WHAT?! iPods for sale in vending machines? Now that's a huge difference between Japan and the U.S. If we had a vending machine that sold iPods, it wouldn't last. Hahaha...
Ovation purchased International Music Feed from Universal Music Group and on January 8th, 2008, replaced IMF with Ovation.
So, it's not IMF's fault, I'm sure they didn't want to get off of the air, but Ovation bought them off. GAY! I think we should try to get Universal to put it back on!
500 yen for soda is a lot. Japan is so fricken expensive.
But it's cool how you can buy iPods and cigarettes in vending machines! (Does that mean there aren't an laws against underage smoking since the machines don't card?)
There are laws against underage smoking. You have to be 20 years old (an adult in Japan) if I'm not mistaken. All the cig. vending machine means is they don't card so it's easier for minors to get cigarettes.

Huh, you would think a successful country like Japan wouldn't have cigarettes available in vending machines for minors, but I guess it IS Japan, where they practically kill themselves on gameshows, and I've never even heard a prize being announced. Wow, that kinda made me sound like a weaboo, but I get whatcha mean.
First off, he didn't buy a soda for 500 Yen, it was a beer (actually happoshu, a low malt beer). Also, this was in a bar, so he was paying bar prices. On the street the same can would be about 150-170 Yen.
As for buying alcohol or cigarettes from vending machinces, a lot of machines now card.
You need to insert an ID card or driver's licence into a card checker. In many areas alcohol and cicarette machines may be required to be switched off overnight (from around midnight).

As for cigarette or alcohol vending machines, many do card. There is a card reader that checks an ID card or driving licence. Also, in some areas, alcohol or vending machines are required to be switched off overnight.
Why do users mark spam, an account named "BringBackIMF?" Don't they know the channel was bought and turned into boring classical junk? Goodbye awesome Japanese Rock videos, sayonara "Artist Feeds" hello snorefest that is Ovation TV.
Yeah, IMF got bought out and turned into Ovation TV, I canceled my subscrip because IMF was the only reason I even wanted to have Dish, so I could watch J-Rock videos. I encourage other IMF fans to do the same.
IMFmusic! Thank you so much for all of these uploads, they will definetly come in handy for when I leave for Tokyo next Friday! Thank you so much. Domo Arigato Gozaimasu!

Yea, after I commented, I realized it was beer.
That's cool that they card. I kinda found it weird that they didn't.
