I do know who Bay is, and the people who "love" his movies are double digit IQ, undereducated people who go to see movies for explosions and action rather than plot and character development.
This is the only movie I liked that he ever made, because, quite frankly, everything else was garbage. So don't try acting like you're smarter, and stop appraising Michael Bay, when there are so many other directors who deserve it, i.e Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino.
@DenitheGreat You want me to shut up, is that right boy?
Got the wrong guy, I love screwing with tools like you. And don't preach to me who likes his movies, mmkay?
My job allows me to ask people about movies and what they like. So trust me, you seriously don't wanna argue with me when it comes to these types of films and especially the people who like them. And this movie is NOT directed by Bay. There's a HUGE difference between producing and directing.
Dude, listen, I don't care if your job allows you to skip shit off the great lakes, I will argue with you face to face when it comes to movies, alright? I haven't seen them all, because I am only 15, but from the good amount I have, I can tell which ones are masterpieces and which ones are atrocities (Transformers 2 to name ONE). I have never said that Bay directed this movie...never.
What are people reading? In my world, "made" doesn't mean "directed".
@DenitheGreat By all means, argue all you want. I listen to folks like you all day, so it'll be really hard to surprise me in any way or say something I don't already know. Sorry.
And please don't act like you don't know that Bay has made classic action films like The Rock and not the mention the Bad Boys franchise. You may not like them, but it doesn't mean all people share your views. And by the way, right now Transformers 3 is THE most anticipated film of 2011. That alone says a lot.
You're expecting to much of someone who's having an argue with someone who likes Michael Bay...
Oh, congratulations! Bay has mad ONE good movie...ONE. The Rock, and you call that a classic? You know what's a classic? DIE HARD. Bad Boys 2? Really!?
Nothing but one liners and explosions, Bay's trademark.
Transformers 3 is the most anticipated movie of 11 but you wanna know what's the most anticipated movie TO DATE? The Dark Knight Rises. That says a lot more
@DenitheGreat I see I'm dealing with a Nolan fanboy here and that explains a lot. Btw, you do know that Nolan himself is a fan of Bay, right? Yeah, sure you do.
And your lame patronizing tone is not working. You're obviously just a kid still flying high, but take it down a notch, ok. It's hilarious when someone like you is acting all tough on a YT comment section.
And good luck with The Dark Knight Rises being the most anticipated movie TO DATE.
Wow, do you need the link to the article I read that says that Dark Knight Rises is the most anticipated movie to date? I didn't know this was an MLA project.
What tone? I hate it when people ASSUME tones by the arrangement of text. I'm not acting tough. You could surely kick my ass in real life, but I think I could have my own opinion without being a kiss ass.
I'm not a Nolan fanboy, but have you seen ANY of his movies? Is it wrong to be an extensive admirer of someone who made INCEPTION?
@DenitheGreat I have seen ALL of Nolan's films. And I like them for what they are. Just like I've seen all of Bay's films and I like them for what they are.
But the big question is, should I follow your example, the way you insulted the people who like Bay, and call you a pretentious art geek/nerd for liking the Nolan films?
NO, I'm not going to do that, because unlike you, I actually have some respect left in me for people with different opinions. A quality you don't possess, sadly.
Bay is a child with millions upon billions of dollars. He never revolves a story around plot, or character development. He adored using stereotypes and sexual remarks in TF2 and crammed as many explosions and tit jiggling as humanly possibly in a movie. I CAN respect his movies for what they are: EYE CANDY.
Nolan is a damn genius, also with millions upon billions of dollars, who, unlike Bay, always focuses on all the things Bay DOESN'T, while also incorporating what Bay excels in: EYE CANDY.
This is why I call people who LIKE Michael Bay movies undereducated, double digit IQ people, because all they seem to care about are explosions, tits, and the mindless action, and if you LIKE movies only for those elements, you, sadly, are a buffoon.
I can enjoy TF2, because it is entertaining, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that I liked it, because I have no reasons why.
NOLAN films, on the other hand, I have so many justifications of why I could watch them in loops, I could write a book.
@DenitheGreat Who the fuck told you that ALL people who love Bay care ONLY about explosions and tits? WTF??
Seriously, stop pulling crap out of your ass. Yes I get it, you don't like Bay, but don't put the fans of his work in ONE box. Take me for example: two of my favorite films are Bay's The Island and Capote. Capote is a movie WITHOUT a single explosion and I absolutely love it.
Btw, the irony of it all is that people at YOUR age are the ones who enjoy ONLY tits and explosions.
@DenitheGreat I was a straight-A student, I consider myself an intelligent guy, I have a nice job and a beautiful fiancee. And I love every single Michael Bay film. So maybe you sir, should think twice before making false statements like "the people who love his movies are double digit IQ, undereducated people".
There are a lot of directors I don't like, but I understand why other people like them, and I certainly wouldn't call them "undereducated" idiots for liking the things I don't like.
2. I have no problem with your fiancee or your job.
3. Just because you have straight A's doesn't prove that you're smart. It proves you can read something, keep it in mind until a test, and fill in some bubbles and write some essays. I too have straight A's, am I smart? Yes and no. But I can tell the difference between a masterpiece and a chunk of shit.
4. If you liked T2 for anything MORE than mindless action, you're cinematically illogical.
It's not T2, it's TF2. And TF2 was supposed to be a summer entertainment. No one said that it was a thought-provoking piece of cinema. Even Bay said that it's a summer action film made to entertain the masses.
And you used the words 'cinematically illogical'? Would you use them for the people who call Avatar (which is the most UNoriginal movie/cartoon ever made) 'the best film of all time'?
I really wonder what you have to say about THESE people?
Yes, I hated Avatar, and I would use those words, because all Avatar is is a regurgitation of the most cliched story line of all time with blue cats instead of Native Americans.
To address the action in "TF2", it wasn't as good as everyone makes it out to be.
1. They had to color coordinate the Autobots and Decepticons so you won't have to squint to see who is who.
2. The action didn't rise in the sequel, it was the same robot on robot, football tackle sequence. Too much for 500 characters.
@DenitheGreat 1. I'm not even a fan of these robots or the cartoons and it didn't bother me. I knew exactly who was who. So sorry, but that's completely subjective.
2. That's what the fans of these films wanted from Day 1- robots vs robots. Bay just gave them what they wanted. Hell, you can go to his site right now and you'll see that they're begging him for even MORE robot on robot action in TF3.
i'm looking for the one with the guitars, can someone tell me the name of it?
