its still a 250 2 stroke and lol 650 4 stroke :P but i see the advantage of the 250 RACING bike and the 650supermoto, the guy on the 250 i flat out while the husa guy dosent even bend hes head... and the aprilia rs 250 is a 2cylinder v engine..
Surely you were just playing with him??? I know the Husaberg's have short gear ratios because i have an FE 550, but they are bloody quick and they weigh almost the same as a 50cc moped
The Aprilia RS 250 has custom exhausts, raised exhaust port timing, modified ignition and jetting, it runs much faster than a stock RS 250, that's why the Husaberg had a difficult time to keep up with the RS 250. ;)
@380erSumo and guilly6669 You are both wrong. The last 2 stroke 500's made about 200 horse and the very, very last 250's made 110-115 horse. Current 125's in Motogp 125 make close to 60. Go look at the new 2 stroke Suter SRT 500, it makes almost 215 horse and weighs 270 lbs. There's not a normally aspirated 4 stroke up to 1200cc that makes this kind of power. The 2 stroke is the most powerful form of gasoline kinetic energy we have. And new E-tec 2 strokes match the best 4 strokes for economy.
Yes,you´re right.And a 1300cc Hayabusa will also beat any 600cc bike!
Today the 600cc supersport bikes have about 130hp and 180kg okay, but the rs250 is not a high tech bike, this is old school power from the 90´s.Bad comparison buddy.
(For information the 250cc 2 stroke "racebikes" had over 90hp and the 500cc 2 strokes had over 140hp and that about 15 jears ago)
@380erSuMo Yep i know that. But hey if the makers wanted to make a 600cc 2 stroke with the best of the best technology and materials we have nowadays, off course it would have lot more HP than the 2 stroke bikes from the 90's.
But I personally prefer the 4stroke engine, for the sound and fuel economy...
@380erSuMo No, 2 stroke 500 GP produced over 200HP. While today's Moto GP 600cc 4 stroke bikes make 130HP. But yes the TZR 250 GP spec made 90HP only because it was twin cylinder, if it was 4 cylinders it would eat up today's (GP) 600s let alone retail 600s. A 600CC banshee twin cylinder motor can make 140HP today. Just imagine if that was 4 cylinders.
Fartburg 650 top speed 110 mph RS250 top speed 125 mph.........the dude on the 250 was either taking the p!ss, or he can't ride a smoker.

A 250 2 Stroke lives longer than a 650 Husaberg, because its a single zylinder.. my dad's 250 RS lived about 30k km and a Husaberg about 10k - 15k..
