  • Thats right! (3:17)

  • Thats right!

  • とても懐かしく拝見しました。よくぞUPしてくれました。

  • very original and entertaining!

  • love the song, love the video. very cool

  • I believe the concept behind the video and song is that in life, if your gonna be an obnoxious weiner and mistreat others youre eventually gonna catch hell for it. LOL

Karmas gonna swing right back around!

  • If you didnt notice, this was from Friday night videos, NOT mtv. Friday night videos used to come on NBC every Friday at midnight

  • lol "One of my favorite videos, I DO Wanna know." :-) You know she watched that later and thought, "Oh crap! It's I D'OH wanna know!" You'd think someone would've tipped her off.

  • bobk1969................Only Retards spell retard wrong. Get a Fucking dictionary!!!

  • I love REO but this had to be the stupidest video they ever did and the song sucked too.

  • @fntrovato Gary Richrath contributed a ripping guitar solo though. Can't deny that

  • Brought back a lot of memories of my favorite REO song.

  • That guy looks like Jim Carrey!

  • Haven't seen that REO vid for almost 25 years ... it's funnier than I remembered. And Kevin makes a wicked good Satan!!

  • One of my FAVORITE MTV music videos!!

  • The intro girl is a reatrd

  • Hit #5 rock, #29 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • ahh the 80s.. permed hockey hair. still the comedy was great in videos. I have to agree with ColdHeartedBastich on that.

  • I wonder what kind of drugs these guys were on?

  • Funny because this is not a lie. People like that guy on the video get their just desserts!

  • I dig the old phone booth! Awesome!!!

  • lol kevin as the dad,god and the devil

  • @mickydg13 Only god could have such a luxurious fromullet lol.

  • For being her 'favorite video'.. she sure as hell didn't know what the title of the song was... I do wanna know..... it was actually I do' wanna know (do' being a contraction in a sense of don't in combination with the collocquial 'wanna')... wish there were a better version of this video online.. but thanks for this one.. it's better than nothing.. ;)

  • the kids around the breakfast table are

just the reo members dressed up as kids. how about cute gary dessed up in the chruch robe.

  • Hit #29 in Billboard.

  • Sorry, I stand corrected.

  • REO was awesome in concert the other week here in Corpus. They were trying to make apoint about good and bad choices you make today will either bless you or bite you tenfold later!!!

  • Reo has a sense of humor, which is displayed in this video

  • I love this video to death! Please never take it off.

    Angel bunny...devil bunny

  • I remember them playing this in July 1985 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. During the performance of this, some idiot up in the stands kept lighting papers and throwing them down onto the floor seats. Kevin yelled at them Stop Throwing That ****! Luckily, the police and security escorted him out.

  • I love all of their music,It stood the test of time!!

  • TIREDFATHER: agree 100%:)

    saw them twice

    jd

  • Still as good as I remember it. Not a big fan of videos, but this one is pretty good.

  • It's funny how this vid came out in 1984 and the year after Queen tried to tell fans that they invented the 'drag act in music video concept' with I want to break free. Tut tut! REO are more of an influence than they are given credit for!

  • And Queen never claimed to invent drag in video...pretty woman by VH had drag in it. All Queen was doing was mocking a UK soap opera...DUMMY!

  • The best REO Speedwagon song/video EVER! Hahaha! Been searching for ages for this video. The punk brat kinda looks like Lux Interior channeling Ed Grimley!

  • Prozac!,this kids needs some big time

  • Geez, that kid needs some serious medicating. Somebody get him some Ritalin. LOL.

  • lol your the inspiration by chicago is the next song you can hear it at 4:02 ! XD

    great REO song! REO RULES!

  • How much of a fan of this song can this idiot be if she can't even get the name of the damn song right?

  • The song is spelled on the album " I Do' Wanna Know" - so technically she spelled it right - the girl that introduced it before the video played was wrong in pronunciation of it. It's abbreviated - pronounced "I duhwanna know"

  • Talk about flashback. Thanks for posting this. Ah good times those 80' s.

  • thanks for putting this up i havent seean this in since i was 8 im 32 now, lol.

  • definitely one of REO's best song and funny music video too! thanks for posting..

  • Damn, I can't stop laughing and enjoying this great song.....I love it when Kevin "God" Cronin sees the behaviour of the bad kid on a movie played on a base ball ....come on....!!....this is awesome...LOL....Congratulations again and tnks for posting....

  • Great video !!.....I was searching for it everywhere without success.....ty, my dear friend Retrovault2 !!!....2 Thumbs up.....

  • this vid indeed caught the esscence in spades of the 80's !!!! thanx 4 posting it !! love REO

  • I like the bim who intros the video by calling it one of HER favorites and then gets the song title wrong. It's "I DO' Wanna Know" with the apostrophed "Do" being a shortened form of "don't" and pronounced like "dough", She pronounces it "Do" like "dew" which totally reverses the whole meaning of the song. Good one, Cheryl Lovejoy. You'd think that sharing a last name with The Simpsons' Reverend Lovejoy, you would know how to pronounce something that sounds like "D'oh!"

  • this song is nothing like reo really sounds like

this song is more like a perky annoying song thats keeps saying the title

    still like reo tho

  • Thank you for posting this. The song has been nearly forgotten, but I remembered really enjoying the video, and that it was more engaging and interesting than most by that point. It's good to see it again.

  • I always liked this song, but the video still weirds me out to this day. Pretty kooky even for 80s and REO.

  • I am so glad I found this video. What a Great Song.

  • awesome video

  • back in the 80's days of no worries reo kool

  • Is Kevin has a girl friend already?

  • Can you tell me what is the story about this mtv of I Do' Wanna Know?

  • I remembered one of the Mtv VJ's announcing when this video 1st came out that the Video's Director plays the bad guy. I Googled and his name is Kevin Dole and he shares Director credit on 6 videos (3 REO total) with Sherry Revord. You can find Kevin on Facebook. He looks the same, just a lil older! LOL

He lives in LA. They haven't done any videos since the 80's.. dunno what they're up to now.. maybe part of a production company my guess.

    hope that helps..

  • Love this song and video. MTV was certainly fun to watch in the eighties.

  • @thebikerdiva Yes it was fun to watch in the 80"s, It absolutely sucks now days.I don"t know why they even call it MTV anymore.

  • @thebikerdiva agreed! i prefer 80's mtv than anything else.

  • I need to upgrade my shelving in my closet to hold up an even reasonably sized human.... so I have to tell you, I'm not to worried about this. I'll probably come and find some bewildered sprite sitting in a pile of shoes with a confused look crying into my dress shirts. Something I'd rather not see, but not enough to annoy people with spam posts. Chain breaks here. You're welcome.

  • love this song =D

  • I forgot how goofy MTV and music videos in general could be in the 80s. Thanks for the post and the laugh.

  • @ColdHeartedBastich Goofy? Well, I'd rather have goofy than Gangsta Hip Hop crap. MTV nowadays SUCKS

  • @Dream2112 That's pretty much my point. There is no "M" in "MTV" any more. No matter how corny things were back in the day, there was at least innovation, imagination, and something lacking in today's "videos:" a sense of optimism and general cheerfulness. Today, if the video concentrates on fat backsides wearing G-strings, has a generic beat that the preceding thousand videos shared, and has lyrics about gangsta violence and gutter sex, it's labeled a masterpiece.

  • the intro lady is a moron !

  • the lady in the beginning of the vid introduced the vid as i DO wanna know.LOL

  • reo klassik

  • I don't wanna know how much you care but I LOVE THIS SONG !!! REO Speedwagon is one of the greatest bands from the 80's...along with Foreigner, Journey, and others =)

  • this video is pretty entertaining but.....it reaffirms my stance that Kevin, god love him, is one of the biggest dorks in music. Lol!

  • I absolutly LOVE this video!!!!!!!!

  • Bah. I see at least 2 people who can't realize whats truly pathetic about their comments, concerning this video being 'crap.' This video was made 20+ years ago,so at the time it was mde,the technology wasn't as avanced,as the moern era! Sheesh!

  • not a great dental plan in hell!!!

  • That was hilarious too. I love when the toaster kills him and he goes to heaven, but heaven doesn't want him!

  • I love little sister's face when big bad brother steals her jello. :-)

  • Don't forget when she gets beaned by the slice of toast

  • I absolutely LOVE this video. I know I have seen it over 100 times. The guys all look damn fine in baseball uniforms(esp. Gary)

  • Who was the guy that played the brat kid He was so funny

  • I thought that this was a really fun, crazy video. The song is good though I like their period in the 70's by far the best, the 80's stuff was a little too pop for my taste. Then again most good to great 70's band that happened too.

  • You want crap? Just take your pick from today's crop!

  • man what a crap comment...........from a know-nothing nobody.

The song rocks. Deal with it.

  • The bird at the start could appear in the band with that hairstyle

  • Can't believe this is the only copy of the video on here....thanks for the post!

  • Ah yes, WSHE 103.5 "She's Only Rock and Roll"

Great station, great video, thanks for posting it!

  • This video and song are spectacular!!! Tops song!!

  • just like to tell you retrovault2 that some of the video that i'am trying to find is in your channel. well i'm so glad that i subscribe to yours i save lots of time searching. the main point is i forget some of the tittle and the singer. and browsing on your channel is really a big help. not to mention that some are hard to find. lots of thanks to you.now i can put it in my favorite and convert it so i can save it in my documents and download it in my mp3. special mention to one night in bankok

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • This song is definatley one of REO's best. and man, how many characters does Kevin play!

  • Creepy!

  • Thank you for posting this. I've always remembered that REO had some crazy video from the 80's and until tonight could never remember what the hell it was. Thanks again, you've saved what's left of my sanity by proving that it really does exist!!

  • Geat Band, but is one their worst songs and videos.

  • EXCUSE me, T88? This video is hilarious, and the song is rockin'. This was when REO was at the top of their game. Do you even understand what the point of the video is?

  • NO,EXCUSE YOU 3imp! I'm glad you like the video, good for you.I think the song is ok ,but I do not like the video.Just stating my opinion,if you don't like what I have to say-TOO BAD! You are responding to my comment from 2 months ago? Get a life!

  • That chick at the beginning is a bonehead

  • I agree. She is hot in that 80's way but she gets the song title wrong.still,I would eat her like a tossed salad.

  • randolfo33 - Yeah, ditto that on the salad comment! Cheryl's got a sexy voice despite that accent. And back in the day lots of girls had that look. Very hot! Oh yeah, this tune's pretty good too...

  • This was the same year that Queen killed their career in the US with their "I Want to Break Free" video, dressed in drag, and the same year Billy Squier killed his career with the "Rock Me Tonite" video, prancing around like a girl. Obviously REO didn't kill their career with this video cause "Can't Fight This Feeling" was huge and this album went platinum. All I know is my "Good Trouble" tour shirt got laughed at in high school two years earlier,so I knew they weren't cool to like. I didn't care.

  • This is such a fun video!

  • It's too bad REO speedwagon didn't add this tune in their 1988 greatest hits CD. I don't know what the hell they were thinking not adding this tune in that collection.

  • I haven't seen this in years! Funny video, although probably not a great move on the band's part. I especially love the "I don't wanna wear what I'm supposed to wear" and holding up the cheesy red devil suit. It cracks me up every time. Great memories! Thanks for posting this.

  • OMG I haven't seen this in YEARS!!!!!!

Whenever I hear this song I play the video in my head. From the early years of videos and quite entertaining. Thanks!

  • Does anuyone have the "other " Version Of THe In YOur Letteer video?

    Please post it!

  • This video was a career killer for REO. Made them look like a bunch of girls. I like the song, I think even REO hates this video because they won't put this song on even two disk greatest hits or play it in concert anymore. Not exactly a smart thing to do if you want to be taken as rockers......to dress like women.

  • Oh please where did you come up with that??

  • I loved when I was 14,still do at 42.

  • Hey i'm 42 and this song came out around 1984 when I was 18

So how could you like it at 14???

  • Love those guys :).

  • great rock and roll song

  • I remember this video when it was originally aired - much different than today's videos. Bruce Hall looks like one of my aunts here, LOL! and Kevin is pretty scary as the devil, LOL!

  • pixie, I think KC ( Kevin Cronin) is more believable as God in This video rofcmsao...

but poor Gary ,he 's always the odd man out!

  • one of her favorite videos and yet she doesnt even know how to say the name of the song.. yeesh...

  • this video is outrageous...

  • I Do wanna know how much you love me, I Do wanna know how much you care. Applied to every bad boy of the 80's, huh? How many good ladies did we let go down the pike because of bullshit machismo? Anyway, caught them in Odessa Texas on the "Wheels Are Turnin" Tour. Absolutely one of the best. Kevin was on Don't Forget the Lyrics a few weeks back. Older, but still kicking it.

  • Ha ha.. I can't get over the girl saying "I DO Wanna Know."

  • I saw the "Premier" of this video on MTV and Martha Quinn made the same mistake! She corrected herself after the video

  • that was gary with the ball

  • The girl at the beginning says "I DO wanna know." Cheesy.

  • reos #1

  • a fine example of the conduct that Ritalin served to stop..........

  • Is the main character in this video the same guy that plays the knight in their "One Lonely Night" video? Looks similar. Even though this song didn't get much airplay or fanfare it's still one of my favorite Speedwagon songs.

  • Yeah it was the song that got me listening to them...at 7 yrs old I was a total MTV junkie...and I had no idea that they'd been around longer than I had been alive. Then culminated the lifelong dreaming of seeing them live at the age of 21...yeah...at the rib and music festival.

  • Yep, pretty sad where most end up... "and now tonight's headline act here at Fred's Wings and Suds..."

  • Wait long enough the truth is revealed. Yup same guy. I should know, I wrote and directed it. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • I love this song and video even though it's not one of their bigger hits. The main character looks like the knight in their "One Lonely Night" video but not sure if it's him.

  • the woman at the beginning laimed this to be one of her favorites but she didn't even know how to pronounce the title of song

  • ha, yeah...did she call them oreo speedwagon?

  • that was cheryl Lovejoy who misprounced I do' Wanna know...she also called them Oreo speedwagon.. Her accent probably is tha culprit in this matter

  • i know now the inspiration 4 bill & ted movie

yeah another rip-off in the wonderful world of... rock n roll

  • Definitely one of my fave videos from the early good days of MTV ...thanks for posting this, such a great blast from the past, still makes me laff when I watch it hehe

  • Takes me back. Thanks for posting!

  • REo had some great videos! Great song!

  • thanks for great video:)

  • very creative video...one of my favorites back in the day when MTV was young.

  • My fave! Glad I found it, brought back lots o memories! Real clever video......wish they were the same these days!

  • damn funny rem. this from early mtv when i was in high school
