  • great video! VERY informative! I recently found you and I will definitely keep coming back!

  • I have dry skin, will the damp sponge dry my face out? If so how can I help that?

  • Hi ; ) I posted a comment today to your MAC full coverage foundation in NC20. I'm getting ready to order it (really soon) and I was just wondering - where you using MAC Full Coverage in this viedo? Thanks so much. I'm just trying to learn as much about the MAC full coverage before I go spending the money. Thanks so very, very much!! wink, wink and smiles to you from California ; ) ps I wanna order it today.

  • love that someone else sets their foundation with powder. i have for years. i cannot stand to wear liquid foundation without setting with powder. ; ) thanks for the tips!!

  • I really don't think that's the right colour for you...

  • @MRfruitMACHINE14 i know. and?

  • Comment removed

  • @plozangel1996 homophobic twat :)

  • @plozangel1996 Yeah he is. Whats your point?

  • @plozangel1996 no shit Sherlock

  • what shade is he?

  • @MRfruitMACHINE14 yer erm your not really making sense.

  • Where can I get mac full coverage?

  • Great tip

  • i love your voice!

  • you seem like a straight guy why wear make up?

  • @xxmusicxxaddictedxx

Because he can, AND we LOVE his advice!!!

Makeup is NOT just for females and gay persons. It,s for anyone who wan,t to use it.

  • @anitacathrine ooooo alright haha

  • @xxmusicxxaddictedxx

Well, i am not answering something mean to you, since you just are a child...

  • @anitacathrine er not really love i was just wondering something didnt ask you to talk down to me in fact i dont even know you so your opinion really doesnt matter and my life will go on :)

  • @xxmusicxxaddictedxx Because doing the demo on himself is the easier option than having to find another model, plus you get a better idea of how you would do it on yourself. He still has eyes, a mouth, etc. so why not? I'm sure he doesn't go to the shops looking like that, and even if he did, his look is more of a natural style rather than dramatic drag-queen style, so where's the harm?

  • @MissJHarmony jesus christ XD im not saying theres anything wrong with it ive said before you people all need lives i wasnt trying to offend i was just asking a question plain and simple, now stop being a key board warrior and get a life.

  • i didnt know they were washable the mac ones wow....

  • i'm impressed, you're really good. (" ,) Great advise @gossmakeupartist

  • QUESTION-I cant help but feel as if the sponges tug at my skin a bit, may be my make-up artists are kinda rough. I never asked them to wet the sponge, but will and see it that changes the feel of the application. I like brushes, if you wet them will it be the same effect as a wet sponge?

  • I am commenting all the way from Barbados, thats in the Caribbean. Your name were mentioned in a tutorial I was looking at about the La Femme eyeshadow. All my brushes, face and lips products are from Mac. On jobs I'm airbrushed, on my own I never seem to get the look. I love make up, but recently I get so disappointed because I never get the look!!!! I bought a Mac liquid liner and used it once, I just can't seem to get it work....plz do a basic make up must have that will work for any look

  • Absolutely Brilliant! Thank you so much.

  • I am so glad that I have started to watch your older vids. I have started to use this technique and my little sis has noticed the difference. Waiting for my full coverage foundation to see if I can achieve this look. Unfortunately I have to use this full coverage due to electrolysis scarring.

  • are you austrailian?:D

  • Hi, how do you keep the puffs hygienic in between uses? I know you said to chuck it in the washing machine which is great but you can't do that everyday. Because I have acne prone skin I tend to clean face brushes with isoproply alcohol everyday so I am not getting bacteria on the skin from prior brush use. Can you do something similar with the puffs?

  • Do you throw away the sponge after use? Or do you wash it or disinfect it or use it a couple more times? Thank you!

  • Your tutorials are alway to the point, without any unnecessary blah-blah! Thank for respecting the viewers time too!!!

  • @ellielela If u don't like this video.. Then shut yur eyes.. And don't watch it! SIMPLE!

  • does it give a matte or dewy finish?

  • O.M.G.. I've been applying foundation like.. wrong since I ever started using it! Awesome tutorial! I admire your vids! :-}

  • greattttttt.... i loike......................

  • U r truly knowledgeable u give great tips n tricks to make ur makeup or foundations look awesome and more nautral like rather than cakey or lookin like u have on too much makeup

  • great video! I learnt so much by watching this and I have been watchin lots of makeup vidoes by other gurus!!!! you are a genious!

  • an oldie but goodie! my how things change, but great tutorials never go out of style!

  • good tutorial

  • Thanks! this is really helpful! :) I subbed 'cause I think you're awesome!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! So THAT'S how you do it! OMG Thank You so much!!!

  • @elielela Learn english before you make stupid comments.

  • @elielela i hope your not this nasty in real life.

  • @elielela what the hell wash your fucking mouth out gosh hes a makeup artist he does not deserve it.

  • silly question do you wear makeup daily

  • How many times can you use the powder puff on different clients? Or do you only use one per client? If, so that would be costly or can you wash them?

  • You are awesome where can I buy the sponges? I use studio fix foundation then I apply the studio fix powder am I doing this really wrong should I use something else? And can I use the sponge with my Mac studio fix foundation? Sorry for all the questions.

  • Have you ever went out like this!

  • @ScorthyGal I LOVE my Studio FIX, that is a foundation I can wear daily. So I still will buy this product too. I was curious which is why i bought the full coverage. I like it as well. But I only got it yesterday, I would say that full coverage photographs better, but i will not wear it daily (or at least will try not too, lol) It covers great and can double as a concealer. I have tried tons of foundations and I always go back to Studio Fix fluid. I would at least try it out.

  • 12 people cant afford MAC

  • @ScorthyGal Yes just received mine today in the mail. It is now a PRO only foundation. But you don't have to be a PRO member. I just called the PRO number for MAC and ordered it. I would suggest getting matched at MAC.com using there Live Chat feature (I just told them what I wear in my other Mac Foundation, and they suggested my color) and then call the number and order it. No questions were asked. They put in my order and now I have mine. The number is 1-800-387-6707.

  • Thank you for sharing!!

  • brilliant tutorial

  • does pressing the powder on the skin rather than using a brush make it last longer?

  • @PacificMidwest yes

  • Thanks for your help!

  • The foundation is kinda yellow.

  • @kevalenoxx sadly, mac has started to back off making regular skin tones now.they tend to make more yellow-y undertoned foundations :/ just go one shade lighter and the yellow will dissipate.

  • @AllieBearLove I still end up looking like a banana. I think i might just go with RCMA or Cinema secrets since i heard they are pretty good.

  • @kevalenoxx oh, us pale people. it's harder to match a skin tone when you are so pale- with mac, you end up looking yellow. what i do is i use the palest foundation i can find (almost white) and mix a little into Mac's studio fix fluid NC25. you should try mac's NW line. like NW10, for you. i have a feeling you have a lighter skin tone like me :) sorry; if you dont :/

  • @AllieBearLove Ahahaha I'm actually not pale at all. I'm Biracial (Black/White) lol,but from what I've heard it's hard to match our skin tones because it tends it tends to run kinda neutral(for some of us). I've also notice that my skin undertone is kind olivey. Thanks anyways for the tip lol

  • Excellent tutorial. Just followed your instructions and my makeup looked gorgeous.

  • I have oily skin, would u still recommend to use cream foundations with the wet sponge method?

  • Could you share the shage of the MSF? Thank you!

  • This is by far the most helpful powder application tutorial I have ever seen. I've been doing it wrong (ie. using the big powder brush for actual powder application rather than excess powder removal) for years and wondering why it just made the powder look like it was collecting across the surface of my skin rather than blending in and doing anything good for my complexion. Thank you for sharing your tips!

  • Thank you Wayne. You just picked my new foundation. My skin hasn't had anything heavier than moisturizer following mineral powders on it in twenty years, but going to give this a go. xo

  • Which foundation is best for Indian Skin tones?

  • @chaitu2010 mac foundations that are either NC or C (such as NC40 or C40) are the most olive/gold toned and are therefore most appropriate for middle eastern skintones.

  • @chaitu2010 Sorry to interupted but my friend has indian skin and she always said that MAC were the best brand for their wide selection of colours and on the drugstore end... sleek :) Hope this has helped

  • @chaitu2010 I am Indian and I use nc42 for the triangle under my eyes as I am lighter there. So mac there. and I found that makup4ever hd has a good match for me. 173 matches the other areas of my face. We Indians usually need two shades so we dont look ashy. Sometimes we hv a lighter inside adn the perimeter of the face is darker. So I apply different shades. I also apply mac studio fix powder plus foundation. It depends on your skin type too...so u can choose the right formula....

  • Full coverage foundation will never be transparent because it's needs to be thick in order to cover.

  • i hope u can help me

i have dark spots and a dry skin, so which product should i have to use for a full coverage and naturally skin? i dont like it if anybody see that i have makeup on my skin, so it should look transparent as well

  • really really good. why didn't i find you sooner. lol... subscribing? definatly.

  • hi, is it for dry skin also?

  • should I use this foundation if I dont need full coverage, I have pretty good skin, dont need a concealer at all, no dark circles or anything on my face to cover. I actually really hate any cream or liquid foundations, I can always feel it on my skin all day and if its hot it melts off my face, it doesnt matter if I use a primer and finishing powder. I hate that caked on feeling on my skin. I have not found one liguid foundation I ever liked and I have tried just about all the high end ones.

  • @Puddycat11385 you can always use powder foundation not everyone needs to use liquid or cream

  • I tried the velour powder puff technique with my MSF as you showed...& I can't even believe the results!! I have been doing it for a week now & my daughter actually commented today on how my skin looked airbrushed. I am going to mention the technique in my next video with props to you Wayne! Thank you!!! It has absolutely changed the look of my skin... :)

  • Great tutorial! What is a great powder to give a dewy glow to set this foundation with, I'm not a fan of the matte look, but I want good coverage and for it to last. Thanks to anyone who might have some good advice!

  • wow, MAC just discontinued this product! Can you please help us find a replacement? pretty please??

  • Finally someone shows me how to put on foundation. I never wear it cause it always looks fake and gets oily here in humid Florida but that powder trick may just work. Merci.

  • i like your vids, you're teaching me a lot

  • i love u

  • You do know make up is for women, just checking.

    :)

  • @MakeupFashionLife You stupid idiot!

  • @MakeupFashionLife Actually, every movie star, model, & famous singer (man or woman) have make up on in front of the cameras. They may be celebrities, but who says that regular men can't wear make up? Is it because society says so? Like blue is for boys and pink is for girls? That pants are for boys and skirts are for girls? Can I say "You do know blue jeans are for men, just checking. :) " ?

PS. Sorry Wayne, ignorance irritates me sometimes. Your tutorial was wonderful! Thank you again! _(..)_

  • @Christine3830 I dont wear blue jeans, get your facts right k thx?

And i was not asking a reply from you so next time mind your on buisness.

Get your big head out his arse.

  • @MakeupFashionLife I was using the blue jeans as a general analogy... maybe you don't, but millions of women wear blue jeans. Likewise, there are many men who wear make up.

If you truly wanted to keep your comment private from the rest of the Internet, there is the Private Message function. Or maybe you should mind your own business & let a man (OMG!) present a great make up tutorial on Youtube.

Besides, you haven't answered from my first post... "who says that regular men can't wear make up?"

  • @Christine3830 Make up was made for WOMEN not MEN.

  • @MakeupFashionLife There are over 40-Million website hit results from Google when I just tried a search for "makeup for men"... You can also watch Wayne's insightful tutorials here or do a Youtube search for "ExpertVillage Makeup For Men" or "Michelle Phan Guy Makeup Tutorial". Yes, even Michelle Phan has a tutorial on makeup for men.

You can debate with me all you want about your opinion because, after-all, you are entitled to one... but *the fact* remains that makeup is not limited to gender.

  • @Christine3830 Omg..... Your worst than him.

    You an actually a tranny.

Like wtf is up with your videos?

  • @MakeupFashionLife Since you've watched my videos, how about you move your personal anger, derogatory terms, and profanity against my honest truths and facts over to one of them. I'd be happy to discuss on my video comments about crossdressing, my successful career thus far, my positive contributions to society, and my loving wife and family... I will not continue anymore here. I'm sure everyone here would like to just go back to talking about makeup and share tips on MAC foundation. Cheers :)

  • @MakeupFashionLife Give it a rest already geeze... you lost the argument clean and fair without any sh!t thrown at you... and now to try and save face you personally attack this person?? Wow, what class... (insert sarcasm here)

  • @SisterMixu Can you sdfu, your not hard.

And i didnt loose the 'argument' .....

    :S

    dont get involved.

  • @MakeupFashionLife My sister got into my account last night and posted that last comment under my name... I have since changed my password and tried to delete that comment earlier this morning but Youtube was having problems, so I was only able to do so now.

  • @Christine3830 PMSL U GOT OWNDED AND UR TRYING TO LIE.... GET A FUCKING LIFE?!

  • @MakeupFashionLife Or what? You're going to throw Caps Lock words at me too? haha~ oh noes!! I think you're the one who needs to get a fucking life. Grow up... and no, I don't mean trying to stand on your toes.

  • @MakeupFashionLife Makeup is not just for woman. Makeup has had many purposes over the years... It was first used over 6000 years ago by BOTH Egyptian men and women as they believed it had magical powers (such as lining of the eyes improves sight), towards the middle ages Monarchs (yes even KINGS) wore loads of makeup to disguise their ill looks. Even in Shakespearean times - the majority of the actors would've been men - and they wore makeup far more often than women.

  • very fine finish, ur an expert! thanx for the tutorial!

  • thanks for the tutorial. My question is what would you suggest for setting my makeup that would give a glow (like you were talking about). I have many setting powders, but they are not shimmery, more matte, but I do have many mineral loose powder foundations that are a little glowy, would those work? I also have many highlight powders, but I am thinking those may be to shimmery? what would you suggest? Many thank yous!

  • great tutorial! thanks

  • I've been watching you for a while now and reviewing older videos. I don't know how I missed this one but it really helped. I've often wondeded what those pads were for now I know and how to use them properly. The tip about how to use a powder brush wow, here I thought I was doing it right. Thanks again hun a good reminder.

  • You are genuinely cute, thank you for your video clip. its miserable im living within Onley because i aren't able to receive good makeup, however i find no charge samples of makeup through "GratisMakeupSamples". i absolutely adore Max factor makeup!

  • You are a god!!! Love your vids, keep making them please. :)

  • OMGooooooooddddddd!!! Thank u so much!

  • Maybe you can help me. Because I have seen so many videos and not one has helped me. Im not a beginner in doing make up but I still haven't learned how to mask my dark circles whithout having my concealer looking caked on. I use Bobbi brown concealer and corrector and loose powder benefit powderflage. I love how Kim Kardashian's make up looks this year her concealer looks perfect she seems to do something different. Like i said i hope you can help.

  • @yas44 Hi maybe i can help you a bit.Put a little bit concealer on your clean finger, and pat it soft in a thin layer under your eyes.Keep patted it soft,so it will melt into your skin.Maybe this concealer is a bit to heavy, but in a thin layer and with the warmth of your finger it must work.Don't use a lot of powder!!There are a few vids from Kim with her MUA,they tell witch concealer she's using.I'm sorry for my enlish,i'm dutch, but i hope yoú understand it a bit.Goodluck!! xxx

  • I love that your techniques are old school. Tried and true. Timeless methods that work. Thanks for your videos and channel.

  • great technique with the powder and the sponge, I'll try iy. thank u!!

  • I loved it . thank for your tips.

    friend in Calgary, AB

  • whats ur mac shade?

my skin is exactly ur color

  • i need to ask you and since you're the expert here i really want your opinion!!!! when applying foundation, would you recommend a primer base rather than a setting powder? i am thinking of buying the smashbox primer but if use that do i still need to use a setting bowder?? please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can anyone buy mac pro products? or do u have to be a member?

  • @coffeeprincess709 anyone can buy but at the pro stores ull have to be a member
