  • I have never been anorexic, but I constantly have their thoughts and i rarely to never eat around classmates/friends/acquaintances.

  • I find these documentaries painful to watch as I have had anorexia from 14, the thoughts starting at 13. Though they are helpful to me in a way, I mean if a 12 year can recover from such a tough mental disorder, then surely a 17 year old stands a chance. (I am 17 now).

  • If someone tried to force feed me I'd hit them! Just try it lady and you'll have a black eye...

  • I understand that people think that the way this is done is wrong but I know from experience that a) physical health must be addressed first in order for mental health to be dealt with effectively b) the reason that they have to eat so many "fatty foods" is because these are fear foods that need to be overcome, and these high calorie foods are essential for refeeding - which is the primary purpose of inpatient facilities. That may seem harsh but that's the facts.

  • These people are horrible, not once yet have I heard about them getting help for their mental well being. Forcing them to eat a certain way and eating high calorie food and treating them like their animals isn't going to help AT ALL. This woman needs to be shut down and these kids need a better clinic where they can actually get help.

  • oh my! tou would think if they were going to feed them anything it would be healthy and not thar rubbish! >:\

  • stuffing food in their mouth wont take out the emotional pain....its always gunna come back

  • Some of the people commenting on this video really need better knowledge about anorexia

  • coming from someone who deals with this on a daily basis ( i AM anorexic ) I think they're doing a good job. I have a fear of eating, fat, calories, and not exercising. I have a fear of food that isn't healthy. They're telling the girls that they shouldn't be afraid of food, and that it's OK to eat fat. They eat so much because they are underweight and need to gain it back, and 2000 a day doesn't do that, only more than.

  • @edwardsbella1000 But what they feed them isn't healthy food or healthy fat. Fish and chips is just plain junk. Why can't they feed them a nice salmon with an avocado salad...Something that is full of healthy fat and high in calories.

  • Very bad clinic, and horrible woman. So glad clinics here are diffrent.

  • Ffs!, I know dee comes off as a bit of a bitch but at the end of the day, she's an expert, we're not, so I think she knows best snm

  • Diddo

  • I am not going to make myself go off into a rant, but what irks me is when she said "the food here does have a high percentage of fat. Well, it's not a high percentage of fat but it's got a higher percentage of fat than YOU PEOPLE would choose to eat, but it is not higher than what NORMAL PEOPLE would choose to it".

in the therapy she said those exact words, and I have bolded those that have annoyed me. They are normal, but ill. When did they suddenly not become normal people and become aliens?

  • Jesus Christ the sheer idiocy of these comments is unreal. For a start, these girls DO receive healthy meals, the fish and chips were a once a week thing, to help the girls break their obsessive thoughts.

Secondly, they need FAR MORE calories than the average person because they have ruined their bodies with the eating disorder and need calories to repair the damage, not just to gain weight!

Bloody brainwashed by the media, all of you - there is no such thing as bad food! Just use moderation!!

  • High fat will put weight on quickly but the whole point should be to introduce them back to eating and doing it healthy so they'll stick to it. They won't be going back into the world eating fish, chips, chocolate and peanut butter! Teach them to eat a balance meal so that they won't feel 'guilty' eating at all. Most veggies are low calorie but they are high in nutrients that the body needs! Rice and fruits are great too!

  • The one difference I see between this place and the Sweden facility (see Stockholm Solution) is that here they fry everything and put butter all over the bread and in Sweden they seem to have a healthy meal with broccoli, veggies and rice - maybe some meat. I would think, mentally, I would want to encourage a healthy diet so that it wouldn't be so traumatic having them eat high fat!

  • If ur a vegetarian they will reintroduce u to meat. Well that's what they did at the clinic I was at. They don't care if ur veg...

  • What if your a vegetarian when you arrive at that place. Do they still make you eat meat products? Or would they make you sit there till you eat it? really meaning that they force you to eat what you don't like..... And yes, I'm a anorexic, a vegetarian, and I do count every calorie written. But that doesn't mean I'm going to quit because someone is telling me too......

  • Also, the woman who was speaking to these girls and calling them 'You people' and comparing them to 'normal people' is a moron!!! Why would you make these girls who are obviously hurting and have low self esteem feel even worse about themselves by reiterating that they are different and not normal???

  • (continued) one another by saying 'these are the girls who can be trusted, and these are the ones who can't'. I understand needing to be sure they are actually eating what is being served, but they're still people and still deserve respect. How do you expect these girls to WANT to improve if they feel as if nobody trusts or believes them?

  • I'm all for helping these children, but doesn't sound the right way to go about it AT ALL! First of all they are deprived of nutrients as well as fat, so why the hell are they being fed crap? Doesn't this clinic understand that there are healthy, yet fattening foods available as opposed to chocolate and chips? Not only that, but the concept of the 'blue and brown rooms' is ridiculous. You're basically taking girls who already feel alone and isolated and separating them even more from (continued)

  • I hate that fact that when shes talking to them she refers to them as ' you people' and compares them to 'the normal people'..because when someone has low selfesteem, social problems and an illness that alienates them from everyone, the last thing you want to do if make them feel even more separated by the vocabulary you chose.. You would think for someone that runs an eating disorder clinic she would know that.

  • @chargedchaos I'm sorry, but I disagree. Many (successful) treatment facilities honor the concept of healthy living, to teach the anoretics that food should be nutritious and provide life. Food doesn't have to mean fat. You're not just "breaking a phobia" here. You need to show them how to live again.

Trust me, I went through it, and that is what worked for me and countless others.

  • Aww I seriously want to know how Natasha's doing.

  • ew, the tube sounds nasty. im not anorexic and im dead afraid if someone wanted me to eat that, not even using the tube. i mean, peanut butter and chocolate.... :S

  • that's the worst clinic ever!!! what ever happened to healthy food???

  • Has anyone noticed that most of the girls in this are really good looking? it says something when they're the ones most concerned about their weight, and it's probably society's fault, for promoting skinny over curvy for years.

  • I think this clinic is "know" because all of anorexics there are afraid to return to this place...This woman is very very bad in this job..

  • I'm pretty sure the high fat foods are to get them out of the danger zone.

  • So sad :(

  • no communications to anyone outside the clinic???

fuck no wonder theyre still ana . . .

  • i can see what they are trying to do here, they are desperatly trying to save them physically but with any addiction you can only truely recover if you want to. it can NOT be forced

  • that place looks like a horrible place to go...

  • 0:04 those tater toots look so good right now. its midnight where im at and i need a midnight snack

  • Oh my god. Yes, because two phone calls with your parents and one 30 minute phone call with a friend is enough for these girls to get better. Do they want the girls to not have any friends when they get out, and then get more depressed and go back to square one?

  • this place should be closed. they aren't feeding these kids healthily at all. these poor girls

  • "The food you eat here doesnt have a high content of fat...." Most meals at Rhoads are fried, full of butter or covered in a sauce with cream in. You have to eat a large chocolate bar everyday, plus a large pudding like toffee sponge with custard, jam sponge and ice cream, etc. The diet is super high calorie, high fat. Vegetarian options are not allowed. Hardly healthy eating. Its more "fatten up then discuss healthy eating!"

  • their approach is really dumb...why would they give anorexics such unhealthy foods? Doesn't that make their relationship with food worse? I've had an E.D for 2 years, and i can tell you, I'm a whole lot less stressed around healthy food!

  • " it's higher in fat than YOU PEOPLE eat compared to NORMAL PEOPLE" !!?? okay I have seen this documentary and the one about Dana the 8 year old anorexic and dee was in both and I strongly appose her way of thinking, whether not it works in helping them

  • Theres more ways to gain weight than eating junk food all the time!!!! Your just causing them to be more depressed and higher chance of diabetes. There are yogurts, meats, salad dressings, bread, cheese, beans... Not just all this fat foods that just makes them feel even worse. Im no expert but seriously anyone knows that.!

  • Bloody hell... This isn't right at all... It's as if the patients are all treated like prisoners. They also should not be fed full fat foods, and fried things everyday. That's rediculous. They should be having healthy foods which will then help them feel better about themselves. The fried foods will make them even more depressed!

  • This i disappointing to me. Feeding eating disorder sufferers with fatty foods and forcing them to stuff it all down is the worst option you could make. Because then, the kids do not learn how to eat in moderation, understand a healthy relationship with food, and learn not to be "scared" of feeling full. There are high calorie options that cause healthful weight gain, such as wholegrain pasta, avocados, nuts, and full fat yogurts/ensure. These kids will be relapsing the moment they're released.

  • In a way, im glad that I am not being treated in this way. Even though at times I complain, I much prefer what I have to do.

  • WTF!? CMON, its okay to make those girls eat, but FRIED food it's like the worst food ever for you to eat, even if u are trying to gain weigth, that's not healthy AT ALL, i recovered from my anorexia and i didn't have to eat shitty fried food, and the problem behind anorexia is when u stop being anorexic, now i tend to eat food and purge it, i'm a bulimic now and it really turns my life upside down, it's horrible.

and wtf, LET THE GIRL MASTICATE, LET HER HAVE SOME TIME U FUCKING ASSHOLES -_-

  • Is that what shes supposed to be doing? She's separating them from other people. "you people" and "normal people"

  • omg!

  • I really really hate Rhodes Farm. I really hate this place.

    They're such terrible people.

  • This place doesn't seem to address the the cause, just fattens up the girls and then sends them back out with the same mind set. I's not about diet, it's about control.

  • WHAT MUSIC IS PLAYING!!!! i need to know what the artists are please respond

  • the workers are fucking bitches, they dont know anything about mental disorders

  • errrrgggggggggggggggggg what are they trying to do that is just not cool. it's horrible foods they are feeding them. fried stuff what are they trying to do. ick ick ick!

  • Whoever is interested about the real cause of anorexia should really check out psychoanalyst Lacan’s theory about it. Anorexia isn’t about wanting to be thin and pretty, it’s not about fear of growing up or the media effects at all, it’s about putting a limit to mothers or whoever plays the mother role. Anorexic’s mothers are so peculiar in different ways. They eat their kids metaphorically and so anorexia is the only way to put a stop to that.

  • In another documentary about Rhodes Farm the lady running it states that she opened the centre because she would see people with anorexic children & think "give me a week and i'd have her eating". The centre was born out of her ego, it's obvious from watching both documentaries that she has lost her touch. Shes bored, no longer has the flair that she used to have. She used to treat the children like her own & involve them so they felt like they were part of a family. Now it is like a hospital.

  • I saw this documentary a few years ago and I truly hope Naomi is better now. She was the one girl there that was obviously the most overtaken by her disorder and suffering the most.

    :(

  • Amazingly enough those at the clinic are severly underweight. Such foods that you're complaining about them being given, are neccesary. They're not always going to recover at Rhodes farm, but gain the weight needed so that they're no longer in danger due to being as underweight and unhealthy as they are. Their bodies are starved. Think about it. Also, hardly any contact with family is sometimes better for the patients. Some places don't even allow that. Everyone and thing is different. Be real.

  • @spektorforever they feed them high amounts of food so that their stomachs can enlarge and so that their body wont just chuck out the food because there is more then it is used to so instead of chucking all of it out it uses it. once they get the weekend trips i think they get lowered by 200 calories the amount they need, and then when they go home for good they get lowered again by abit. not sure how much. but by then their stomach size is around about normal. :)

  • this is fairly old documentary, its firstly not made entirely for informative purposes and probably more for entertainment and interests reasons ( to make a good telly show)

it was made quite a while ago, before more actual medical and psychotherapy studies were carried out so maybe the practices dont seem the best, but theres no doubt this place DOES HELP some sufferers its often a last resort for most parents for their children

  • as people have said before, the woman running the center is going about it all backwards. she should strive to make meal times pleasant for the girls--even those that have to be monitored-- to try and help improve their relationship with food. also they don't seem to have any sort of caring psychiatric component to this place to help the girls improve their own self image so no wonder they're gaining weight but still having the anorexic thoughts! all they talk about in group is food!

  • I hate how that bitch referred to the girls as 'you people'. Horrible clinic, horrible woman, and she does NOT know what she is talking about.

  • This looks like torture, I'd smash every person there. LOL

  • Horrible clinic...now the Montreux clinic in Canada is where a suffering, EDed child or person should be..they treat the sufferers with respect and unending love/understanding..that is how to get an EDed person into recovery and conquer this demon for the rest of their lives.

  • @MadMadamJess I wonder if you are aware of the controversy over Montreux's malpractice (including abuse, absence of medical doctors, and grossly unqualified counseling staff), which has led to it being closed several years ago. The founder of the clinic, Peggy Claude Pierre, can hardly be considered a professional, and her clinic boasted recovery rates which were highly inflated. Unlike Montreux, Rhodes Farm has proven its worth and many insurance companies subsidize treatment there.

  • @cortne03 because they need to gain weight fast. orthwise their hearts will fail and they'll die. They NEED the extra fat, because they have none to begin with, whereas a healthy person already has some and only needs to regulate it. they have very different needs, being so thin. that stuff is only really healthy to someone normal or above average wieght.

  • I dont understand why it is necessary to feed them fattening, unhealthy things like chocolate and chips? Maybe they can teach them to be super healthy and just have salad and veggies and stuff instead..?

  • the people administering the clinic should learn how to talk to anorexics, they're people like everyone else.

  • I can´t believe with all the knowledge there is about anorexia they are actually running the clinic like this... I mean, there is almost always the issue of wanting control, and they are taking it away from the girls so violently... they seem to be treating the outside more than the inside and that´s not right. I´d like to see how many of the girls relapse once they´re out or later in life :(

  • I hate how dee says ' you people' and 'normal people'. I AM NORMAL!!!

  • My eating disorder was impossible to control, i remember: max. 6 calories a day, 6 hours of jogging...

When i got the first time to the hospital for my eating disorder, they understood, and started with liquid foods, after they started making my plates bigger... BUT NEVER FRIED THINGS! most of it was lettuce and bread.

  • @AlexLonelyPhobia That is interesting. 6 Cals a day? But I agree, fried food is awful. There are other kind of food they could give them than arterie clogging crap. And you kind of remind me of Chris Dakota in your vids.

  • @Mimibie They have to give a complete meal with : meat or tofu, lettuce, bread or rice and a fruit.

and then they can start making the plates bigger or adding new things but IN SMALL amounts.

I remember when they forced me to eat something, i runned to the toilet and vomited everything.

My opinion is; they should be more patient and understanding.

Anorexia is unfortunately a common eating disorder.

Oh and thank you for saying that i look like chris dakota ^^ he's so cute!

  • @GiveMadelineBack

    Sorry but maddy is dead

    That's it

  • Omg 25 minutes is not long enough to eat! I had a hard time with 30 minutes. It's better for you to eat slower anyway. And I so agree about the fried food too.

  • I'm a 5.6 feet tall 18 year old girl with an average weight and even "I" can't eat 2500 in a day.... except when i go to a buffet then I'm so full I feel sick... so imagining that feeling every day is awful but if that's what it takes for these children to stay alive then it is necessary.

  • I agree with what she is doing but it does seem wrong how much food she is giving them. If a girl had been straving herself for months then given 3 meals of say 2k cals it would be a shock to her body though they arent showing you all of it just parts.

  • It's DISGUSTING how they tube feed these girls! All this high fat stuff is NOT balanced, they should use the bags of liquidised, balanced food like Fresubin, like, DESIGNED for that use. Idiots.

  • @xXShockSetsInXx Yeah seriously, how the hell are these kids gonna learn healthy eating habits if you're encouraging eating food that not only makes you fat, but is so fucking unhealthy all around.

  • @GabeForSale2K Yep, I think so too.

  • ugh at my treatment place I had to eat 3500 calories a day. 1000 more than these kids.

  • lolz. the funniest part is that NONE of us are paying a scrap of attention!x

  • if you wanna give them fat, give em nuts, avocado. FISH AND CHIPS!??!!? Fat ass Dee...can't stand her.

  • wow she said "you people, not normal people"...would love to see how many recover from this shit hole.

  • I think ther are trying to make foie gras with those children's livers...

  • In treatment we were feed high cal, but in respect healthy-ish food and I still didn't eat it, how the heck do these girls deal with it. You should never force someone with an eating disorder to recover, they have to want it.

  • I know its for the best but this place is like a prison! If you want the girls to eat more, fine! but you don't need to feed them crap! And giving them limited time to eat is just adding pressure! Wrong attitude to helping these girls, they should be given reassurance and firm encouragement not added pressure and fear.

  • Fried chips? Yes they need to gain weight but why are they giving them such crappy food...fine gve them chips but cook them in the bloody oven unless you want them to die of a heart attack from clogged up arteries instead.. is that not common knowledge?

  • if you ask me, this clinic is sick, maybe even more than the girls themselves. How can you expect to help these girls battling the illness in their heads by forcing them to eat such aweful things as fried food and chocolate?!!! They're only making the girls' condition worst, making them dread to eat, rather than learning to become comfortable with food. Please, someone close this clinic :( ...or at least hire an EDUCATED staff, not these tw*ts..

  • I think everyone is getting the wrong end of the stick here.

The girls are being made to eat fried food for 2 reasons. A. To put on weight and repair the damage they have done to their bodies and B. To break their strict, obsessive rules and mentality towards food. People without EDs can quite happily eat fish and chips without going crazy with guilt afterwards and reacting abnormally to it; these girls can't. Also, they need more calories than average to repair the damage they have done.

  • Am I the only one that found the use of the terms "you people," when referring to the group of anorexic girls and, "normal people," when referring to people without an eating disorder somewhat degrading (around 7:16)?

  • All what they say is very true!

  • it seems like the concentration is solely about food.... it isnt about the food at all. theyre going about this the wrong way, i feel like these girls arent going to be able to cope with this disease after they get out, it doesnt seem theyre getting the right care in this place...

  • Tube feeding: 'Full fat cream, chocolate spread and peanutbutter.' Where's the nutrients in THAT? Whatever happened to ensure or jevity?

  • @Milkandpops The point is to get calories and huge amounts of fat (b/c it is high in calories and helps prevent water retention, which carbohydrates would promote), regardless of relatively superficial concerns regarding vitamins and other nutrients. Ensure contains tons of vitamins, minerals, etc, but calorie-wise, it is very poor compared to things like peanut butter (protein and fat) and cream (fat and much-needed calcium). They will get their nutrients later. :)

  • @Milkandpops I think shes trying to feed them what kids eat

  • @Milkandpops I can understand trying to fatten them up as quick as possible because most of them are so close to death but damn. If i was in this clinic i would probably kill myself.

  • @Milkandpops agreed. they've not only been fat deprived but nutrient deprived. if she really feels she must give them fat immediately can't she give them unsaturated fats like avocado or olive oil along with healthy meats and vegetables? she's just going to make them sicker, and more and more terrified of high fat foods which fixes nothing.

  • the lady that's running the center seems to be taking the wrong approach. she feeds them very high fat foods, not that they're bad, but 24/7? seriously. also, she addressed them as "you people" and then said "you people eat differently than other people". like, what??? and only 2 phone calls a week? you're gonna scar the girls for life! i would cry if i was there and couldn't talk to my parents often. btw i am a recovered anorexic. i didn't have treatment but my parents helped me :)

  • @spektorforever I agree. Because people in centration camps would often die because they went from eating nothing to high fats and their bodies couldn't handle it. I understand she wants to show food is not bad but one extreme to another isn't smart

  • @spektorforever I think that they take a fine approach. I don't like how she called them 'you people' either, but they don't feed them only fat. She feeds them a bit more than average, but that is because their bodies are *SO* starved that their brains can actually start shutting down because they have no fuel. And usually they give 2 phone calls a week, because they want the children to be somewhat independent and *very* recovery focused. Phone calls, music etc . can be a distraction from that.

  • @spektorforever I think the high fat content are to put the weight back on them, but i agree that it's far too strict. It's not going to teach them proper eating habits at all.

  • @spektorforever When you are dealing with people who are so drastically underweight, their metabolism is completely screwed up and is functioning extremely slowly just to survive. The best way to kick-start it is to feed them high-fat foods to beef up their caloric intake to very high levels. Also, when severely underweight people start putting on weight, they can develop water retention problems. Those are exacerbated by carbohydrates but alleviated by a diet that is up to 30-40% fat.

  • @spektorforever I think either later on she says it or in something else, she isn't doing this to get them emotionally better she's doing it get there weight up. That's the goal. Everything else is second hand. And maybe only two phone calls will give them incentive to eat right and then go home.

  • @spektorforever I think either later on she says it or in something else, she isn't doing this to get them emotionally better she's doing it get there weight up. That's the goal. Everything else is second hand. And maybe only two phone calls will give them incentive to eat right and then go home. And there's taking away the control. That's a huge thing.

  • @spektorforever I think you can ring people up more times in a psych unit then you can there!

  • @spektorforever YOURE RIGHT!! they try to fatten them up its really not the way to approach it

  • You need to eat usually at least 2500 calories to gain a kg a week. HOWEVER I would imagine they do not start you straight on that amount. Infact in most clinics they build it up very gradually to prevent the sufferer from getting re-feeding syndrome.... However I do not understand why they give them fried foods, I guess it is to eliminate the fear of different foods. It isnt un healthy to have these foods as part of a balanced diet though....

  • Natashas maturity is really admirable, especially considering she was only 12!

  • I can't believe it either, it's such nonsense they are basically gorging up those kids so they gain the weight quickly to be allowed to go home ! it can"t do them any good it's one way to start them into purging if they didn't do it before and it's also certain that they will restrict even more back home.

fried food is nothing healthy, they should teach them better ways to eat food containing average quantities of fat, they have to do it gradually.

  • Lovely terminology, Dee. "You people". She sounds really patronizing. I can't believe I nearly ended up at Rhodes Farm myself. Dee doesn't run it anymore.

  • they should really be feeding them more of a balanced diet. eating meals so high in calories and fat aren't suitable for normal-sized people, let alone anorexia sufferers

  • That clinic really has the wrong idea.....

  • They don´t care whether the food is healthy and they don´t teach those girls how to eat healthily, they just want them gain weight as fast as possible, so they give them all those shits like chips and other fried food. They don´t teach them how to accept their bodies, how to live with their bodies, they just want them fat, so they can kick them out of their fu*king farm and get some money for their treatment.

  • 2500cals is far too much to be feeding them! they are going to end up with more health problems then they began with..

  • U people? Normal people? How does that help?

  • Wow, feeding them fried foods, chips, and chocolate?

Totally not the way to do it.

  • Ok, Im anerexic and I have to gain weight also. And there are betters ways to gain weight other than eatting fast food. I mean feeding them fast foods make them want to exercise even more..and they could exercise themselves to death.

  • Fried food is disgusting.......I would never eat that..

  • Yes, that fattening food is just making them hate food even more

  • @jindantang Sufferers have "fat phobia" one of ways to combat phobia happens to be exposure. I'm pretty sure they're not pumping the children with fried foods. Also, foods rich in fat (healthy fats) are not bad because it's necessary for our bodies.

  • 2,500 cals a day?! They're children! That's far too much for anyone let alone a child who has major issues with this.

  • If I were there that woman would fucking hear from me. 'YOU people'. 'NORMAL people would...' Just because I have an ED doesn't mean I'm not a fucking human-being.

  • i cant beleive how horrible they are to them and how insulting wen she said "wat YOU people eat" theyr treating them like sumthing completely different from another planet or sumthing eugh god it makes me sick

  • That Woman is a dick.

  • I know there trying to help the kids but these people kind of piss me off they should build up the amount of given food for each sepereate person. Like start with something small then progress it up each week or something

  • The food looks so disgusting! Even a person without anorexia would get nauseous. It would be much more apealing to eat if the food was plated nice. When I was admitted we were served on white plates, linnennapkins, linnencloths, candles and flowers on the tables. We got a threecourse meal two times a day that was better than a huge olate covered with the same amounts of calories. The therapist made our mealtimes to a nice time, and it was suggested that we should put on nicer clothes,

  • I just don't get it. no anorexia girl in the world can tell me a good reason to starve themselves. it's stupid, people shouldn't care what other people think, but they do anyways. they must have forgotten that this disease KILLS.

  • @xXxDMP8xXx thats why its a mental disease..

it is caused probably by others calling them fat or by seeing models and their bonethinness and they think that the only thing that is important is looking thin and pretty and that fat means ugly.

which of course it isnt.... so dont start calling anorexia STUPID

  • "They must eat everything put in front of them, from chips to chocolate..."

What the hell? Why don't they feed the kids NUTRITIOUS food?? I know they want high-calorie meals, but to FORCE them to eat that crap?? Give me a break. There are many other nutritious, calorie-rich foods/desserts to feed the children.

    What idiots.

  • @jazmella name 4 nutritious high calorie meals.

i seriously can only think of like 1...

  • "You people". Wow lady. Nice way to make them feel like freaks and not like children that are suffering from a disease.

  • : (

  • Too bad they're going to turn these beautiful girls into fat slobs. this is nothing but overweight washed up middle aged women trying to make young girls ungly and fat.

  • @Ubanga33 You sir, are a fucking bellend. These girls are on death's door. They can have a heart attack at any moment, lose their hair, teeth and nails and ultimately die in agony. Please dig yourself a hole and stay there.

  • @xmintyx13 And you received your medical degree where? Oh you're not a doctor? So you're just posting your opinion that they are on 'death's door'? Did you examine the patients? No? They look very pretty and very healthy to me, I don't see them losing their hair or nails . That is silly. Matter of fact, if you did any follow up you would know that these girls are not only still alive but very healthy and very beautiful to this day. Not fat slobs like women of today.

  • @Ubanga33 And where's your medical degree you buffoon?

If they're so fucking healthy, why have they been admitted numerous times into hospital to receive treatment? Because they're parents want them to be fat? Shut the fuck up you troll.

You don't have to be skinny to be healthy (and obviously being fat isn't healthy). Equally, you don't have to be bone thin to be attractive. It's twats like you and the corrupted media that twist people's opinions of themselves and shatter their self esteem.

  • they should not be giving them fried foods. that is so unhealthy. u can get high cals from mufas...not this shit!

  • 2500 is a little too harsh.

  • @Tzukume i was on 3350 at my old clinic :/

  • That was group therapy? I only saw one person spitting facts at a bunch of girls..........

  • I think it's horrible that they are making them eat fried foods. Whether you need to gain weight or not, fast foods are never good! They are clogging their arteries. Why aren't they feeding them things like avocados and nuts to gain weight?

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY I think the idea is to get them to there target weight as quickly as possible and then discharge them.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY : I think it has to do with teaching them that they can eat chips and chocolate once in a while, there is nothing wrong with that... they are kids and should be able to enjoy a snack as well, even though they are now scared to death for it.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY because they have to gain weight, they are all bone thin

  • @XXXTheEpicMeowXXX that's true! but there are healthier ways to gain weight.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY Because they are so dangerously underweight that nutrients isn't an issue. All they need is fats. And It's easier to get them to eat fried foods and to make them cave in.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY I'm pretty sure they are being fed healthy meals. The announcer mentioned that "fish and and chips is the most dreaded meal of the week" so I guess it's just a weekly thing.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY yes, those foods are unhealthy, but the point is that they are the most terrifying. when i had an eating disorder it was the junk food crap that i would have a breakdown over, not avocadoes. now, i can take it or leave it. it's not scary anymore, just unnapetizing.

  • @bornahybrid I definitely see your point, but eating fried food makes all people uncomfortable. I've never had an eating disorder, but I still stay away from fast food and junk food because after I eat them I feel incredibly gross and groggy. I feel like making them eat all that food is pushing them even more away from eating "normally." Don't you think?

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY eating fried foods once a week is not a bad ting. As long as they are not feeding them McDonald's every day it's not really unhealthy.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY because they want them to learn to be able to eat things like that in real life if necessary. they say that in this documentary. like if they go to a party and there is pizza in the real world, they don't want the kids to freak out because all they eat normally is salads.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY I think it's because it's England. Isn't the food there generally kinds of (no offense Brittons!) gross and fried?

  • @shaman13405 no its an actual fact that brittish food is quite healthy, its just that most people arent educated in how much to eat of it.. on the other hand if you go to america if you go to a resteraunt the portions are double as big and fast food joints are all over the place.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY because they need higher calories do you think they are going to get more calories from fried food or are they going to get more calories from avocados and nuts I mean really use your brain!

  • @Godlim17 Hahahahaha well if you used YOUR brain like I used mine, you would know that just 1/4 cup of raw walnuts has 210 HEALTHY calories, filled with unsaturated fats, while 1 full cup of fried chicken has 310 and not to mention, a bunch of saturated fats that can make the girls feel greasy and disgusting, which is exactly the opposite of what they are supposed to be feeling.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY 210 calories, when they can need upwards of 5000 calories a day to combat hypermetaboism? That's an awful lot of nuts to be eating day in day out, even if they are just given as an extra. I've been through refeeding from a low weight, trust me it's often easier just to eat the high fat high cal option, you don't feel as freaked out being uncomfortably full, and feeling like you're just stuffing yourself non stop with the sheer volume of healthy food you have to eat.

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY Im sorry you obviously know way more about calories and all that shit you obviously are anorexic urself. ur just in denial about it.

  • @Godlim17 haha nope, I'm just studying nutrition in college. plus, it doesn't take more than five seconds to google. :)

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY not only do they need to gain fast, but they need to get used to eating 'normal' food.

If they eat just healthy foods, they will still be scared of higher fat foods. it breaks the chain. The fried foods are not that often, once or twice a week.

[ive had 2 mates hospitalized with anorexia]

  • @lalaLOVExTODAY because fear of food, and avoidance of food and types of foods is a really significant part of anorexia. part of breaking that anxiety and forming a stable relationship with food again is challenging the belief that, say, fried foods will make you fat. so they are fed them. yes, it's hard. recovery IS hard. however, reliance on 'safe' foods is not a healthy relationship with food. i hope these girls will be alright, with all my heart.
