Hey La Fayette, I had the honor to adopted my Dante from another shelter in Louisianna from Houma. I lost him 51 weeks and a day to Leukemia. A man named Ard from La Fayette was kind enough to pick up Dante from Houma shelter and drive him to New Orleans and put him on an airplane to Oklahoma. I had Dante way shorter than I wanted to I feel very cheated by Leukemia. I loved him very much. God Bless you all for your good work.
i would of loved that tabby kitten. its amazing that we all will spend $200 - 500 on a boutique kitten or puppy. but not fork out our hearts for these kittens and pups and cats and dogs. i mean just look at their eyes: u can see their eyes have lost hope, they fear, theyre negative. u can tell they sense the "gas chamber" is approaching...
i really dont think they should kill animals just because they dont have homes! we dont kill humans beacuse they dont do we! i am going to stop this! animals shouldnt lose there lives just because they are homeless its not right and its murder!!! human or not its murder that animal is defenceless! and doesnt know whats going on! im going to set up a youtube program to stop this! send message if you want in!
I understand your point, BUT if you work in a shelter, you'd see the other side. I don't like when any animals get euthed. But, a lot of animals get depressed and when anything breaks out, its harder to get things under control, so animals end up suffering. Also, euthing is the most humane way to end suffrage.
And, we do kill people. Wars, prisons, street violence.
I agree. Animals should NOT be killed because they have no homes. This is why our animal rescue has a no-kill policy. Unfortunatly, animal control shelters such as the one the animals in this video were unfortunate enough to end up in, still do kill for space. For this reason, animal rescues in the area who do not believe in killing for space are working hard to save as many of these animals as we can, by getting them out of there.
It amazes me how little people understand that just because a place is marked "no-kill" it doesn't make it a great place! A LOT of no-kill shelters are over run, filthy, and miserable! Now, if the animals have adequate space to move, care, and human contact that's fine! But look up shelters all over the US that have deemed themselves "no kill" see how they clean, feed, and the time they actually spend w/ animals.
Also, not all shelters kill for space. My shelter doesn't! So, do your research!
Not all shelters kill for space is true. Our shelter does NOT kill for space. We also are not overrun, because we know when to say no. Before you say someone should do their research, maybe you should read more about what you are commenting on. If you had, then you would know what you were talking about.
Not one time did i say ALL no kill shelters, did I? And, I know there are some good no kill shelters and there are good low kill shelters too.
I have done my research. That is why I'm saying what I am. I can speak on the subject of what I've seen from working in an extremely low kill shelter.
Babyduck What amazes me is that some human being make excuses on why we should kill these sweet animals. I suggest you do some research because clearly you have the two confused. Oh and your comment about people kill people the difference is that the animals were never given the choice or able to speak for themselves. And it was humans that killed them not there own species.
ok so an animal should suffer from an illness (in a shelter) when there is nothing that can be done? I think that's not too humane do you? it's not a wonderful thought that animals die, but reality is there are far too many animals in this world to go in a home. i do believe you should be the one researching..
Putting a animal to sleep because there sick and suffering is one thing but killing them just because there not adopted in the period of time is not . You want to stop over population of pets then neuter and spay and eduacate people on being responsible caring owners.
be kind to animals, animals have no voice but they have a right to live like we do.so please let's help stop animal cruelty they need our help.........."treat people the way u want to be treated!!!"
These animals were not in our animal rescue. They were in Lafayette Animal Control, which is a rabies control facility. They euthanize weekly, so volunteers like us try to get them out. When we can't because we have no room, we get the word out so others can save them.
The are quite capable of raising hell when I aint home...I know..usually theres something knocked over and the guilty party dont come out for hours hehehe.

Oh and to add to this thought, animals kill their own species all the time as do humans and other species.
Gas chambers are bad, but euthing by injection is not painful. The animal goes to sleep. Euthing basically an over dosing on anesthesia.
Please answer this..do you like animals suffering? If so, you are cruel!
