i did this same closing in process but w/ wooden paddles..rubbed my wholes for about a minute+...it was also pretty much directly after being thrown..the only problem that happened was my holes separated while it dried...which i heard you state here :\ did you dry them slowly like under a bag?

ill try again eventually :)

thanks for your comments. these glazes are fired at cone 6 oxidation. i think there are lots of glazes called tea-dust... but this one was fired at cone 6. I'm happy to send recipe if you'd like.

we have a cone 10 tea dust black at my school which we use for ruduction firings..is this the same?

If you have facebook add Beckman's Ceramics. i have an altered pitcher like yours on there that i made after watching this video. i also made some tea pots using the same technique. it really opened a new door for my ceramics. thanks!
