my all time favorite song by one of my favorite top 3 bands that ever existed. this song, now 14 years after hearing it for the first time, still moves me....puts a real lump in my throat. such a perfect marriage of melody, tone, and needing. Mark Kozelek is simply brilliant
I went through a ten-year depression in which i amassed an enormous collection of sad songs in all time periods and genres, and although I generally enjoy my life now, I must say that not a single song in the world stabs me in the heart the way this one (still) does.
