  • sensei says i am improving on the kata

  • this has helped me learn the first kata so i can pass my next grading

  • @TheSoccershorty20 - this method of foot movement is taught by most Karate schools. He does down blocks the whole kata, where the method I was taught it's three down blocks, three middle blocks, two high blocks. but however he was taught right!!!

  • what style is this? is the kata meant to be taught like that or is he slowing it down for teaching purposes?

  • not the real kata 1

  • Comment removed

  • What of karate is this? Because i know shito ryu style and i am pretty sure it is not that way, although is similar

  • @CEBS13 Oh nevermind i was thinking of heian shoda but still confusing

  • When he goes to step he moves his leg inside than out. This is not the correct way how to step because it puts you off balance. Just something I noticed.

  • @TheSoccershorty20 He does this so he can close off his groin.

  • looks like 1 pinion from kenpo but he throws his hands down rather then bowing and rolling fist down

  • Thanks this really helped me as i am about to come up to my first test. thanks again.

  • this is taeguek 1

  • Sorry man , but you forgot one technique , number 4... Cheers

  • shito-ryu style..

  • It's to me is a SAJU DIRUGI (in the FIRST BASE) from Taekwondo. In the Taekwondo the white belt have the Saju and more 3 bases. It's the first base! Para mim isso é um SAJU DIRUGI (na PRIMEIRA BASE) de Taekwondo. No Taekwondo o faixa branca tem o Saju e mais 3 bases. Isto é a primeira base!

  • thats not right

  • Isn't weird to open left right and then to close by pulling your left foor to your right foot?

For a black belt I would say you have a lot of mudana Iroki= unneccesary movement

Looks an awfull lot like Kyokushin Taikyoku No 1

  • Are you sure this isn't WTF TKD style? I recognize it. I have done it myself and I studied WTF TKD style. If it isn't it looks awful familiar?!

  • thank you now i'm ready to pass for the yellow belt

  • Poor form for a black belt. For training purposes, you should be strong and focussed as possible.

  • mmm.... the kya. returns, advance...

  • isnt screaming the word kia kee-aye like shouting the word "shout"

  • try to use your hips and not your backside in throwing the punches

  • Bad kata

  • He has 1 problem in there. He is bending his back leg. That's a white belt mistake, not a black belt.

  • its like taekwondo taeguk 1 lol

  • @BboyDiviles no its not first time I saw this kata i thought how different it looked compared to tkd pattern 1 coz it involved greater stances and more area.

  • thankyou this has bought me on with my first kata

  • thank you very helpful for my little cousin who just started YESTERDAY

  • Pinan 1

  • That's not number 1 kata

    That's pinan 1

  • did he ust say gay-eeee!!!

-.- wow no lieas i heard him say that wen he screamed im srry but i scream kee-eye

    not gay-eee!!!

  • this supposed to be with form and power, i see the form but no power.

  • @HugeGeorge he is trying to help.it is for demonstrational porposes

  • You need to watch where your punches are going, they're at head hight- and not even central. Also, you aren't using any hips in this kata.

  • It is for the most part pinan 1 of 5 in Kenpo taught to beginners for a foundation to more advanced kata. I have seen this done in a few variations but this is kenpo.... as for the stance, the rule in Te is shoulder width wide and one an one half shoulder stride, this varies in style. shotokan is even wider like above and isshin-ryu more narrow

  • US styles hing mostly on Jap/Okinawan styles of kenpo/kempo and karate so what u see is only a matter of interperatation and should only be judged on the form being completly wrong or not. meaning the wrong step. if you dont know his style you can't critique his stance, however he does lack enthusiasim and strength

  • I thought that was 1st pinon.

  • what the heck that is the same kata/ basic fourm for tae kwon do.

  • yeah, it's the same movements, slightly different style.

  • Shogunate First Kata, I'm meeting the creator of shogunate (Master Sullivan) in may!!!!

  • how is it called ?

  • how is the stance to wide its called a wide stance for this kata soooooo retard

  • I think that if you review it a little closer, when he is Right-Foot forward in the Zenkutsu datchi that his stance is a little wider than when left-foot forward. His stance is a little inconsistent and yes IS too wide when right-foot forward as the long forward stance should be approx shoulder-width

  • It is actually Zen Kutsu Dachi or Long Forward stance for this kata. In this example the first stance is too narrow even for Zen Kutsu Dachi.

  • how is it called?

  • hahahaha

  • stances are way to wide.

  • thanks, that helped me so much! i forgot all the moves and my grading is today!!!! LOL!

  • thanks really helped me...

  • yeah thnx, i can now almost remember it off by heart, thnx mate

  • thanks very helpful!

  • nice work
