I don't think the Comic and the Show can even compare anymore. The Show has strayed so far away from the comic. I don't think their going to go to the jail, or meet Michonne. They killed Dale and all of the characters that are important in the Jail are either already dead or don't exist anymore. (Allen, Dale, Sophia to name a few.)

The problem with this show is that..well... its pretty bad, Ive been reading this material since the beginning. If you want to make a series based on the book but nothing like it, call it something else. I have no problem with making a show about the story itself but dont use these great characters as bait and then screw it up with totally bad TV and confuse bandwagon fans.

@Nikki56505 The Walking Dead on AMC is based off of a comic book (or graphic novel). It looks like AMC animated the comic in this video before it created the tv show. There are differences between the show and the comic, but it's a different medium so they should be different (otherwise why watch something if you know exactly what is going to happen?). The show and comic are both awesome.

Maybe I'm just a nerd, but the zombie at 4:43 gives me hope. The surviving human race, as annoying and terrifying as it will be, merely have to wait out the apocalypse. Wait until a majority of the walkers are too emaciated to move, and just calmly walk around bludgeoning or popping caps in their heads. The walkers are just walking corpses; as with any necrotic tissue, it's gonna rot away. And the Georgia heat is only going to speed that up. :P

@toxic2k7 The zombie was just a girl who had suffered a horrible death at the hands of the other walkers. He gets very personal about it because its the first zombie he really sees (at least in the show) and she obviously went through a very traumatic and terrible experience before being subjected to this degrading existence. It's less about who she was before, but what she is now, and that he wishes she didn't have to be like that. He also was probably sorry for having to shoot her

The hospital scene is much here they should have done it like that in the show because the first episode is really really slow. If the scene was just like this it would have made the pilot that much better.

@OGdbleE I disagree, the pacing of the first ep was great. Everything was built up so well, there wasn't a single moment where I (personally) felt it was slow or was bored. Besides, if the writers had Rick encounter a big crowd of zombies early in the episode, then the final sequence in the city would have have lost its intended effect.

@2234589, Actually the T.V follows the comic pretty closely but expands some of the ideas from the comic, for example the hostpital scene doesn't really last that long in the comic, but the T.V show makes it really intense and you can almost imagine how you would react if you woke up in that situation.

I'm really digging this whole thing, obviously a shot-ton of work went into this and it shows. The music is a little too Tim Burton for my tastes (I always imagined the soundtrack to the comics being very harsh, sparse and unfriendly-sounding, lots of creepy groans and squeals, not the mysterious orchestral score here), but that's my only complaint, and it's more of a personal taste thing. Very top-notch stuff.

I really liked the animation style of this cartoon. It has a very "3d-ish" feeling to it, while still maintaining the original look of the Comic Book. I also found it to be somewhat similar of the Scanner Darkly animation style (but they are not the same, since Scanner Darkly used real actors).
