Easily the greatest rumble of all time. If not only for the hilarious Ric Flair walk and fall after the Texas Tornado punches. It's sad how poor today's rumble matches are. No time for any undercard talent, it's effectively a fatal four way with fluff around the edges. I don't want to see 15 guys get eliminated in under two minutes.

What exactly delivered? I honestly didn't really see much going on till right at the very end, This rumble had literally nothing really going for it, not much in terms of special highlights or replay value. I seriously can't really see the wow factor that was meant to be involved here. Even Heenan who I've heard was brilliant in this match was just stale and really repetitive in commentary.

Clearly there were guys you knew weren't going to win like Repo man or The Warlord, but with all the big names that I listed before, plus with Flair winning after drawing number 3, which was unheard of back then, PLUS winning the WWF title (the only rumble in history thus far to have that stipulation) and with the great team of Heenan & Monsoon on commentary, That's all the replay value you need

Kane was the star of that match though, and I've always thought it was a shame that he never has truly gotten the due that he deserves for being a talented big man. Anytime you had Heenan on commentary, you had gold.. especially when he and Monsoon were together. I miss those days a lot.

@Gog4toon I disagree. The music created an artificial pop. When there was no music, people had to strain to see who the next guy was, and thus their pop was more indiviudal. Plus guys who weren't over, well... you knew. Nothing was disguised. I liked it like this.

I really dunno why everyone says this is greatest royal rumble ever it was good but heenans commentry made it... I dont think the rumbles were as good until all the wrestlers used their theme music coming out got more o a pop from crowd in my opinon!!!

@Gog4toon I disagree. The music created an artificial pop. When there was no music, people had to strain to see who the next guy was, and thus their pop was more indiviudal. Plus guys who weren't over, well... you knew. Nothing was disguised. I liked it like this.
