Matilla oli ihan omanlaisensa lentotyyli. Hän lensi ikään kuin leijana, sukset siirtyivät lennossa oikealle ja vartalo otti vasemmalla kyljellä toisen lentopinnan. Sen hyöty oli noin 50 prosenttia v-tyylistä, eli jos Nykänen olisi omaksunut V-tyylin, olisi mäkimonttuja pitänyt kaivaa paljon syvemmiksi kuin nykyään. Matin ponnistus oli aivan ylisuper, hän malttoi antaa ponnistuksen eteenpäin vievän voiman odottaa kummulle asti, kunnes otti loppulentoasennon.

actually..he did become an alcoholist..and he first tryed to sell his medals but no1 wanted to buy them..so he gave them to some sport museum in Finland
