for those who are saying whyd you hit it at 00.42 because sometimes a reminder is good you will have to keep it in line by doing that a couple times is perfectly right & if you'd had a horse/pony that did what that one does and you knew how to train it properly, youd know that.
The use of draw reins without an independent seat (watch the hands go up and down at the posting trot) is HORRIBLE! The leg is not in balance under the seat (although certainly understandable considering the mare's antics). You can't use your hands independently and effectively unless your legs and seat are stabilized. No wonder this mare acts nuts.
Wow! The trot work around 2 mins and 4 mins of playing looks great! I would've chickened out for sure. Great seat and leg -- you're brave. I have a naughty mare too, but not that naughty :)
When you get her going she does move really nicely... just ride it thought and at the end of that tunnel you will both be a real threat for the rest of us in the show ring! good luck :)

She'll make a great pony one day. Look at Ellen Whitakers Ladina B. She's not the perfect ride nor the best behaved, but that horse does her job, and does it good.

My horse was exactly the same when i broke him in, mum wanted to sell and get rid but we always seem to want to get through to them! We had no end of trouble for months and was VERY SLOWLY getting better until we had him scoped and found some ulcers...within 3 days of being on gastrogard, was a different horse. Just a quick thought for you, we tried everything and only did it as last resort but it worked :) well sat though x
1 suggestion, maybe it will help her stop bucking and rearing, but try to stay off the rail, do tons of circles, cutting accross the ring, switching directions, then she doesnt know were she is going, and she has to think more.

Amazing riding you have an excellent seat!! The horse looks absolutely lovely when shes not bucking or rearing and is trotting and cantering nicely. You can tell shes going to be a star
please don't think i'm a crazy horse bitch, i'm really trying to help:) my horse used to have this issue. my suggestion is to keep a suuuuper short rein on her at all times bc she seems pretty unpredictable, and i noticed you were trying to pull her back but you had too much rein and no where to pull! another thing, try wearing spurs. i know you only want to reward her for the good behavior, but when she rears, dig the spurs into her and move her up and she'll soon associate rearing with pain.

I Absolutly love the cheekyness on this horse! Your a bloody great rider aswell! I have a little 13hh with rearing issues and i wear draw reins on him, Tbh they do not loose their ballance, there bold enough to rear up , there bold enough to hold their ballance!!

Be careful riding with the draw reins, especially with a horse that rears. They can get a leg caught, plus they make it difficult for her to balance when she rears, and she could easily fall over.

she will end up being a nice horse, she shows a lot of potential. try riding with tons of leg and make your hand as soft as possible. do you ride with a really tight girth? that could be one thing that could piss her off too.
the horse is 100% physically fine, but her back is very very bad.
my mate's horse used to rearing up all the time every time she rode her. she tried lots of difeerent bits (maybe they were to hard) but even ride on the headcollar didnt help.
finally the vet said there is the problem with the back, caused by wrongly fitted saddle and wrong tacking.
bloody hell you sat that like noone ive ever seen before!!!!!!!!! at lest when the just rear, or just buck, you ca sort of expect it, but near the beginine when she was rearing, the threw in some quick buck...well that was really well sat!!

well, i hope she's stopped her antics now, i got the impression from your sister that she has. if so, you can work more on yourself and concentrate less on trying to stay on, obviously. draw reins won't stop a rearer... if they want to, they'll still go up (and over), in fact it often makes them think backwards and therefore they're more likely to go up. if you only used them the once, great. you sit in a bit of a chair seat on her, i have no idea whether you do this usually though.
Ke-rist she can buck! (And rear and spin... lol) I had similar problems with my mare last year as a 4 year old (she is a welshie!) so I know how frustrating it can be. All I can say is WELL SAT! And carry on as you are, I'm sure she'll settle down eventually! She'll be fantastic when she does, she has gorgeous floaty paces and is a very pretty girlie.
Bloody hell girl you sit well! That was an unfortunate tumble, u had just gone past the point of no return and there wasnt much you could do. I like your approach of positive reinforcement instead of bollocking her, she'd be an easy horse to get into a fight with that you just wouldn't win, my 4yr old is like that, he likes standing up and waggling his legs and responds much better if i ignore it, work him through then give him praise for his good behaviour. Smacks don't work for every horse.

I Absolutly love the cheekyness on this horse! Your a bloody great rider aswell! I have a little 13hh with rearing issues and i wear draw reins on him, Tbh they do not loose their ballance, there bold enough to rear up , there bold enough to hold their ballance!!

well done glad you have a good seat,
a little tip, ride her forward when she feels as if she going upward
you might want to think of not riding her in side reins whens she naughty she might get her legs through them,

Wow- you have a fantastic seat, impressive riding.
Great levade lol...
Be careful riding with the draw reins, especially with a horse that rears. They can get a leg caught, plus they make it difficult for her to balance when she rears, and she could easily fall over.

she will end up being a nice horse, she shows a lot of potential. try riding with tons of leg and make your hand as soft as possible. do you ride with a really tight girth? that could be one thing that could piss her off too.

the horse is 100% physically fine, but her back is very very bad.
my mate's horse used to rearing up all the time every time she rode her. she tried lots of difeerent bits (maybe they were to hard) but even ride on the headcollar didnt help.
finally the vet said there is the problem with the back, caused by wrongly fitted saddle and wrong tacking.
have u sold her?

bloody hell you sat that like noone ive ever seen before!!!!!!!!! at lest when the just rear, or just buck, you ca sort of expect it, but near the beginine when she was rearing, the threw in some quick buck...well that was really well sat!!

I love the way people think they can critisize. You obviously know what your doing! I think it was bloody well sat most of the time, that fall looked painful :\ tbh, i ridden a flybucker and a rearer and its so unexpected, it can catch you unawares really easily. So i think anyone who wants to critiszie should be put on this horse and ride it aswel as you did and then they can, but ntil then they need to..er..jog on (; haha well done x

i like this video alot, some people just don't understand eh, always come onto youtube slagging people for sorting out ponies like this , using our gadgets , when they don't know anything about them which pisses me off. I love this video, your seat is fabulious and your courage is fantastic. She looks a fantastic and your doing a fantastic job with her. @kerilli Omg do get a grip! Draw reins can be used to stop a rearing horse getting high enough, and to have a little bit of control.

ok.. how do you suggest i improve my seat then? if its because my legs are slightly forward then that is because if they are not, then when she bucks i have nothing infront of me to hold me on.. so please, i would love to know whatr you suggest. and fyi, the horse is not ruined.

well, i hope she's stopped her antics now, i got the impression from your sister that she has. if so, you can work more on yourself and concentrate less on trying to stay on, obviously. draw reins won't stop a rearer... if they want to, they'll still go up (and over), in fact it often makes them think backwards and therefore they're more likely to go up. if you only used them the once, great. you sit in a bit of a chair seat on her, i have no idea whether you do this usually though.

Ke-rist she can buck! (And rear and spin... lol) I had similar problems with my mare last year as a 4 year old (she is a welshie!) so I know how frustrating it can be. All I can say is WELL SAT! And carry on as you are, I'm sure she'll settle down eventually! She'll be fantastic when she does, she has gorgeous floaty paces and is a very pretty girlie.

Bloody hell girl you sit well! That was an unfortunate tumble, u had just gone past the point of no return and there wasnt much you could do. I like your approach of positive reinforcement instead of bollocking her, she'd be an easy horse to get into a fight with that you just wouldn't win, my 4yr old is like that, he likes standing up and waggling his legs and responds much better if i ignore it, work him through then give him praise for his good behaviour. Smacks don't work for every horse.

yerpp i did that with mine you can also try tipping a bottle of water aswell .. they think it is blood :) it worked with my friends
