  • Can't ever remember not enjoying Jim Carey. Superb. For anyone interested, Albert Ammons made some great tracks with Pete Johnson around 1940 for Victor. These piano duets are well worth a listen.

  • Best Scene Ever.

  • @Phulesmith i actually don`t know Jim Carrey, can you imagine?

  • it's always the old black guy who adds that much-needed spice to it

  • Can anyone give me the sheet music for this?

  • Seriously the BEST Jim Carrey movie.

I love the relationship with his father in the movie and that scene with Bob asking why he didn't dance. After he says dad for the first time and hides round the corner. Then the closing scene of the family photo's including one of Harry and Jim Carrey out side the Majestic on opening night, they could be related.

    Thank God for DVD's

  • @darrellkaiser11285 Wow, there is not appropriate time for someone to make the comment you just made. You should be ashamed.

  • For all the people who are repeatedly asking for the name of the song, try looking in the suggestions box... Boogie Woogie Stomp by Albert Ammons

  • @sindr0ne Although I don't know what song this is, it isn't Boogie Woogie Stomp, that's a really distinctive Albert Ammons song, and this one isn't it. I would LOVE to know what song it is though! Great blues!

  • @DarianneKevi Yes it is

  • what is that song please?

  • Jim is the greatest eh Lord!!

  • I really like this movie, thanks for uploading this great scene!

  • I love this movie!

  • I love this movie, and this scene is one of my favorites.

  • i love this scene.

  • I always did like this movie, and this was a really good scene.

  • I still think it's the finest thing he has ever done. I still don't know if Jim was right for the part but he seriously put his heart into this. Not quite Miracle on 34th Street but a beautiful film.

  • Go Jim Carrey Go! I didn't know you could play! excellent Job!

  • @BeGentleiBruise It's called 'The Majestic'

  • Cool!

    :)!

  • So does any 1 know where i could get the music or d u recon it could be worked out? got the base line no probs but its just sooo tempting to make my own right hand lol

  • i love the sound of that piano. so full! and war

  • this is what got me started playing boogie woogie. i even learned the base line from watching this. now i can almost play the whole thing.

  • you never told me about the piano (swt)

    Worried Face*

    Lol so classic

  • Classical music is beautiful...but I'm all Jazz...that's the best

  • The film maker made a good point here, and that is that most people don't really appreciate Liszt, although they might think that it is better music and think they ought to like it. They like music which is easy to listen to and dance to. Classical music is for the minority elite, and I suppose it always will be. It does not matter. All music excites the emotions, whatever kind it be.

  • No. He's stating that no matter how much you play music you are not passionate for, you will never remember it.

Instead, the music that your soul "swings with", that's the one you'll remember.

  • I don't really think so, 'cause in the movie, he's not the guy they mistake him for. So he couldn't remember the classical music, just because he never was taught.

  • I then sincerely apologize cynic150 then. And no I have not seen the movie.

  • 2:55 i just love how he suddenly remembers how to play it, why can't i channel some random piano skills from a past life next time i go to a house party? lol.

  • I think its because people went to this movie expecting Ace Ventura and was thrown off by Jim's serious side.

  • @drnegative69 Pretty much. Kinda like how people were expecting some sort of comedy when they went to see Will Farrell in Stranger Than Fiction.

  • love him x

  • original is boogie woogie stomp by albert ammons

  • which is the name of the song???

  • the first song Franz Liszt - Hungarian Raposdy, the second one I don't know

  • I found out meanwhile: it is called: Jim Cox - Boogie Woogie Stomp; you can find info on soundtracks of movies, always, on IMDB-COM

  • IMDB has their shit together when it comes to details about movies.

  • cual es el nombre de la cancion???

  • well...music seems to be in his soul... he could never forget....

  • I just saw this movie on tv last night and loved it. And I love the Boogie Woogie Stomp.

The Majestic is a great movie.

  • He's such a great actor.... too bad he and his girlfriend are such anti-vacc nutjobs in real life.

  • This movie shows how good of an actor Jim Carrey is. This is one of the best movies ever done.

  • Agree!... was one of my fav of all time first time I saw it... have seen it sometimes now, love this movie!

  • @jedimaster30002000 That and the guitar scene in Yes Man... He's amazing... XD

  • Its sad how people think this is a bad movie, when in fact Jim Carey was awesome in this movie and although its not his usual comedic self.. It still was an awesome movie. And this scene is the best in the movie.

  • i love jim carey, he's awesome, never scene this movie, the only movie i didn't like of his was "the number 23"

  • holy crap, stride piano!

  • nah, that's boogie woogie man !

  • What a stuck up bitch!

  • this is not one of the best parts, it is the best part

  • amazing! i'm gonna learn this soon so i can perform the song at my brother's wedding :)

  • Yeah, I lost my dinner too.

  • Hot damn he is sexy in this movie.

  • I know I had just got so sorry

  • nine and a half year after the war ...

Great piano playing i want to learn it like that xD

  • I wondered why critics hated this movie so much when it wasnt that bad. It really show the hypocrisy of America during the 1930s and jim carey was great in it

  • Early 1950s actually. It's supposed to have taken place some years after WW2.

  • This is amazing!!What song is it he's playing?

  • r u blind or somethin? It's writen right under ur comment

  • i wander what the exact song is???

  • Boogie Woogie Stomp by Albert Ammons

  • The song is called "Boogie Woogie Stomp"

  • One of my favorite movies of all time.I just tried to find it on iTunes,to no avail. I suppose now I'll have to track down the DVD somewhere....ugh....I'd much rather just point and click.

  • This movie has a 20/100 on the metacritic´s average. I think that´s a shame! This is a beautiful movie.

  • Couldn't agree more. This is the most underrated movie I have ever seen.

  • gee, maybe i should have taken a closer look at this about 9 years ago lol.

  • some times, uprights are better than grands

  • As a huge fan of Frank Capra films , i was pleased to no end to have seen this movie on cable yesterday.Frank Darabont , The director of "shawshank redemption" and "the green mile" scored again with this tribute to WW2 vets , the victims of McCarthyism and the brave men who stood up to McCarthy. It is a great day when you discover a classic sleeper like this.

  • Really fantastic film

  • Man that is an awesome song. I am going to get the music and learn it right now! WOW!

  • i know i love this part too its incredible

  • can you send me the music please if u found it, thx

  • I did find it. Just go to any local place that has sheet music and if they don't have it I am sure that they can get it for you.

  • ok thnx.

  • Wait, did you actually find the music with all the fast, cool parts of the song? Or is it a rough version of the music? I thought it was a special arrangement that's supposed to be hard to find if available at all...

  • Yeah I found a rough version of the music since alot of this song is improvised. It is hard as hell to play I can get all the way through it but I have to slow it down. I am working up to speed.

  • Such a great movie!

  • Nagyon szeretem Jim Carry-t :-D

  • i love this movie:-D

  • Hungarian raphsody 2. yeah i am Hungarian.... i love u Jim Carrey:-D

  • hey nice song, does any one know

the name of it and who plays it?

  • Majestic scene :D

  • ieri ha ftt questo video in tv, grandissimo carey!

  • name of the film mate.

  • The Majestic

  • Majestic means like if something was grand or beautiful and something fancy.

  • it was probably mic'ed you tard

  • thats why its called a MOVIE!!! lol

  • name song ??

  • its just boogie blues improvised

  • this a great scene is he really playing the piano

  • It's called Boogie Woogie Stomp

  • But a fucking great scene!! Carrey could easily "outspar" most actors, despite he's mostly famous for his non-at-all-serious roles...

  • Scary woman! Yuck...

  • Great part of the movie.

Dose anybody know the name of the song he is playing?

  • I believe it is Liszt's Hugarian Rhapsody No. 2.

    Cheers!

  • It's called Blue Note Boogie and the version they use in the song is by Jim Cox. The one his piano teacher wanted him to play was Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Lizst, but he couldn't. Instead, he played the song I mentioned above.

  • Blue Note? Don't think so.. It's called Boogie Woogie Stomp. But you're right that it's Jim Cox's version.

  • this is a great scene from a great movie, his face at 3:33 always makes me smile he's like "how the hell am i playing this?"

  • that's because there's haters

  • Don't always rely on the opinions of critics.

  • wow Jim Carrey is so serious in this movie.

  • her neck scares the shit outta me 0_o

  • one of my fave movies, but not my fave jim carrey movie of course.

  • well NAAAAH genius!

  • Wow, really? I didn't know Alf Clausen was such a good boogie woogie pianist. Good stuff.

  • i'd really like this movie, i never have seen jim acting drama, but it's prettygood!!!!
