one question. after removing e thumb drive u forced switched the laptop off.. but then when u started it it loaded dell and ur desktop pops up... did you disable the rest of the boot stuff coz ur deskti ooped up real super fast!

hmm I have a old ibm laptop with a 800 mhz cpu

I like it because it's a 12" X21 and is tiny but it's just too weak to run modern windows with a modern browser

maybe android will run at a reasonable speed

So... You can do all that with the virtual Machine and all, but for some reason you cant figure out how to do a screen capture video? The pointing the camera at the highly reflective screen is top notch there buddy. Top notch..

Using VirtualBox instead of VirtualPC to do this allows networking to work as well as the standard boot option.

Just choose Other and Other OS settings.

I got Android on my laptop, got an installer on my desktop when i got it (Acer aspire one) The only "market" you can use is Insyde market.. and it kinda blows.. but som developers port theire apps for market to work with the insyde market.

To download Oracle Virtual Box, just search it on google, it is free.

I've tried it yesterday on Oracle Virtual Box, and It worked just fine! It has a lot better linux support, I recommend trying it out. I was able to install on the virtual hard drive, but couldn't boot from it.

I get internet access, and I can install apps from the app store included in the iso.

The only downside is I can't install any market apps because I haven't figured out how to mount an SD card on the virtual machine. The included one doesn't work.

@GrowingOp Android on a netbook doesn't make sense to me. Apps and Games are designed around having touch and g sensor capability. I think Chrome OS makes more sense for Netbooks and Android is the right choice for tablets and phones.
