Norway and British Columbia in Canada where this was taken, have a lot in common. Fiords and roads carved into the sides of them and numerous river canyons. I have driven in both countries
You got lucky that day. Rockslides aren't linear events: i.e. they don't just "happen" and are then "over". Frequently, a small slide happens, rocks keep scattering down, and people think it's over. However, this is often not the case. The small slide can be the straw that broke the camel's back and trigger a much larger slide. NEVER stand downhill from a fresh slide. One of the most dangerous places on earth. I've seen half a friggin MOUNTAIN collapse into a valley after a small slide~!
Was this at the "Big Slide" on Highway 12? Sure looks like it. I live not too far down the road and I dread going through there, try in January when the snow is melting and the boulders are coming down! Only been hit once, fingers crossed :)
You're a brave brave boy stopping on that section of Hwy 12... whew... I speed up when I approach. :o)
