Not allowing players to control the pets in The Sims 2 was a blunder. I'm so glad they fixed that in The Sims 3 version.

Sims 3 pets does look good but i do believe the sims 2 is more fun :s and i have played sims 3 i have late night and generations but i don't have the same level of fun as i did with sims 2 and not just because of the way they look but i like the graphics more and the things available to do. Sims 3 has too many rabbit holes i like going into the shops and buying clothes not just picking from the cupboard or waiting for my sims to come out of a restaurant.

So far i have only got sims 2 double deluxe so the base game and nightlife and ive ordered seasons which one should i get next? i like this one but i also like bon voyage because of the swimmable ocean :s but business and uni look so much fun ( not keen on apartment life and free time although they are good games they aren't my first choice).

Am I not the only one who thinks this expansions should've added a "nature" aspiration? High wants could be like "adopt a pet" or "harvest trees" (with seasons) whilst simple ones could be "feed dog" or "see rain" (with seasons)

@novideosforme123 it is definitely worth it :3 you get pets (and can breed them), pet supplies, new stories and interactions, werewolves, etc. It is my favorite out of all the sims 2 expansions :3

@novideosforme123 Holy crap, of course it's worth it! Best. Expansion. Ever! Especially if you're an animal lover like moi. As for the Sims...they don't add much. I got the "fun with pets" three pack, which came with "Family Fun Stuff". That gave me a lot more furniture and flooring and wallpaper for the sims. But that's a stuff pack that just came with The Sims 2 pets, so it doesn't really count.

instead of our normal pets we should have farmlife, that way we get cows chickens pigs horses and then train the dogs to herd the animals like a sheep and the cats to keep mice from coming in your house and eating your food, and so on.... :)

@XxAri4naxX well, sometime if you have to many ppl or not a big enough lot they wouldnt let you have babies, my first litter i had was a large house with only one sim and a male and female dog in the backyard, but you also have to have a high enough friend ship with the pet to tell it ti mate, type in testingcheatsenabled true in your neghborhood, not your house, and u can drag the relationship up, hope that helped :)

@bman10981 there is a cheat, press (shift ctrl c) and type in your neighborhood, (not while your in your house, it wont work that way) type "controlpets on" without the " " its been a while, but i think thats it, also "testingcheatsenabled true" can help you drag up relationships health and more stuff, and if it doesnt work someone would have a vid about it :)

the sims 2 pets expansion has to be installed in a dif place then sims 2. it means that you cant install sims 2 pet in your EA games file XD btw now you gotta reinstall sims2 and pets if you wana play it :P

it happend to me and i didnt realise it till i read the manuel for pets.. about 2 hours after i kept reinstalling them.... lol
