I'm not defending America's health care system in its present form. You're right, it's VERY expensive, unless you're an illegal alien from Mexico or South America; then the taxpayers get shafted for it.
Like I said, we used to have the best health care system in the world until lawyers and government regulations destroyed it, and by the time Obama's done, we'll have it worse than the Brits.

@hardrocker1998 The auto industry is failing because of unions and over regulation... Cafe standards is one example. It was SUPPOSED to happen though exactly when it happened because that was the plan all along.
You think it was a coincedence that GM and Chrysler failed and the government took it over just as Obama was getting into office? And what did Obama do with the companies? Why, hand it over to the unions of course because unions vote Democrat.

Unions served their purpose in the past. Now they just leech off of corporations and force them to find work overseas. What industry is flourishing with union work?
Your point that many honest people need government programs is understood but theres just as many lazy people milking the system. The Socialist tag on Canada was in regards to all the government programs and radio/tv restrictions you guys have up there. Having a 10th of our population also makes it easier to do more for your people

My problem with entitlements is that, while the idea is noble, youre paying people to not produce and eventually the system will implode under its own weight. Its happening in Europe and America and already happened in Russia. People can laugh at Americas demise but dont understand that we're the ones creating everyone else's economy.

We differentiate ourselves by the choices we make. If they really wanted to better themselves they could! Libraries are free, if you want to get educated. Lots of millionaires out there were self-educated. And at the very least they could create opportunities that THEY DIDNT have for their children. They have no right to rob ME of the opportunities i would have otherwise provided for my OWN children over some sick notion of "fairness."
