Onimusha 3 is the conclusion of the first 3 Onimusha games. and also has Samanosuke!:) sure Dawn of dreams does also, but hes put to the sidelines in Dawn of Dreams :S 3 is the best imo. but Dawn of dreams is still awesome :)

The fact is, the game crisscrossed a lot, so in truth it's up for grabs if the Genma Oni (Yes, that's what the 'boss' guy in the intro is. It's why he's in the Oni place and the dark realm and is even officially stated, not to mention being able to use Oni-Magic *His sword, I mean*) is still alive and kicking. If he was, he died in DoD at the end of Soki's trial at the gate. As for Gokumonji, that's even more

@ZeroMatrixGuyver due to the fact it's stated in official aspects, and even the strat. guide for DoD that it's an Oni-heirloom and passed down..as well as the fact Oni's sealed away said weapons into the dark realm to keep others from misusing them (IE: Only the truly worthy can obtain them by passing said trial o' slaughter), so possible that Samanosuke sealed the Gokumonji into the Dark Realm's 100th due to what kind of sword it was (Onimusha Sword and Oda's sword combined = Pwnage) so yeah.

@UltimateAnimeGamer the game said it was an alternate samanosuke that died (else if it was his own path i think instead of getting killed he would fall into a time portal and the whole circle would repeat itself) so i guess it refers to a parallel universe where this was supposed to happen... or who knows :D

I think there is a mistake because if the Samanosuke who is with Jacques have the Onimusha 1 armour , that means that he didn't atack the genma tank of the intro because when he arrives where Nobunaga waits his unckle is who gave him his new armour so that mean that the genma tank and Gargant should be alive

i think the lack of CGI is because they made the environments 3D and not prerendered like in 1 and 2. the budget was probably not enough to iclude CGI since pretty much the whole game got a graphical facelift. And that opening had to be pretty damn expensive.
