I really want to know the title of the second so bad lol! I was hanging with Left Alone, and Elvis Cortez started to sing this song with one of Baltimore's ska bands, the Players.
I think this scene is abaout a very exact phenomena. The guy wanted to see his friend, to spend some time together. There was nothing to discuss, nothing to worry about. He just wanted to be with a friend. And that's all. That's why he rolled PAIRS with the dice I think.
People think they have to talk and talk and talk all the time. Why? :) That's what this scene is all about.. well, for me at least :)
the scene is about tension. the background music reeks of tension. the dice rolls... and its doubles THREE times!!! three cups of coffee... will someone drink it? the conversation... its TENSE man! the facial expressions... tension. im too tense to name any more.
can't figure out what Jarmusch was really trying to convey with this scene....with the 3 cups of coffee, the rolling of doubles three times with the dice....the constant badgering of the protagonist character (the man with the dice) by the antagonist character (the friend)......it's simple yet so interesting....Jarmusch is a master....
