Hi guys I have just told you my very emotional story about my reunification with my childhood friend Kirk, you need to read the last bit and then work your way upwards to follow it!
I dont want to be too oversentimental, but I am so overwhelmed to be in contact with him again after so many years apart and I want Kirk to always know that. I also want him to know that I am always there for him and that I strongly value our friendship for as long as I shall live. 25 years is a long time and life is too short!
and when I went through his friends list I saw his sister's name which i also remembered very well and I knew straight away it was him!!! I send him a message saying how much I missed him and I often thought about him, but to my dismay, he didnt have any recollection of me at all which brought a tear to my eye. We chatted and chatted to our hearts content and then we met up 2 weeks later as I flew back over from Vietnam to Northern Ireland to see him.
Since that day in 1986 when I said my goodbyes to his family as I was moving away, I felt so sad and emotional knowing that we may not ever see each other again and as the years went by, I often thought about him, i.e what he looked like, what he was doing with himself, where he was living etc until June 22nd 2011 when we became reunited on facebook for the very first time in 25 years! I had been looking for his name on facebook until I stumbled upon a Kirk close to my hometown
This is a very touching and emotional clip. You know, I researched for clips like these on youtube because it reminded me so much of my very recent reunification with my childhood friend, Kirk. Kirk was my childhood friend who was my neighbour when I lived on the same street as him, he was only 3 years old at the time and I was 6 and we played with each other every day that I care to remember although they are fairly vague memories.
@saugagirl83 Me too. Very sad story. It brings me to tears. A best friend is something you cannot buy. Someone you treasure forever. I am glad they found each other!!!
