The girl was a princess of the Ming dynasty and the guy was her fiance. Her country was occupied and her father (the Emporer) had committed suicide. The Emporer of the Ching dynasty wanted to use her to show their kindness to the country. However, it would be a shame for the princess to be used by the new dynasty. So they decided to commit suicide in the wedding ceremony which was held by the Ching dynasty.
The movie was shooted on 1950's and both of them actually are famous actress (female).
Liza wang???? Thanks....she can't even get the movements right let alone sing. A few years ago, she was even trying to emulate the biggest 'doa ma dan' or female warrior, Jue Lai Chun, but of course Liza couldn't even control any of the props...
I don't think Liza wang could sing Cantonese opera. She can't get the tune or feeling right. Only people don't know cantonese opera think she is good. No one could sing better than 任白.

I don't think there is a version that yam pak did (these two actors) that had eng subs, but I believe their apprentices' version does have subtitles
