  • To those arguing over whether or not god made the world in 7 days or if the big bang created the universe over millions of years through science and evolution, think about it this way: Our perception of time is man-made. Our modern (Gregorian) Calendar was made by the pope in the 1500's. Last time I checked the Catholic church was pretty abusive over its peasants back then with bribery and what not. 7 Days to us may be different to god's perception of 7 days.

  • @TehKaizokuKing I'd agree with this. Time keeping is actually a fairly recent technology in comparison to how long we've been around, living more by seasons or more ill defined periods of time. There's a ton of symbolism in the Bible so I really don't see this as a stretch from a theological point of view, more probably a concept that made sense to people of the time.

  • Why are there religious debates going on here? Please, let's just enjoy the music.

  • as an atheist, i think this movie is beautiful. why argue about it?

  • GOD IS REAL DONT LET ANYBODY TELL YOU DIFFERENT

  • @justthatguy212 I am a catholic, but you cannot just impose your opinion just like that, it won't work, belief me. It is better to show your belief through your deed.

  • I grew up to this movie, I was always captivated by it.

Even though I don't believe in a God, this movie still holds a special place in my heart from my childhood.

  • All I Ever Wanted Is... To Bring Peace On Earth

  • God does not exist. All that exists is the harshness of the universe. Dark and Cold.

  • @Witchking101 There is no good or bad. Stop being emotional about something which doesn't lend itself to it.

  • @atheist382 you know what if your smart then how did we all get here? Im a honor student (top ten in my class) and hey guess what im a g~o~d l~o~v~e~r!!! What are you?!?! Thats why I cant stand people like you. (looking for a catholic boy) just kidding... Maybe..

  • @Bluedog3598 he is from india, dont worry about it..

  • This reminds me of a mix between the music from Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre Dame.

  • THIS IS SUCH A GREAT SONG I CRIED

  • lol @athiest238 is trying troll everyone by sating God isnt real because he has nothing better to do with his life

    #Foreveralone

  • this song changed my life.

  • god is stupid.

  • Okay, so the instrumental part of this song is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

    Love this movie <3

  • @JessicaaalsHere i totally feel the same way

its not just black or white u can believe in both!

  • I am a strong believer in God. but that doesn't mean I don't accept science. Some of us do... most of us actually. Ever thought that science is just a way of explaining how God did everything?

  • @JessicaaaIsHere Yes, and when I do I usually think about the faults and flaws the Bible originally had that got edited out.

  • @JessicaaaIsHere I agree with you completely.

  • @JessicaaaIsHere No, science is a way of explaining how everything came to be, not how "god" did it.

  • @JessicaaaIsHere Hear, hear! Another of God's scientists here :).

  • @JessicaaaIsHere holy crap.. I NEVER thought of it that way o.o

  • @JessicaaaIsHere But the bible says that god created everything in 7 days. Evolution says it took millions of years..? The bible says god created man, evolution says we come from "monkeys". Thats why i dont get how people can be christians and really believe in science and evolution?

  • @mathildasally well let's be clear most religious people I know including me know that even within our own religion that the individual books in the bible are written by people not God especially when several books are someone's perspective. But many are second hand or from oral tradition. Especially in Genesis this is the case. That plus the fact it's heavily layered with metaphors it's pretty easy to see Genesis as an easy way to explain evolution to ancient man who wouldn't understand.

  • @mathildasally And just a small observation about metaphors. The 7 days thing, there's many instances where one thing represents another in the bible so a day could just mean a distinct period of time. God creating man: doesn't really say in what form other than he was shaped from the Earth which is true if taken to mean we're made of elements. And that Eve was made from a part of Adam, it is true that a part of a man must be taken to create a new life. At least that's how i choose to look at it

  • @Spartan155 Ok, that was alot of words for what u wanted to say, english is not my mother-tongue. So basically, in a few words, what youre saying is - the bible is made up by metaphors?

  • @mathildasally in a few words I'm just saying that it has too many metaphors to be taken at face value.

  • @mathildasally I'm a Christian. I believe in science but I don't believe in evolution. Evolution was never proven. Check it up. It was just a hypothesis written by a man who had studied monkeys for a long period, and accepted worldwide as the most logical and rational of men's origins.

  • @fiestafiona A magic man in space creating everything 4000 years ago has never been proven either.

  • @MrLOhare True. We're not good at proving. It's the same as being unable to see wind but we can feel it and can see how it affects things. Just that none of us see the same as the other and so others are sceptical and critical about it. On the other hand, we cannot deny it.

  • @fiestafiona Ok for you to even say that evolution was never proven just means this conversation is a dead end. how can you say that? What about fossils, they just magically appeared? "Evolution was never proven", but is the story about god proven? Thats things written in a book by someone, just as evolution is written about in books (with proof though, unlike the bible)

  • @mathildasally Fossils just showed other animals that had existed before they extinct. You can read more in Institute of Creation Research. On the other hand, I did not say God had been proven either. I'm just clarifying the doubts about Christians believing in both evolution and God at the same time. Sorry if I offended anyone.

  • @atheist382 TROLL ALERT!!!

if you dnt like this movie or song the dont spend ur time putting stupid comments on it!

Cuz you just insulted all who do believe in a God(s) and that is probably 99% of the world's population!

If you were really intelligent you wouldnt be spending ur freaking time TROLLING

  • Intelligent people do not believe in god.

  • i love this song and i love the movie. i do not know if God really exists or not, but when every now and again i hear something that makes me want to believe, and this is one of them.

  • god is for idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • @atheist382 I pity you. You sound like someone who doesn't know God or let your emotions cloud your sensibility. Only those who drown themselves in bitterness, complacency or selfishness would say what you said.

  • @atheist382 yeah gods for idiots, well when your dead and burning in hell u send me a postcard OK?

  • @MrZombiekiller465 so you should not believe in god because you should embrace what he wants you to do, like being kind to others etc. You should be a christian in fear of going to hell?

  • @atheist382 lol, you really want attention don't you? I mean you come to a video and make a general comment that you know will get hate cause it's a song about a religious story, why? Are you that desperate for attention and bad attention is easier to get than good attention? Well I don't care of your hate of god and his ways I believe in him and I don't need you to justify it...but I will pray for you still, because I am going to take the higher path of acceptance.

  • @Zaelek1776 his/her name is 'atheist382' lol I think this says it all. How worthless lol they should delete their account and make a less embarrassing one.

  • @poke1nar2avatar34eva Nah if he did that he would have less people to pander to his attention sucking ^^.

  • oh my god i totally forgot how epic this movie was : O

  • Pharaoh disliked this.

  • @atheist382 you douche.

  • I love this song p.s is it odd that I'm 13 and can say Moses and Ramases (sp) oh well if it is i still think they are hot

  • @atheist382 hrmmggpphlhlllhllaaa

  • @atheist382 troll

  • His voice is so pretty... and Moses, on the film, while singing this... he was pretty cute :3

  • When they Sing "This is your home" i can't help but rofl

  • @atheist382 That is quite insensitive of you. It is fine for you to have your own beliefs, but you should respect others beliefs like how you would wish your beliefs to be respected. The entire world was founded on religion.

    Btw: I am an atheist

  • never has the music of a movie made me feel every emotion known to man

  • snoooww!!! when you live in a desert i guess Youtube is the place to go when you want some snow

  • Comment removed

  • @atheist382

Because of people like you, I feel stupid telling people I'm an atheist.

Also, I believe you don't exactly understand what "atheist" means. It means not believing in any divine being(God). It doesn't necessarily mean you don't believe in soul and afterlife.

Yes, my opinion is the same as yours, only with slightly nihilistic bases. But religion is part of ancient cultures, cultures that should be respected. Among other things, CULTURE includes religion too. Get over it.

  • Comment removed

  • I love how much Moses's mother and the Queen are alike. Beautiful inside and out.

  • @atheist382, You have your opinion and you are entitled to it. But this a song from a very religious movie. If you don't believe in God and are atheist, why are you here? Is it because you want to tell people you can't see that they're idiots? I don't think you have a right to be mocking, complaining, or commenting on another person's religion. We all believe in what we believe in. Your belief is that there is no God, Other people's belief are, frankly, none of your Freaking Business.

  • Religious people are the monkeys of society!

They actually think there is an imaginary man in the sky (snicker)..how sad....

What a bunch of uneducated fools...! Atheism is the only way to world peace!

There is no god...There is no afterlife...You are on your own.... When you die, your body will just rot into the ground, and you will become worm food.

This is the truth...Stop deluding yourself with weird medieval superstitions!

  • @atheist382 as i said i am sorry you feel that way and i am praying for you

  • @atheist382 What's the point of posting this on this video. You are what's wrong with the internet.

  • @atheist382 I'm an Atheist and I think what you said is true, but it's insensitive to be brought up in such a environment where we talk about a movie's music rather than religion. Go say that in 9/11 videos where more people will agree with you.

You just sound like a troll and very inflammatory. You sound like a hypocrite. Now just respect their beliefs, it's fine if you don't - BUT just keep it to yourself.

  • @atheist382 I'm atheist. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy the stories of religion, and the story Moses is a particularly good one. Stop spreading hatred, you're giving the rest of us a bad name...

  • I love the voice of the queen, and I seriously feel awful for her:( who played her in the movie?

  • @MrThecookiemonster2 Linda Dee does the singing voice, Helen Mirren does the voice acting.

  • @MrThecookiemonster2 caligula's wife xD

  • is it just me or does everybody want to go back to the past ??

  • Please help me! Where I find this song WITHOUT voice? I want to hear only the intrumental version. Someone know? D:

  • It's funny how I never knew how deep this film was when I was a kid. This song is kind of like Moses giving up his childhood and moving on as an adult. I can sort of relate to him.

  • This should be in broadway.

    not just lion king...

  • @emirjennifer Agreed!

  • I remember when I was young I never wanted him to leave Egypt. It felt like he belonged there.

  • @valiantvyse She represents the "Noble Heathen." She is good, but not righteous, as are all of the sympathetic characters. I agree that her story is fairly tragic in the film. And of course, doctrinally speaking, Christianity is fairly divided as to the fate of the unproselytized.

BTW, in Jewish tradition, she actually did go with the Jews. To quote Leviticus Rabbah, "because she took in a child not her own, and called him her son, God will take her in and call her YHWH's daughter."

  • best song from the movie

  • I think, maybe the queen knew Moses would do something great one day.

  • @atheist382 Why are you on this then? O.o

  • @atheist382 GOD IS REAL and i will pray for u :)

  • @atheist382 i am so sorry that you feel that way! there is no life without god and if there was it would be completely meaningless and empty. if god didnt exist what would be the purpose of life? what do you believe is the purpose of life if not to be good so you can be rewarded afterwards? i feel so bad for you! everything around you is proving that god exists. and i really hope and pray that someday you will realize that. ( btw you should totally look up dane cooks thing on atheists)

  • @atheist382 if you truly believe that atheism is the way to world peace then you are seriously deluded!!! man will always find something to go to war over whether it be land money gold or god! those of us who believe in a higher power be we christian islamic or muslim or any other faith do so because we can and we want to believe that their is someone who will watch out for us and love and look after us we are not brainwashed sheep we just have the ability to find hope and believe.

  • This is so beautiful

  • Other college students are listening to things like dubstep and rap; I'm listening to Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks music. I feel no shame.

  • @Bonez229 I listen to both, no problem so far.

  • @Bonez229 Me too :)

  • @Bonez229 Hey! Me too!

  • @Bonez229

    why would you feel shame?

do you seriously consider listening to trash and pussy-dick, Construction site songs is COOL?

  • @Bonez229 hells ya, same. i also add musical theatre into there, but it think they are one and the same.

  • @Bonez229 Dubstep & rap? More like house and dance pop....

  • I love this song and movie its my favorite I can listen to these songs all day!

  • Yo, is Prince of Egypt fanfiction blasphemy?

Dunno if I can read it or not

  • @AMY1213141 You can read whatever you want--don't be afraid of things/evil. God is more powerful than evil. Also, didn't know it was a book.

  • @moearly I know God can defeat evil :), I was just wondering whether it was a sin to read it. Also, fanfiction isn't restricted to books, it can be more or less everything(books, movies, comics, anime etc). But I think it's technically a book(Exodus)

  • @AMY1213141 I don't think reading anything, blasphemous or not, is a sin. I was saying I didn't know Prince of Egypt was a book. Exodus is definitely a book of the Bible.

  • @moearly is it only if we blaspheme ourselves? Also, I don't think Prince of Egypt is a book itself

  • @AMY1213141 That was my take on it, yeah--that if you blaspheme it's a sin, but that it's OK to read what others wrote whether it's blasphemous or not. If we cannot hear blasphemy, how can we challenge it?

  • @moearly Yeah, but, in general, it would be better if there was no blasphemy. But at least we can challenge it :)

  • @AMY1213141 Agreed :)

  • @LisaSpringfield .....performed by Amick Bryan. Written and produced by Zimmer.

  • I love this movie. It was well done and had great music. I may not agree with the plot cause it is different from the bible and from real facts but it is still a great movie to watch. It shows in my eyes that if you believe and fight for what is right in your eyes then you can do anything.

  • @nekorayne I can see what you're saying, but the exact biblical story wouldn't have made a very entertaining story on the big screen. As is, the film rocks!

  • ZIMMER!!!! :D

    Need I say more?

  • @k5renee Amick Byram, not Zimmer.

  • The reason this really is so emotional for me , is because I can really identify with Moses. I never knew my biological father , only my raised father. I love my father with all my heart , but I always wanted to know where I came from. So even though I have parents , this scene does resignate for me. When Moses realizes that he has parents who loves him , it's a sense of relief and comfort. That's why there is so much impact at 2:31 , is Moses has a moment of assurance and belonging.

  • @Retrofanatic10 Same. And I couldn't agree more.

  • Hans Zimmer is genious.

  • "I'm a Sovereign Prince of Egypt!" Like a boss. :D

  • Why did Moses leave his family?

  • @GameMasterShania do u mean the biologicaly or foster family?

  • @Fackinfine his real family are the Egyptians no matter what and hated it when he left them in the movie

  • @GameMasterShania Well in the film:

The biological hebrew family because they sent him away as a baby to allow him to escape from the Pharaoh's orders to kill all baby boys

The Egyptian foster family because he accidentally killed a man and whilst traumatised he found out about his origins and in disgust with himself and all that he had supported he ran away

  • my favorite part is: "surely, this is all i ever wanted."

  • I seen the movie in RE

  • @MrNathan4472 I did too.

  • disney disliked it

  • @uri643 bullshit Disney is not like that, anime disliked

  • Hans Zimmer Rules !

  • This is SO on my ipod :)

  • good score :)

  • this is a song that gets you through life

  • I feel so bad for the queen honestly.... We never see her or Seti after this, and she never thought bad of Moses, just loved him dearly. Then he acidentlly kills someone and vanishes. She never sees him again, and she just finished telling him he'll always belong there...

  • @girgirl09 True that. The Queen was my favorite character. She showed contrary to the larger theme of the movie that not all those who follow religions other than Judeo-Christian ones are malevolent jerks. Lots of people think that this movie is Judeo-Christian propoganda, but it's totally not. ANYONE can be righteous, not just those of a certain faith.

  • @valiantvyse Poor woman..... v.v

  • @girgirl09 Actually we do see her another time, its when Moses returns to Egypt, right before Ramses hugs Moses, when Ramses is sitting in his chair, you can see her in the background :)

  • the second the music started, i had one of those warm flashbacks to my childhood, just felt pure innocence for a second. these moments are so rare. well, back to my shitty life.

  • @R1guide same here, but back to my good life.

  • @R1guide Have kids, then you can relive your life through them :D!

  • @R1guide Why is your life shitty?, it can be great

  • @R1guide I wish I could thumb up your comment a billion times; I felt word for word the same, even some sadness to what I have become :-O :-) :-| :-(

  • @R1guide life can be hard--really hard sometimes--XP, but God loves us and helps us when we need it (and when we want and cooperate with His help).

  • OMG IT MAKES ME CRY THAT I LOVED THIS SONG SO MUCH WHEN I WAS LITTLE AND I STILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There's so much tension in this song, so beautiful and heart breaking.

  • it's just so SWEET! D'x

  • i am literally in tears by the time he says 'all i ever wanted' the third time Dx

  • It's funny how this changes in the Plagues.

  • This song still sings inside my heart everytime I'm down. Even when I doubt. But God never fails unfortunately it's jus us as human beings that fail him yet he still loves us unconditionally :)

  • one of my favorite childhood movies.

  • Comment removed

  • Reminds me of 80's music, Hans Zimmer is just great!

  • i don't like people that never finish their

  • Every time the queen sings I tear up at "now you know the truth love...now forget and be content." I was adopted by my grandparents and for the first 4 years of my life before I went to school I honestly thought that every one lived with their nana and papa...I never thought to think I might have a mom or dad...they were my mom and dad. When my nana finally at me down and explained it to me after my first day of pre-school it was crushing : ' [

  • I feel so powerful when I listen to this song. It takes me back to my childhood when I would watch this movie over and over again.

  • @2013Nut i know! same here (: i never get tired of it. a beautiful song

  • this Song is "All I Ever Wanted" it's so powerful!

  • Love This Song

  • Goosebumps. From. The. First. Ten. Seconds. No Joke.

  • @regaladol10

You think you are so funny, random & witty... but you are not.

  • @1tephania Hey.. I'm really sorry about that. My idiot friend went on Youtube with my account already logged in and saw this open.. I listen to this song every day, so I am very sorry for that inappropriate comment.

  • @regaladol10

    No prob =)

  • Why does there have to be religious arguments on every track of this amazing, captivating soundtrack? Just sit back and appreciate the genius of the music..

This soundtrack makes me so emotional and reminds me of my childhood! One of my most favourite childhood films of all time :')

  • this would be the theme song for my character

  • beautiful!!!!

  • I love the 1st song n when the queen sings.

  • i love this song so much. :D

  • such an amazing movie....I might just watch that tonight while I eat dinner. :)
