  • simply ..............WWAAAAOOOOOO

  • Imagine you actually got one of these and one day you decided you were going to take it apart. On re-assembly you make an idiot scratch. What will you do next?

  • wooow what a beaut!!!!

  • a normal ferrari is an very unique and expensive car, this guns is like ferrari made a car exclusiv to you.....

  • Holy crap. 77 000 for a gun? It's nice but, wow. you have to be pretty devoted!

  • Ohhh...lá em casa!!!!...Que beleza!!!

  • I want it NOW

  • soooooooooooooooooo does anybody know howmuch this piece is?

  • @topo2407 The two models on display at SHOT were sold / auctioned. I believe one brought about $77,000 and the other perhaps around $30,000. I'm less sure about the price of the less expensive 1911.

  • @canonhf20 too steep for my pockets then

  • @topo2407 this one sold at auction for around 43,000 i believe

  • @topo2407 Dunno if its been said already but I believe the auction that sold for $77k also included a paid trip to the colt factory for a tour. I was watching the auction on gunbroker back when it was happening.

  • i wonder how much that things gonna bring in

  • But will it Blend?

  • @megacptMurphy , I agree as this is at the end of the day a anniversary gun of the 1911 and should defiantly have John browning's face, after all it was his invention. Anyway, it is still a beautiful gun :)

  • I own 2 1911's a S&W .45

And a Springfield armory 38 super

  • Gun looks very nice but why put Samuel Colt on it when its a John M Browning's design that is turning 100 years old? Give credit where it is due John Browning is "the" definitive gun designer of all time IMO

  • @megacptMurphy

John Browning couldn't have mass produced it without Colt's pocketbook. sure, he could have released his design on his own, but would it have been as wildly popular and/or scored so many government contracts? doubtful.

that being said, I agree, lol, I think Sam Colt's face on the grip is a little out of place. but like you said, give credit where credit is due. I could have a genius idea, but without the help of others that are more well established, I would get nowhere.

  • @megacptMurphy

the Browning Hi-Power came out well after the original 1911, and it did pretty good, but how many people do you know that own 1911's, and how many do you know that own Hi-Power's?

I'm not trying to be a troll, but I'm sensing a bit of bias here, and I thought I'd address it.

to sum it up, I think credit should be shared between John Browning and Colt's COMPANY... but not Sam Colt himself.

  • @NOLA556 You ask me how many people I know with Hi-Power compared to 1911's. I ask you how many guns have you seen in your lifetime that look like the 1911 45ACP design. The real leap in firearms was the successful move away from 6 shot revolvers (that's where Sam Colt should be celebrated) to the age of semi and fully auto firearms of which JB was the most influential figure 1911-BAR-M1917-M2 to name the more famous ones. I say JB design he should be celebrated not the guy that made $ off it

  • Wow that looks nice.

  • is 45 or 38super???

  • YEA! steve and george looks awesome!
