,

i think the carbs worth 50-75 bucks if it works

and i seen a good starter sell for around a 100.

depends on how bad somebody wants it , check ebay and see

what other people are charging :)

  • dude 500 your cub will turn out just like this one dont worry you do a helluva good job 5 stars :)

  • thanks man , mine is getting pretty close to his :)

  • Just awesome!!

  • @123electricman

    thanks buddy :)

  • Randy's cub looks great, I've got a perfect 1967 cub 124 original engine with only 150 hours on it. The older gentleman i got it from was a close famely friend, he bought it new in 67 off the showroom floor. He took it home put 145 hours on it and went and bought a new one, parked this one in his barn. Need to get a video of it up if I ever get around to it, do a before and after on it. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.

  • thanks buddy :)

  • wow! that thing hauls! im 145 and im gonna find a nice old lawn tractor, fix it up, make it go fast, and put a plow on.

  • cool , good luck with your project :)

  • IM SHOCKED. thats the nicest Cub I've ever seen!!!

  • thanks buddy , mines getting close to that now :)

  • Looks awesome!!!!

  • thanks

  • i have a cub cadet, don't know the year.i've been told it's a 68?has a 8 hp kohler, three speed tranny with high low.and some kind of manual three pont hitch .i would love to rebuild it to origional.if anybody has info, contact me.

  • you should get on cubs website with your serial number.

    it will tell you everything

you can see parts schematics and everything for free .

  • is that 108 have a briggs or kohler

  • yeah its a 108 , its a kohler

  • WOW!!!!! I guess thats what my 2 108 once looked like!!!!

  • thanks , but they dont even look that good from the factory .

we get a lot more gloss out of our paint . :)

    mines getting pretty close now

  • i have a 1964 100 that i just painted but i wish it looked as good as randys

  • keep watching , mines getting closer to randys every day

  • ha, that thing really moves! nice cub

  • thanks joe , they dont make em like they used to

  • Yeah the cub gear drives really cruise!

  • what would that be worth when its in good shape, like everything works good? but not painted and perfect like your doing to it

  • you should be able to find one for 200 - 500 bucks depending on what shape its in .

but i doubt you can find one this old that isnt wore out and need a lot of work.

  • You'd be surprised.

You can actually find a lot of them that are in good shape, just remember to check the key areas, Engine, Starter Generator, Transmission, PTO and Fuel Tank.

  • how much did you buy this tractor for??

  • it was free from my tractor buddy tony , but he paid $200

  • ya i watched all of ur loader project vids and ya were think bout gettin a 100 thats tottaly in horbbile condinton it runs fine has a creeper gear rear lift headlights rear fenders we still might get it for around 350-450 it would make a real nice tractor if it was restored but it will take 1-2yrs of hard work the hood is rusted

  • Depending on how much rust and cleaning you really have to do, If you spend 3 hours a day working on it, with moderate amounts of rust, It will take you about 3-5 months.

  • id be goin to him for my pain jobs if he was around my area

  • ya i got a cub cadet 128 for pullin stuff around the yard and pullin stumps and some small trees out but did he paint his with a spray gun

  • definitely spray gun , hvlp spray gun to be exact , keep watching , my paints getting pretty close.

you should check out my wheelhorse videos,

in my # 6 video i show everything it takes to get that paint job

  • I just got a 128 that I'm restoring.

Check out my videos and youll see my first restore video.

  • wow that is nice i did have a 108 but sold it to get a 1282 red cub cadet

  • thanks , randy does nice work , he taught me how to paint nice , im still learning , but im gonna try to make mine just as nice .

  • Have you gotten a new Coil Yet?

    I have a coil I'm willing to sell from a 129.

  • Randy has a nice tractor!! Excellent condition! wow

  • 500, Does Randy Youtube?

    John

  • no john , hes old school.

i look up stuff for them , i made him dvd of this one.

  • FAST!!!

  • hes got a skull and crossbones sticker instead of a rabbit on the throttle

  • Man, first off, NICE LAWN! ...and about the loader, it'll be a great project. It will come in handy after diggin' holes. Can't wait for the end results. : )`

  • thanks man , i dont do anything special to the lawn ,

we just had a lot of rain lately .

i had to plant the tall grasses for a little privacy, hide all my projects from bitchy neighbor behind me calling the county complaining.

  • that thing hauls @**

  • i know , my new toro doesnt go half that fast

  • Dang!

At first , I thought you just whipped out can of restore on the CC129!

Randy's 109 looks like it is better than mint condition!

I can't wait too see the 129 in action.

Ask Randy how many cold beers it took to put that CC109 into a museum quality show mower.

    L8R,

    John

  • im not sure how many hours he had in it , but he painted it 9 yrs ago . that says something for his hardened enamel painting he taught me , hes the master im just an apprentice when it comes to painting

  • Damn I had no idea this resto-tractor sub culture existed...your friend does work so good I don't see a way to even drive it without putting a blemish on it....your loader version is going to something else

  • yeah, i didnt either , he dont ever mow with it , i probably rode it more on video than he ever does.

i think the appeal of restoring these is you can do it at home and its not as expensive as a hot rod or something.

  • are you going to build our own bucket for it

  • yes sir , definitely gonna build it myself , thats the easy part to me ,

but i got to get the dang tractor running first : )

  • nice heavy built tractor for the loader project. you got a manual for her? like the one you had for the sears?

  • thanks ring , no manual , but i can look up schematics online i think and my tractor buddies can name every part i need from memory .

  • I'm confident if you want it turn out like Randy's, it will. Can't wait to see more videos on it.

  • randy sets the bar pretty high , im not sure im ready to snatch the pebble from his hand grasshopper.

im gonna try my best but since mine might see some work .

im not gonna get to carried away making it a show piece .

just nice & clean and running strong

  • that shock absorber thingy thats cloth like is a coupling, then thing behind it is the coupling arm

  • cool

  • cubs are tough to restore

  • why do you think that ??, gettin parts or working on it? ,

cub still sells decals for these old ones , when i heard that i figured parts wouldnt be a problem . plus i got two tractor buddies who find stuff before i realize i need it

  • not that its hard its just tough remembering where everything goes, the wheel horse has like only a couple parts and arent very complicated. It took me and my dad 4 months to restore the 106

  • 4 months aint to bad , id be happy with that schedule.

yeah , a big box of parts can get a little confusing , im juggling two or three boxes , lol . oh well . ill get her done
