please explain :
when you are aligning at 1:17 what is the camera looking at ?
if it is the solder balls how can the camera see beneath the chip ?
from above the body of the chip is in the way & from below the pcb is in the way.

@donnyab Its looking at the Pads on the mainboard, so it knows where to place the chip exactly when it goes down.

@donnyab thanks to an optical splitter, the camera "see" both the IC and the PCB pads superimposed! ... it looks magic, ehh? :-)
