I love this where the lovebirds repeatedly fly into the clump of cattails where a female red-winged blackbird has her nest and chases them off with that attitude that says... visit my young in the nest? I DONT THINK SO!
awesome man but watch for hawks the whole time their out.... it would suck for one of ur kids to see a hawk grab one... when i was 12 i found a baby bat and raised it on grape jelly and like a dumb***let it go during the day and a red tail hawk grabbed it LOL wasnt funny then but im ok now
hey! i have a pet lovebird too! i've been training him to free flight recall for a pretty long time now and in many different places and situations. but i'm not so sure yet when to take it outside? not sure when they are really ready. But they are almost 100% accurate in coming back when i recall train them indoors. Any advice? how long did it take for you to train this birds? they are just wonderful! your advice would be very much appreciated! thanks!
Thats what its all about! The intersting thing is that these hand raised lovebirds live free in the balcony in Cartagena Colombia. Surprisingly so the hybrid you see was lured by the others and stayed! Another intersting fact is that sometimes peregrine falcons and other predators try to catch my birds but they have not lost their survival instincts, they dive into the dense forest in front of my building and dissapear. They are safe from snakes at night because they sleep in their cages.
wow thas amazing. how do you train them ?

Glad you enjoy the vids. It's a rewarding hobby for me and my kids. Each of my 3 kids have a bird and we free fly them on a daily basis at parks.
