Warcraft 3 was great, and WoW is fine. You're just all stuck in the past and afraid of change. Orcs being good guys are perfectly fine, and much better than mindless killing machines.

@Lokyate Orcs being good guys was one of the stupidest things blizzard ever did. It directly contradicted their entire backstory, and basically changed them entirely. In general, I don't enjoy warcraft 3 and WoW for the simple fact it portrayed the alliance and horde as so powerless(and still does) against thousands of different threats, and because I don't think the new soundtrack fits the horde as well as their old one did.

We only hate change when it sucks the balls.

Warcraft 3 gave the story alot of depth and additions that fitted well to the series WoW just destroyed everything in the later expansions. There is no need to exagerate BloodskullMannoroth and unerating an excellent game wc3 was!

@BloodskullMannoroth The real amusing thing with all the Warcraft 3 hate is that the orc redemption was planned from the get go. Warcraft Adventures? That became the novel Lord of the Clans, which was released before Warcraft 3, and set the orcs along the road to redemption. Without 3, Warcraft as a whole is just a Warhammer knockoff with some slightly different lore.

Warcraft I was the get go, not Warcraft Adventures. And it's hard to hate on a game that wasn't even made so naturally people look to Warcraft III. And it's true Warcraft was a Warhammer knockoff, but I liked the setting more than modern Warcraft and Warhammer regardless.

Am I the only old-school fan who also likes Warcraft 3? Honestly, the reason I hated WoW was because it messed up a bunch of things in W3 and created a bunch of other silly plot twists that made no sense whatsoever. Still love the first two games, though, even for their ridiculously cliche and now-retconned stories, because while they were retconned, at least W3 managed to make something good, unlike its successor. xP

Warcraft III was soulless and World of Warcraft today with its power ranger Paladins and swords longer than the people wielding them is its soulless spawn.

i do believe the orcs were just a bunch of savages; nothing quite shamanistic about them; and hardly anything truely demonic coursing trough their veins making them do stuff...

that said i just take WoW as a whole different universe...

The people who make these games put a lot of effort into expanding a very generic Fantasy story (Warcraft I) into something unique that stands out among the tripe (Starting with WCII and coursing through the series since).

You think I don't like it because it's popular? Where the hell did you get that impression from? You're making unfounded and absurd assumptions about someone over the internet. The World of Warcraft lore is ridiculous. Just taking one thing for example: the Draenei. First the Draenei are said to all be dead, then some are alive but they're deformed... THEN there are a BUNCH of them that are still in their natural form... on a spaceship... that crash lands and joins the Alliance. It's soulless.

Blizzard will twist or retcon any lore so long as it makes them more money. High Elves (Blood Elves now, add in a "scary" title to Elf and suddenly they're evil) joining the Horde for example, an obvious attempt to balance player numbers between the two factions, creating a better MMORPG in their eyes. And I find it funny you think the retconned Warcraft lore stands out, it's about as cliché as possible.

Yes it is now (just checked) its actually the 5th and final orc soundtrack. It's actually Orc 5.

yes but in the wc2 game in gameplay this is the final orc soundtrack before it goes back to Orc 1 and its is called Orc 5 on the Warcraft CD.

The other 2 orc sound tracks (called Orc 6 and Orc 7 in wc2 but called Orc 5 and Orc 6 on here) are only the Victory/Defeat soundtracks and not Gameplay soundtracks like this one.
