No integrated amplifier? get a integrated amplifier for just music listening, no multi channel home theater receiver will ever sound as good as a 2 channel integrated amp.
It's not a Audiophile grade system, get rid of the Ipod, mp3 means loss of detail due to compression. Get a SACD player, like a Sony ES or Denon makes some good one and a good turntable and some better speakers, then you will have a serious system. You really don't need a tube amp, but does sound warmer, but even in a mastering room, we just use a few Pro audio QSC amp's, which does the job. Denon makes good A/B class receivers, so no need to upgrade unless the speakers you get need more power.
Audiophile?, really?, something to keep in mind, IPOD (NO SQ), and does not equate to anything Audiophile, and an amplifier should not just "glow" but heat your house. Where's all the tubes? At best, I would call this a "nice modest sound system", but never "Audiophile"
@wilow2319 This Video is now 2 years old, I now have the Denon ASD-11R iPod Dock with a better cable to the reciever. I'm waiting till my Dad upgrades his cables again, then I can take his old ones ;)
This is a decent, mid-fi system, but certainly not 'audiophile'. Also, music sourced from portable MP3 players like an iPOD, Zune, or Sansa will NOT sound nearly as good as an HDCD or SACD player (even conventional 'redbook' CD's that are recorded and mastered well). Nonetheless, Denon makes good stuff. I see you have a Denon receiver. Nice!
@AudiophileTubes Check out the new System, for a better look. I also have a denon Ipod dock which certainly helps the sound quality.. I do a lot of listening from my DVD player still.
@lizardmannnn... I would go for it... Especially listening to music.. These paradigms will sound better than bose.. Not that they are bad.. But paradigm is another level. also what subwoofer do you have?
Just an Update... I know have the Paradigm Titan Monitors.. they have a lot more kick in the low and mid range... so its slowly becoming less, and less budget.. haha.. But I don't care...its my money...
@macain94 would this be a good addon for a bose 5.1 system? I would be throwing the standard bose frount speakers in the rear for 7.1 and these in the frount. Or would that be a bad idea?
definitely, he's a true audiophile by playing music off his iPod. I'm 'better' though. I use car subwoofers in my bedroom and it sounds 'incredible'. ultra sarcasm. I'm a basshead.
Are you serious, This is what you called budget audiophile gear. This setup is very respectable for a budget audiophile. Logitechs are for teenagers who only listens to noise and not music. Plus the ceative x-fi sound card isn't meant for high quality music anyways.

@jjrosaria2 I HATE my x-fi sound card. it adds harmonic distortion around kHz if you equalize the bass...
For Hi-fi purposes, I use my Numark DJ|IO
