And I find it laughable to call Heavy Rain a "game". The whole thing feels like a long cutscene with EXTREMELY simple, linear interactive bits where it mostly plays itself.
IMO it's story is better than every game in 2011, the characters are at least as interesting as Batman and Portal, it's shooting, combat and sneaking mechanics are average at best, the music is great, the writing is at least as good as Portal's, and it has fun puzzles that don't have as much depth as Portal, but are packaged more uniquely (ur not dealing with the same objects in similar settings repeatedly) like God of War. Just a great game overall.

Not to mention that we had the Assassins Creed beta exclusively and a free service that I hardly ever use. We also had the best version of Portal 2. A game that was not going to be on the PS3 until Valve saw how more superior it is to the Xbox 360.

Yup, it sounds to me like he prefers interactive movies over real games. I'm not saying that Uncharted 3 is merely an interactive movie, but it sounds to me like he gave it GOTY just for being cinematic & having a good story.
PC and 360 both got Skyrim as the best game of the year. I guess I can understand Skyrim not winning because it starts running like crap once the save file gets too big, but Dark Souls is by far better than Uncharted 3 and one of the best games ever made. The ONLY reason Uncharted 3 won here is because of Greg Miller, that's it, get over it.
The game may be great for story, cutscenes, and graphics, but it's severely lacking in gameplay. And that's what games are about. That's why it didn't get a nomination from GameSpot.
@EPICsliceOFcake Personally I think that Uncharted has some of the most well paced gameplay seen in gaming, it is always interesting while changing the formula and it doesn't get monotonous like gears of war or metal gear.
Uggh, the whole debate about exclusives again? If a game is released on a console, it can be nominated for best on that console. Saying exclusives only is basically excluding Skyrim, Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3, MW3, Dark Souls, ACR, etc... Also, assuming this logic for eligable games, surely the PC platform would be at a major disadvantage in comparison to console. Anyway, its not even called "best exclusive" so the if people want this as well as best overall game, tell IGN.
I have to say Uncharted 3 deserved to win. Gamespot were retards, picking portal 2 a great game but not the ps3 game of the year. well done ign. Go hear, complete quest by killing things, go into cave, kill more things, go back to person and get praised for completing quest, get pissed of that you cant sell all the items that you picked up and repeat.

Not to mention that we had the Assassins Creed beta exclusively and a free service that I hardly ever use. We also had the best version of Portal 2. The moment I heard Greg's voice, I knew it was gonna be UC3. Sad, cause it doesn't deserve it imo.. I'm sorry but Greg really overrated this one, UC2 was way better. But it's still a great game but definetly not a 10, 9 would be a perfect score mainly because the MP is unbalanced.. Still, the graphics are the best!!

I guess I can understand Skyrim not winning because it starts running like crap once the save file gets too big, but Dark Souls is by far better than Uncharted 3 and one of the best games ever made. Uggh, the whole debate about exclusives again? If a game is released on a console, it can be nominated for best on that console. Saying exclusives only is basically excluding Skyrim, Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3, MW3, Dark Souls, ACR, etc... Also, assuming this logic for eligable games, surely the PC platform would be at a major disadvantage in comparison to console. Anyway, its not even called "best exclusive" so the if people want this as well as best overall game, tell IGN.
