In you opinion what is the best solutions for wireless remote camera for DSLR that you ever tested? in term of the best control like controlling all aspect of the camera.
@Cybercreeps Hi, Thank you for your question. When it comes to remote control, most "real" situations are unique so there will never be a best system. Each photographer needs to research what is available before buying any remote control system as they tend to be very expensive. I have found the Phottix Hero to be very good for general use. If I go on to list the things that it doesn't do, it does not mean that I don't recommennd it!. It would be better if it could see in the dark i.e. infra red
@Cybercreeps I have used my Canon DSLR from my laptop with a pan/tilt head. The pan/tilt has its own battery and I use 3 active USB cables to give me 60 ft distance laptop-camera. There is a USB hub so that the laptop can also control the pan/tilt. The camera can be set to LIVE VIEW and operated with Canon's own s/ware. Exp and focus are manually controlled but there is no way to zoom (You can zoom the Canon G10 in the same set but not the DSLRs). I hope to put up some videos to show this soon.
@RonThomasPhotography I never use pan and tilt system before... It would be interesting to see it works. Btw Ron... do you have a photography website or blog?
@Cybercreeps Hi, My website is on my channel page. I don't have a blog, there are not enough hours in the day for me to keep a blog going! Have look at this You Tube video as it shows the pan/tilt that I use.
If you have a particular question, please e-mail me via my website. I may not answer quickly as I am quite busy just now.
@Gasteraner Hi, I find it very good to use. It is only suitable in specific situations so it is not a "fix all" solution to remote control. I have done a lot of remote control work over the years and although I constructed something like this some time ago, the Phottix is smaller and lighter. I have also adapted it to work with a radio controled pan/tilt head. I will try to make a video to illustrate this set up in the future.
