PrBoom. It has an option to colour-code the HUD stats so you can 'read' your condition at a glance.

Looks can be deceiving.

It's not easier. Not even in the slightest.

Make one mistake when that Mastermind is firing, and you might as well hit 'reset' and try again.

In all honesty, I think that Cacodemon may well have saved me from several minutes of extra attempts.
