Believe it or not, the final BIG nail in the coffin for the arcade industry was actually the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast introduced internet-based online capability and that was TRULY an addiction to many gamers that will sadly stay for many years to come.
What really killed the arcades was that they became too complicated and too expensive. I remember, I was really good at Samurai Showdown 1, but when I played Samurai S 4 I had my ass kicked and the guys who knew how to play wont give me a break.

well its true i didnt get to experience the 1980s gaming revolution era. But i get to experience the next gen consoles. THen i can look back to these years and say man i remember the wii, very revolutionary but now its really old.
There is actually an old picture that my dad took at an arcade of me playing Street Frighter II. If I can find it I can post it on my website. When I got my SNES, I got that too. What a game.
Back then was the coolest time though i was born in 95' i still remember when me and my much older borther wen through some boxe's and found and old Atari 2600 and atari are still going the only latest game that i remember is Driver Parralel lines.
man i wish i was born back then.. too bad i was born in the 95 era where almost everything was already made. although i did get to experience the nintendo 64 which was pretty cool
The comment at 6:10, I totally agree with. I remember getting $5 for the weekend from my mom and stretching that $5 over the entire weekend at the 'Family Fun Center' mini-golf arcade. I got so good at games like Donkey Kong, Defender and Joust that I could stretch a quarter over hours of gameplay. Good times.
So true and because people could play longer it hurt Video Game sales in a big way . That's when the First 50 cent games come to be like Dragon's Lair and Space Ace and many others .
Actually I saw this show a couple months ago. But since then I haven't seen it once. It was on every day for 2 or 3 hours and I always watched it for those 3 days, then it was off. My reaction: "Well, maybe it is only on a few times a week" so I wait a week and.. well.. it was never aired agian. This show was... well... AWESOME!
Kung fo I also have ideas for video games maybe we can contact each other about it

i wonder why they took this show off the air.
Limerkid 4 years ago
G4 took it off the air because it was good... now the entire channel is just a comedy piece... or trying to be one.

G4 is dead. It is a shell of what it once was.
