  • This is enjoyable and a treat...however since tyher eis so few versions of Elton singing this on professional video..i wish Elton had done this solo...

  • Great one...simply and the sad feeling works..maybe i still got feelings..These pals knows the work...they got it inside...

  • Two huge Satanist! Don't think so? Don't believe me! Look around!

  • I agree with Elton, my favourite songs of his are not his hits, with a couple of exceptions. And I like most of his hits.

  • Beautiful. Each of them are one of my favorite artists. Wonderful to see them together singing a tune from one of my all-time favorite albums, Tumbleweed Connection.

  • This is like a Family Guy sketch where they're exaggerating the superfluous ridiculousness of Sting's voice- except it's real. Wow. What a disgrace.

Also the drums make it too heavy, though I'll put that more down to preference. The lyric is lonesome and hopeless, not spirited or keen. And there's no irony in upping the melody, like in 'I Think I'm Gonna Kill Myself.'

  • Two Rooms version is gorgeous but this is pretty good too! Sting can sing anything but this song's almost like a Sting song it suits him so much!

  • I like the original and the version from Two Rooms, but that sax in the background throws a wrench in the works for me.

  • Not as good as the original., but pretty awesome nevertheless.

  • Ahhh.......had never seen this before, thanks! Two of my heroes.....singing my all-time favorite ever song... who could ask for more?! xo

  • AWESOME! SUPERB SONG!

Eltons' Americana take on TC rules however.........much more emotive range than Sting.

  • rare and excellent

  • de lo mejor

  • Sounds like they've also roped in Kenny G to do this one. Not a good version of the song at all. A good song, great in fact, but nothing good added to it here.

  • stings sounds like a karoke singer here. just terrible.

  • the slower tempo on Sting's cover works better.

  • Elton isn't the typical screaming solo pianist, His real genius was in the way he put notes together to create chord combinations (many arpeggiated). He developed a sound that was uniquely his and you could always recognize an Elton John song even when he wasn't singing. Well sung by Sting, too.

  • I had owned Tumbleweed Connection for 20 years but didn't think this was such a great song until Sting covered it. Even when I go back to Elton's version, I still think Sting owns the song LOL.

  • I love staring at Sting when he's singing. So sexy...

  • molto elegante musica !

  • Yes, the original is still the best (hey, Elton's band had a little to do with THAT) but I think it's really cool that a superstar like Sting would say this is one of his favorites, too. How many superstars ever admit that in public ?? I'll answer that. NONE.

  • Ugh. The original is far better.

  • thanks for this great post best song ever

  • The norwegian jazz artist Radka Toneff has the absolute best version!

  • It's brilliant to hear the original arrangement here! I wasn't expecting that! I thought it'd just be the piano!

  • such great words from elton. amazing

  • Awesome performance. I really love the version that appeared in the Two Rooms record, so watching it live is simply terrific.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful lyrics, beautiful singers. Thanks!

  • the lyrics on this song are just awesome and sting delivers 100%

  • strangely I like stings version beter on 2rooms

  • great duet!!! I love hearing their voices together though (or maybe because) they're so different.

  • Great!!! Thanxxx a lot!!!! :-)

  • thanks! this is great! :)

  • quelle bonne idée ce duo Sting/Elton..
