People the Bible, speaks through the context of the chapters, you can't just read one verse and understand, you have to read several, and you must also know what hyperboles, metaphors, personifications and other english terms to understand the Bible as well, if you don't you will not ever get how we started. Paul, I am sorry but, there is race pretty much mentioned through the text in Genesis 11...how he confound(confused) our language, and scattered(split us up) abroad the planet...there you have it, sorry but he did split us up, and no one does know the true race? ...NO one, sorry no offense, but we use to be ONE, and our language was ONE, and now he scattered us up, way back then. I do not mean any offense by this. Just the truth, and most people don't realize it..:)
Strictly speaking, there is one race: human race, but there are several ethnic groups. What you underscore are different ethnic groups as they differ in the aspect you refer to. On the other hand, there is one human race, as they are other races such as flora and other inbreeding groups.
However, I can not assess whether or not PW is using the terms interchangably as you did.
If they were decided by man? what...then you are telling me, Eve just thought one day she wanted a korean kid, and then a white kid? and then people just started transforming black? You people seem to believe in Evolution in a way or something, because Genesis 11 specifically tells us where the race and language started. I got my mom telling me that certain things out of the Bible, they way I say it is wrong to, but he is specifically telling us how all our races came to be.
