Terrahawks - Japanese Title Sequences

I'll confess that even though a college student at Nanzan in Nagoya, I liked to come home from classes, brew a pot of tea with a few cookies, and watch this show. Thought for sure it was purely a Japanese creation; now I find out it was dubbed.

Wow, I didn't even know Terrahawks was shown in Japan, let alone that the credits were re-edited for the audience. Good find! Thanks for sharing.

I have long wondered though why the series has never been rebroadcast on British TV since the early/mid 80s and yet all of Anderson's other work appear every so often.

@Dynaman21 I see, thanks for sharing that info. Interesting - do you know why he disowned it or can you give me a link to more details please? To me, Terrahawks never came across as inferior to his other work so I wonder why he felt that way.

@Dynaman21 Why didn't he like it?? I always thought Terrahawks was quite funny and enjoyable. I preffered it to Stingray and all that, and liked just as much as Thunderbirds.I like Star Fleet better though but I think Terrahawks deserves a lot more credit. A LOT more credit.

was the animation for the japanese version a cartoon series or used for the intro for the original puppet series , i know there was thunderbirds 2010 or thunderbirds but manga , was it okayed by gerry anderson

WOW! That is Cool, dya think studio Nue did those animated sequences. I grew up with the us version but those anime sequences. Feeling like crusher joe or macross.

@MarchMuffins: Studio Nue, Sunrise studio, or Madhouse (it was found in 1978) could have done the animation. Who knows?? But it could be either Studio Nue, or Sunrise (I have seen Sunrise older anime, and they could be capable of doing this anime sequence).

It was only the title sequences that were made as Anime, for the Japanese syndication package of the show.
