this guy is a great singer and nobody can say he aint, in the 2 bands he was first in he had some pretty big boots to fill, i mean halford and then barlow, but i thought nobody could of joined a band and fitted in so quick and kept these 2 great band going. then malmsteen wanted him and malmsteen dont just have any1. this guy is 1 of the best and all u haters need to clean ya ears out.

I disagree, I think that the speed and thrash elements of Iced Earth were reaching a new and more powerful level with him singing. Matt's great, yet I did'nt see him rising to any great levels, I felt "Horror Show" was a let down. Personally, my favorite albums are "The Glorious Burden" and "Framing Armageddon" and it pisses the shit outta me that they could'nt even let Ripper do the second part. That whole Set Abominae stuff is bullshit to me now, you can't just rip the singer out. Fuck it!

I loved the horror show and I also loves glorious burden, god the music and vocals on horror show are amazing how can you not like it? I do agree I don't like the set abominae stuff anymore, and I liked framing Armageddon more than the crucible of man. IT was a concept album so the music was repetitive and simplified to fit into that "sound"
