  • fuck meds. Just because we do not fit the norms box doesnt mean WE are the problem!

  • Is there no other way?? except medication. for me they seem expensive. the condition is not very well known in my country I dnt think they even sell those meds here.

Can I do meditation or Yoga?

  • @cherryswachan you have to have help managing your daily life along with the meds. Meds just make it easier for those around you to cope with your gift...lol

  • I had to drop my fav subject coz of financial constraints and did my MBA, now am a HR Gen. :( :(

I cant keep deadline, cant keep track of assignments, projects. My clients have to do a heavy follow up with me. Now i have slef esteem issues. I no longer believe am smart or capable of anything! Socially people like to talk t me, even take advice. But I cant seem to hang out with them, always say no the parties.

I have horrible performance streak. My clients are vexed up with me.

    Clueless!

  • As a Child: I looked slow in certain subjects extremely advanced in science and social studies, english top of the class. when it came to MAth: Ibarely made it! I just could'nt rap my head around it.

College: Was a blast since i chose my fav subjects: Genetics and biotechnology I did extreamly well. Had a blast. Was thought to be one of the brightest and most promising students.

  • Girls are not as disruptive? Um, bullshit. I have known plenty of girls with ADD and they are blathering annoying idiots just like the boys. I had this disorder as a child so I know from experience. Girls have this disorder less frequently than boys. The male brain is always more fragile and messed up when it comes out of the womb due to the mother's immune system. But the girls who actually have such disorders are just as disadvantaged as the boys.

  • It all just boils down to having a different Brain Chemisty than the "normal" people are born with.im 52 and meds are working for me completely. My 3rd grader went from D's to B's in 6 weeks after medication was started. being finally treated for me is "better late than never". thanks for posting this video

  • ADD sucks. Nothing happens for you.

  • My 17 yrs old best friend Valerie has ADHD.

  • yes. Its the agony of "doing stuff" that's the hard part. I pretty much, get everything that I need to done, like papers, presentations, chores, cooking, dressing. But it takes so much mental effort and sometimes emotional pain to actually do the task. So, I feel uncomfortable so much of the time, and my self-esteem has really taken a beating. I wasn't diagnosed until very recently, I'm 24 now. I was just so well behaved all the time, that no one knew why I was feeling so unhappy.

  • @buenbum55 same. I feel so anxious about everything I do. and feel stupid whe I don't make msyelf work and get things done. /It's not even the distractions, but the fear of a task taking so long that makes me procrastinate.

  • Isn't AD/HD similar to Asperger's I was misdianosed with ADD but in fact I have Asperger's which is an Autistic spectrum disorder!? - Is there a similarity or connection?

  • @Supersmooth007 I'm trying to figure that out too. I haveADHD and one of my sisters has Aspergers. There are some similarities but I don't know yet nor do scientists know yet if there are genetic connections between the two. My sister and I may be a coincidense but I wouldn't be surprised to hear of a genetic connection between the two.

  • @hikaritakaru Do you and your sisters get on LOl!?

  • @Supersmooth007 I assume not because I don't know what LOI is.

  • @hikaritakaru So your sister is badly behaved and has temper tantrums and hyper active, and you have problems understanding and with communication!?? do you get on?!

  • @Supersmooth007 My sister sometimes has trouble communicating and understanding emotions. She is very well behaved and only threw tantrums as a child. She is rarely hyper and gets tired out quite easily. I am a bit hyper, but i understand other people very well most the time. I usually communicate well except that when having an informal conversation I get off track and end up telling a half dozen stories at once.

  • I never felt different. I was always considered a disobedient child. Because I would be told to do something, and I would literally walk down the hall and get distracted and forget what I went back there to do. My mother thought I was just being disobedient so she punished me. It wasn't until a teacher at school mentioned about getting me tested did I find out that I had ADHD. Of course I took the tests that were almost like SAT tests, which lasted almost all day. After is when I was diagnosed

  • Wen I was in primary school my symptoms were not mild, at all! But the people who tested me said I couldn't possibly had ADHD because ADHD "is a boy problem." !! So I spent years struggling at school and at home, getting blamed for "not listening" and never getting anything done on time, or "being too silly, it's time to settle down now."

I finally took my own self in for testing after I got my associates degree. Thank God I did! everything in my life makes SO much more sense now!

  • ADD is pretty awesome once you adjust to it. I was diagnosed when I was 9, I'm 17 now. I've had 8 years to learn my patterns and work with them. Anyway, the meds either didn't work or made me suicidal-I'd try a cod liver oil supplement, for anyone whose reactions were the same. It's has Vitamin D too, which is good for depression( a lot of people have Vitamin D deficiencies- not just those with ADD).

  • and most add people dont have vitamin deficiencies

  • Well, people with ADD may have vitamin deficiencies, but probably no more or less so than anyone else. ADD isn't really related to causing vitamin deficiencies.

  • yeah thats kind of what i meant but i worded it wrong

  • Got you :)

  • HELL NAH ITS ON NOW MOFO

  • lol!

  • @ItsHeroXJ I should consider trying that. I have ADD and i take the emdication, which works fine, but I still have anxiety, which can lead to depression, and I think may be doing that to me. Thoug, I don't have diagnosed depression. I don't think it will help much, but it can't hurt to try it.

  • Clone, ignorance and arrogance are a bad combination.

The most convincing theory I've read is that ADD is caused by a deficiency of 3 neurotransmitters. They are a family of neurotransmitters called the catecholamines.

  • but... the government and the corporations... both headed by the jews... try to kill us by drugging us with stuff that makes our lives better... its all in this book by natural healer and quantum medium spirit traveller DR. GAIA SPIRITFUCKER. i suggest you read it and see how its all a big scam perpetrated by the evil jews

  • You're off course there, Clone1eighty7. The best theory I've read is that ADD is probably caused by a deficiency of 3 neurotransmitters called the catecholamines.

For every emotion or mood, there is some biochemistry behind it, falling in love, being happy, being focused or being distracted.

You can check out the book Driven to Distraction if you would like more information.

  • Excellent video; women with ADHD get forgotten very easily, but here in the UK we need better NHS services for people with ADHD so please sign the petition on 10 Downing Street site. Sorry can't put a link here so do a Google search for "aadd uk petition" to find it . Thanks for your help!!

  • i have adhd and im a 31 yr old female who is very creative yet very percratinating!

if thats a good way to put it.. I love my ideas, i hate my constant boredom or just lack of ability to do stuff that i need to get done. this is a good video its very true . alot of people without adhd dont get it.

  • Thanks for putting this vid up to watch...it's so distressing to see how much discrimination and stigma there is around this disorder, which yes I suffer from and am being medicated for. My life is slowly regaining some sense of order. Big kudos to all u women out there who have been diagnosed in adulthood like me....it's a long hard road but we are gonna make it!!!

    :-)

  • Sari Solden wrote a Book Called Women with ADD Excellent.. this needs to be Publicised more So many Sufferes

  • laila, what are you talking about...?

  • all the evidence indicates its genetic in origin... that is how the curse works... inquity changes the structure in the brain... and the curse is passed down...

  • laila7-

    YOU ARE A FREAK!

  • adhd is not a illness its a curse generational curse

  • Zev121 said "ADD? ADHD? All they need is a fucking spanking.

Now they want to call everything a syndrome or a condition, all they need is a pull in the ear and a good'ole "shut the fuck up or I'll beat the hell up your ass"... problem solved !!!"

  • LOL

  • I have the disorder and I'm not sure if I should go to college or find a job that requieres creativity.

  • i couldnt keep up in college and dropped out but not because of adhd its because am a lazy cow lol

  • i have ADHD i dont fill different i take medicein and took aderale (not spelled right) NOW I TAKE A differant medicein id ont know yet

  • yyfyg

  • side effects?

  • do stimulants work? i have heard about very DAMAGING

  • "Normal" people around us cant see the world though our eyes because they simply cant escape from the inside the box. My ADD is treatable. you being trapped inside the box is not. Be Proud to be different not deficit

  • I know I'm late in responding but thank you for your comment. I have ADD and God is finally building my self esteem back up and teaching me how to appreciate how he made me. Thanks so much!

  • Being born and being capable of seeing things from so many different angles, and being able to think outside the box, and being able to take time and appreciate the things in life. You can either tell yourself how bad life is, and look at all the negatives about yourself and about the world around you, and try and force yourself to think inside the box. Or you can use your ability to think outside the box, and look higher than that.

  • Making satire out of ADD/ADHD people is like making fun of cancer patients or victims of terrorism.

ADD/ADHD is VERY real. If you think not, you must be Tom Cruise's MAIN SQUEEZE.

    -Peace

  • people with ADD need 'VULTURE PROTECTION' if you know what I mean

my vulture protection comes from god

  • to have ADD is to suffer!!

  • zev121= You must need some help if your looking this stuff up. Go seek help now and stop it all now. There is help for you.

  • OMG your so fucking stupid! ADHD IS a disorder! I've lived w/ it my whole life, its not just about disruption, you cant keep your concentration, you get distracted extremely easily, it is extremely hard to live with! You need to fucking actually research the fucking disorder you idiot!

  • I've gots it.

Felt the same way. I'm only 20 though, I was just diagnosed, and looking through my psych reports from when I was little, it was pretty obvious that I had it when I was little, but I was a girl.

  • Zev121 if I was your son and you do that to me I have ADHD, I'll cut your tonge, zip your eyes, remove your eyeballs and throw you in a pool of acid. Then skin you if you still have skin.

  • you cut my tongue, zip my eyes, remove my eyeballs and throw me in a pool of acid? I am sure that by the time you have not even started cutting my tongue you would be doing something else totally unrelated to me... what is worse than a retard? a distracted underachiever retard.

  • I find your anger-issues interesting and more particularly, the fact that you specifically searched for the subject of ADHD as an answer to your own behavioral problems. I'm sorry you're not being heard and that your views are obviously influenced by the company you keep. Yes, you may have ADHD and NO, it's not a shame. No, people don't get along with you but YES, you can change that. Just work on your denial and you'll be fine.

  • Look at the handle "MyTermsNow" and talk about anger-issues.

Judging by results in my life and comparing them to what you say, you just talked a bunch of bologni.

I did not search for anything but anyway ended up here tangled with a modern freud. In fact, mrs. freud I was searching for ADO and ended up in this moronic chat.

  • Freud would call you a FUCK NUT!!!! Me? I still have empathy. It's obvious that you are the product of domestic abuse; have emotional and behavioral problems, such as low self-esteem, withdrawal, self-blame, aggression toward others, and problems in relationships. You learned that violence is acceptable, you are at great risk for committing criminal or self-destructive behavior.

  • hahaha, really?

  • I find your anger-issues interesting and more particularly, the fact that you specifically searched for the subject of ADHD as an answer to your own behavioral problems. • do you have adhd? you posted twice the same thing. How is that to graphically explain what a moron is.

  • its soooo annoying

it gets me in serious trouble all the time my mum though i was stupid...

  • I was always very spacy. I daydream all the time. I am sooooo lazy and cant clean my house. People bully me and underestimate my intellegence. I have few friends. Is this normal for ADD girls? Also anyone ever heard of DidreX for ADD>

  • bitch

  • Im a 27 year old guy with ADD, I would love to meet an intelligent attractive femal with the same disorder.

  • Heads up dude I'd say most party girls, most female athletes, actressed, strippers, and just about all ambitious, driven, enterprising women judged to be too 'empowered' for a female by most men... I'm not saying that's what you are looking for necessarily but in my estimation they are adhd.

  • yeh unfortunatly thats the nature of the beast

  • lmao I know right who am i kidding, its hard to find anyone stable with my disorder haha!

  • lmao

  • haha and I heard girls get a bit confused with guys who have it since they tend to frequently shift from being very submissive to very dominant. For some reason. I guess the stability, security, 'normalness' etc. we may lack is made up for by the unpredictability we're able to offer

  • hard to always make it work for you though

  • your a girl with adhd?

  • wow where did you hear that? haha kinda hits home, I can get very aggressive and than just chill out, kinda jeckell n hyde that is a symptom?

  • I'm a 23yo guy actually. I replied since I'm in the same position as you --have adhd, looking for a girl. All I know is girls tend to like our 'badboy' attitude which we can't really help, we are just really impulsive and aggressive at times which comes across as 'troublemaker' or 'selfish'. And right after being aggressive we chill out, yeah I think that's a symptom.

  • so when u take these brain stimulants, such as adderall and ridalin, does it increase activity in the front of the brain and decrease activity on the sides of the brain???

  • GREAT!!!

  • Great video...

  • I'm glad this video was posted. I am a woman who was diagnosed as an adolescent.
