  • 1:29.........AAHHHHRRRR!!!

  • what enzyme found in almonds?

  • I like it when she says nuts.

  • I am wondering if soaked almonds should be skinned, or am I losing some of the nutrition doing so?

  • @henristuartross1 A small bit would be lost, but not the majority.

  • I like all this NUTTY talk! Smell it, get it unsalted, uncooked, raw, and cold pressed.

  • almonds are not nuts ,they are seeds.

  • i have coconut oil that smells almost smokey, is that rancid?

  • @FletcherHabit How long have you had it?

  • Does anyone know how pasteurization has affected the nutritional value of California almonds?

Is it worth soaking almonds that have been pasteurized?

  • hello, how about walnuts? they have no shell, should i still soak? thanks.

  • @lumimobb hello, listen again ...she mentioned walnuts.

  • My nut!

  • you don't want to soak flax seeds grind them up

  • many sites soak nuts then simmer them...

ISNT that just killing off the enzymes?

  • @mpanegos --ANYTHING cooked over 115 degrees kills all enzymes. Heat kills.

  • @durgaaa but if its SIMMERED... tis not 115 degrees ;-) thats below 115 ...

  • @mpanegos --you're kidding yourself. Simmering is a low boil. Better get yourself a thermometer.

  • @durgaaa simmering temp is a range of temps...AND all enzymes die at 115 seems to be argued if you research it ..many articles state higher temps

    have a nice day

  • @mpanegos sorry I voted you down by accident

  • Awesome info on soaking!

  • I like this video! it was the answer to my questions about soaking almonds!!

have you heard of Dr.Sebi the natrual Healer?

  • I DO taste the rancidness of nuts from a can. They smell and taste stale and bitter. I soak and slow roast my nuts for maximum flavor and nutrition. I needed a video on my blog (TheSkinnyOnline) today about nut-soaking and found you!! Thanks for posting this. I also linked to your site.

  • @belovedideas --if you ROAST any nuts you KILL thieir nutrition.

  • mushrooms are awesome except candida

  • @Mongodelight Candida is not really a mushroom it's a type of yeast fungi.

  • LOL the fat is whats good, dont listen to that low fat fallacy

  • there is some truth to it. But i wouldnt eat less than 60g(A big avocado). It depends on how much u eat in general. I am eating a 2 pound wild greens salad. To process that food i need fat. It would take me hours to chew that without, with fat less than 30 minutes

  • can someone explain a bit more about how she was saying eating too many nuts will make your body reject them?

  • maybe she meant that wating too much in one sitting will go more to waste.

  • eating*

  • She is referring to studies that show that eating too much (or too often) of the same food item can cause individuals to develop food allergies towards that food. ie too many tomatoes=allergy to tomatoes etc

  • Well she didn't say why, but then said eating as many grains as you could pick before going ape-shit would be the equivalent!!

  • What she meant is, if you eat too many nuts at some point your body won't digest them anymore, you will just eliminate them. So, if you look at the output from your body you can see tham coming out in pieces, not being digested.

  • @gigiontube --this person is trying to tell you to pay attention to your fecal material or, your Poop. That's right! To stay healthy you need to pay attention to what goes OUT as well as what goes in. Watch it every day and you will know the state of your health.

  • i hand picked and shelled a pound and a half of almonds in an hour.

so the method doesn't work for me... i will say this though - how many nuts would you eat if you had a stockpile limited by what you picked and the seasons !

  • I don't understand what she said about the coconut oil. =/

Coconut oil takes years to show any sign of rancidity. Spectrum might not be the best brand, but they are reasonably priced, and there's no way that their coconut oil is more than 1 year old at the time of the sale.

  • she also said that you need to develop a level sensitiveness to rancid odors... I personally can't really tell when nuts or UFA/MUFA oils have gone rancid, but i know they do, so i keep them in my fridge

  • Be sure to rinse your nuts and seeds well after soaking.

  • Soaked almonds=Food poisoning

    i felt miserable

  • This is the first video I have seen on raw vegan cooking that tells people NOT to eat so many fat filled nuts. I feel like some of the focus on health benefits gets lost when people try to copy cooked food. I am very new to raw though.

  • *correction to above* Raw vegan preparing or (un)cooking

  • How long would you soak say...almonds for?

  • overnight. i soak them overnight and then rinse, peel off the skin and eat

  • You have no idea this video helped me so much ! I was all confused about the nuts and now I get ...I have not been soaking the nuts I was just eating them straight b/c they said RAW opps...ok lessoned learned thank you again for all the FANTASTIC video your posting they are VERY helpful!
