What the fuck is wrong with you, Muse and Arctic Monkeys are 2 different bands. Arctic Monkeys' music is just generic rock and roll, with the exception of Humbug that crossed into Psychedelic art-rock. Muse is far more sophisticated musically, as their members are much more dexterous in their instruments and experiment with their sound. But they're both talented within their respective genres.
If you're gonna compare bands at least have the bands be in the same genre.

People hate this song because it alternates off a few basic chords, has no excellent rhythm patterns, and the lyrics are very immature and simplistic compared to other work by Arctic Monkeys.
That being said, I completely disagree. I love this song. It's thrilling live and I celebrate Matt singing whenever possible.
This song is disappointing, of course I expect bands to change up their sound and try new things, but I'm not too fond of the direction they're going.
