  • Wow! A whole lotta bells and whistles, only a decent sound is lacking:-)

  • Why are people insulting this guitar so much? Compared to some of Gibson's other work this guitar is affordable. I'd rather have this than a Les Paul Ultima.

  • I'd rather watch 18 hours of man-on-man gay porn then be seen playing one of these abominations. And I'm straight.

  • this guy looks like Robert B Parker!

  • holy fuck this is stupid. Gibson has the worst ideas sometimes. (well since the 60's really)

  • such a complicated guitar

  • guys stop complaining if you dont like how complex it is. things gotta change at some point, and god dammit some people rather not travel with 15 pedals with them, so this guitar solves that, you can complain all you want, but theres alot of people that would highly appreciate a guitar like this

  • @DRGK9 and stop and change effect spending 6 min doing so*

  • @Fairfuzzle thats ok if your in a studio cause thats the beauty of editing :)

  • @DRGK9 haahahaah they removed our comments lol

  • @DRGK9 not really. This doesn't solve shit if it takes a few seconds to change effects.

  • @brw0044 it would be just fine if you were studio recording dude.

  • @DRGK9 hahaha ya still sounds like Gibson is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Though I highly doubt that was their goal. I'm almost completely convinced that their goal is to see how far they can go into scamming people into buying ridiculously expensive, shite guitars. If you record with this guitar let me know the titles of the tracks so I can avoid hearing them.

  • if you want to make a guitar into a space ship... don't call it a guitar.

  • Henry doesn't know shit about guitars... that should say everything you need to know about this pile of crap!

  • Proof that Gibson learned absolutely zero from the Robot Guitar. Great Job, Gibson. You should put Two Turn Tables and a Microphone on the next Les Paul and call it "The Kitchen Sink Model".

  • It's be good if it wasn't shit

  • I love this guitar and one day like to have it . The only negative side is only comes in two colors blue and red.

  • iguitar

  • sound like fender tele

  • Good guitarist, shit guitar...

  • @ZakkHendrix666 shit guitar... even shitty-er player...

  • you cant put any drive through that thing at all holy crap it sounded like shit I will keep my regular guitar Jesus Christ you guys are trying to build a fuckin space ship

  • Why would you care about those effect you wouldn't even use anyway?

  • i'll buy one when I'm rich just to have one. it might be a nice guitar to practice with

  • nobody at Gibson cares any more. Henry has killed his brand completely. I already have a pedalboard,. I just want a guitar that looks, plays and sounds well and stays that way with professional use at an affordable price. Gibson used to be all about that, now it's just about filiing a catalog with 300 different models nobody wants like this one.

  • thumbs up because i need attention

  • I don´t care about Gibson products, I cannot afford them, its for rich people only XD.

  • This is one uuugly axe. What's worse, you, a) Get stuck with the effects that are in the guitar and b) Those effects stay in front of the amp, not through your effects loop. You could always use outboard effects, but that defeats the purpose of the guitar's features. Why else would anyone buy it? The body shape? lmao

  • Can someone please tell me why everyone hates this???

  • @cursedswordsman Because this guitars makes all others obsolete

  • I fully agree it is way over priced, but for what CAN be done with this guitar it is amazing, but switching on the fly leaves a lot to be desired even with the use of the footboard.

I'll keep my epiphone les paul custom with my line6 valve head and cabinet.

  • What effect makes that shit sound @ 0-9:20?

  • that's the ugliest body shape i've seen on a gibson, the headstock is hideous, the effects sound terrible, the overdrive/distortion setting sounded WAY too digitized, it crackles when changing effects sometimes, and it's $5570. give me a $1500 prs, and a hundred dollar digitech rp80, and a crybaby wah, and it will blow this shit out of the water, and look way better doing it, too. that guy is a hell of a player tho, i'd say you can't polish a turd, but that's what their other finishes look like.

  • I love firebirds... This piece of shit doesn't deserve the name.

  • i don't think you would have to try hard to make an uglier body for a guitar, you could probably cough something up that would look better

  • Skwisgarr said it best: your playing sounds like dildos. But seriously, it sounds like there was no setup on the equipment before they started the presentation and i'm surprised he didn't have to get carpel tunnel surgery after playing on such a thick neck.

  • remember when guitars where instruments and not a computer doing the work for you

  • whats the effect he switches to at 1:36???

  • who put the strings on the new nasa satalite

  • how much it costs?

  • Comment removed

  • Body looks rather small... Gibson Explorer > this

  • I don't so much mind the guitar's designs, its effects, or the playing. I just wouldn't want to call it a Firebird. If its was another name, then sure, I wouldn't mind this guitar at all. But the Firebird X, ehh, it kinda too far off what a traditional Firebird should be in my opinion.

  • haha if this was cheaper i would get it...

  • O.o am i the only one that thought the demo guy looked a bit like Kyle Gass?

  • Comment removed

  • noyhing is able to beat SG, ES and Fender Stratocaster

  • where is the dubstep effect :'(

this is making me sadder than ever

  • lol the guitar isso small compared to him xD

  • He played well :)

  • This is the last generation's guitar. Nice, but it's too expensive today.

  • it would be cheaper to buy a better guitar with great combo.

  • Awful. Just awful. Just keep making Les Paul Standards.

  • this isnt a real guitar its a machine more like it. a guitar is a peice of art with the tone it has. not the sounds replicated by a computer this sounds shitty looks it too!

  • i play drums but i really dont like this guitar

  • pitiful

  • 2:30 sounds like club penguin

  • Comment removed

  • The dude playin the guitar is pretty awesome

  • quit these robot guitars and bring back the 60s and 50s les pauls, and make them lighter and less expensive

  • i like how this is the newest and greatest guitar technology and everyone is hatin.... hell im with yah fuck that shit its firewood... gibson, you screwed this one up.

  • ...if it looks like a pile of doggie doos... and its sound stinks like a pile of doggie doos...then it probably is.... on the other hand, buy one and keep it under the bed for forty years, it'll be worth a fortune cos it will be the only one left in the world - all the other unsold ones will be woodchip!

  • fake sounds worst than line 6 effects :/

  • This guitar looks as if it was designed by a 3 years old kiddo... or as if you could find it in a toy store.

  • this is the ugliest guitar i've ever seen... ok, right after reverse flying v, but at least it doesn't sound like shit. i mean listen to 2:28, 3:07 or 4:30. this makes me willing to give him the 3333 dollars to him just so he stops fucking up hendrix' riffs and smashes this piece of shit.

  • Comment removed

  • this thing looks like a defunct sperm that traveleled the wrong way in a fat bitch's fillopian tubes.

my strat without a amp sounds better than this.

  • this is crap my soldano and my esp would crush this clown

  • REAL Guitars don't need computer chips in them....

  • @PimpWizard3000 Well said. I would rather play my Fender Tele the rest of my life instead of this odd thing.

  • 1) The sound is 'tinny' because this was played through the PA system. If you notice, the actual guy talking is tinny too. I'm not sure what the guitar sounds like, and I agree that its a bad demo. But mainly for the way it was done.

    2) The phrase "digital bullshit" is so old fashioned and wrong, its ridiculous. Its like the people who won't listen to CDs because they prefer the scratch and hum of LPs.

  • @johnabbottnet 1) Gibson has talked so much about how great this guitar is supposed to sound going direct. The high end might be a little much for the camera, but it is pretty clear that most of those models sound like crap.

    2) You're comparing a form of recorded media to an instrument? The purpose of CD's is not to emulate LP's. This guitar is doing exactly that - trying to recreate instruments with modeling, trying being the operative word. Plus it's ugly.

  • i want that guitar

  • Huh, you really can't polish a turd

  • This isss way to high tech for me... this is just blasphemy to guitars

  • sounds like a kids christmas present casio keyboard.

  • this is an awful demo. gotta say though, i played one of these things today and it sounds nothing like it does here. it was warm, fat, and a joy to play. the neck was like butter. and for those saying it sounds digital - it is actually all analog processing. dont know what they were playing it through here but i plugged it straight into an egnater tweaker combo and got very deep and complex tones just using the built in stuff. cool ass guitar. i suggest trying one if you get the chance.

  • @wakesurfer1 It is not 'all analogue processing'. The name 'Pure Analog' is highly misleading; it's not purely analogue circuits at all. All the effects are applied digitally.

  • thumbs up if you would pick a Les Paul Standerd over this shit anyday....

  • @CommercialCrasher now if the tech on this was on a les paul with its original p-up's it would be awesome

  • @CommercialCrasher depends on what style of music your playing

  • @CommercialCrasher like i have both guitars. and i play all deferent styles of music. anyway, like if i were gonna play Dubstep, or techno music, i would use the firebird, for acoutic sound, les paul. so it depends on what style your playing.

  • @CommercialCrasher I would even choose a studio it it comes to it

  • @CommercialCrasher i would just cut out the middle man and buy an ESP...

  • That is seriously the worst-sounding guitar I've ever heard over $100. Not talking about the guy's playing, he can play for sure. But the guitar is tinny when he plays with a clean tone and nasty-sounding (not in a good way) when he plays with distortion. Pass.

  • 3:10 Ugh!.. What is that disgusting noise?

  • Maybe if they had a rockstar looking dude play it, they could get some sales. The guitar is tinny and sounds awful.

This sounds like a funeral with the audience wondering when the hell is it going to end

  • Maybe if they had a rockstar looking dude play it, they could get some sales. The guitar is tinny and sounds awful.

  • Nice concept... possibly ... (I am a purest) no tone... sounds like a starter box guitar and 5watt battery powered amp

  • 250-305 what jazz-y thing was he playing? anyone know? i want to learn some really jazzy songs

  • it locks like a fat guys chod

  • gibson needs to team up with digitech and emg

  • Good guitar player.

  • I own the Gibson SG guitar, and I love it. But this one.... doesn't make me want to buy it. Doesn't seem to have the same beautiful sound as the SG :/.

  • insane badly!!!!!!!

  • @kramer87 exactly...could you imagine the guy who created this crap!!!?????what shame for the great and beauty Firebird...

  • Dear lord. I hate to be negative, but at 7:26, my ears litterally began to bleed.

  • Gibson should know better.

  • awww man stop hating it does away with all the pedals with its built in efects that means now all u have to wag to the stage is ur guitar an amp.... am i lying no less uuuuuu wanna spen a grand on a pedal set up. ;}

  • @kramer87 To be fair, I have heard some albums recorded through a pod that sound fucking amazing. Much better than this.

  • I have a ESP Eclipse II (looks similar to a beautiful white Les Paul Custom) with transplanted Line 6 Variax electronics in it. It will make all the sounds in this demo and many more, it cost 1/3 as much and it isn't fugly.

  • well..... at least he's a good guitar player :D

  • That's got to be the UGLIEST guitar I have ever seen in my 43 years. It looks like something that Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top would have built from the dismantled timbers of Robert Johnson's outhouse. No one is going to use any of that shit that's built into it. I am not impressed. Thumbs down Gibson.

  • What if it gets a virus?

  • I Love Gibsons.. I have many Gibsons... But, WTF? Fire the Smuck that came up with that idea.... Guitar Center near me called me the day this thing came in... I drove down there took one look at it and got back in my car and went home... Even the sales guy thought it was a POS....

  • looks more like a guitar hero guitar

  • i like how they cut out the price of the guitar

  • its a cool idea but the reason people like pedal boards so much is that you can change out the effects. If you don't like the overdrive pedal simply get a new one... well if you don't like the overdrive sound on the guitar... well you're outta luck

  • i honestly just see a waste of money in that guitar the time and production value are obviously high and there arent going to be many people that want it anyway and its probably going to cost a fortune anyhow i see an absolute waste of time and money in that guitar.

  • o cara só sabe solar ?? hauahuahau muitooooo booommm !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's almost as ugly as the guy playing it.

  • @336forlife I want to see you play...

  • @Filomen7 I can't. But this is gonna make the music industry even less creative, now people don't even need to learn to tune. It's bullshit.

  • @336forlife Ok in that i agree with you. That guitar is really ugly and unnecessary. I think it's better Les Paul never see this ;) And sory form my english, i'm from Czech ;)

  • @336forlife I've seen a kit that lets you put a tuner in your guitar so you can look down and see a light telling you where you are. I think that would've been more practical, at least you get used to what the correct pitch sounds like.

  • I "disliked" this horrid video, and almost reported it to youtube as "inappropriate" That is not a guitar, its public indecency

  • Never heard rockabilly shred before.... I don't like it

  • Whoever sanctioned this to be built isn't a guitar player. The distortion sound is shit. It's ugly and how could you gig and keep changing settings? It's not a functional guitar. Utter waste of development money. It should have been put into quality control.

  • what are the songs he is playing :o they sound amazing. unless he wrote them :o WHAO

  • There are obviously some nostalgic guitarists in Obama's posse, that also hate what the once noble and historic Gibson guitar company has now become!!!...The secret has now been revealed!...The Firebird X is the REAL reason the feds are crawling up the ass of Gibson!...that guitar is an abomonation!...R.I.P Les...sorry about the mess!

  • That giant fat guy makes the guitar look tiny. Not digging the guitar by the way.

  • it soounds like an adhd bug having sex at 8:09

  • the distortion sounds like a a really adhd bug having sex

  • It's a guitar with a pedal board built in. lol

  • I wonder how many of these things really sold?????????

  • next there gonna make a guitar with a t.v screen in the back with wirless internet connection... i mean cmon this is all stupid what happened to those pure old gibson and epiphone days

  • I don't see the problem in trying to innovate, but Gibson should make instruments that WON'T be outdated within 10 years time.

Also, don't bash the player. He's good. Probably better than most of the haters here.

  • @ccrholland I agree that the problem isn't innovation. My problem is for the price they sell this for you could get a better guitar, amp, and effects, and still have left over.

  • So gay

  • i dont see the fucking point in this thing..... good player though!

  • how did this pass any design meetings? It looks like elephant man's dick.

  • @strwy2hvn94 the design isn't half that bad its the fake shitsound that is horrible

  • @laiholapso nope. It looks terrible. For one thing, why did they use a maple neck with weird greyish-abalone blocks?

  • @strwy2hvn94 yes the exicution is terrible but the shadow line is quite alright

  • My Studio Les Paul sounds better.

  • its ugly. ITS FUCKING UGLY. I cant express that enough, there is not a word to express my hate for such an ugly guitar and why`d they make it kiddie sized!? I wish i could roundhouse kick the fag who thought of its design.

  • 4:48

wheeew i am way too awesome

  • Big deal, they put a bacon and eggs inside a first act...wow and it's only 5500 dollars, I'll take 3 of them! They will sell like 3 of these, 2 to Bill Gates and one to a stolen credit card in Des Moines

  • why wouldnt they get someone whos good to play?

  • Hahahahahaha you gotta be fucking kidding me with this pile of shit

  • Frank is a stand-up guy and a great player, and Gibson is an American institution. Unfortunately, digital guitars and digital effects, IMHO, sound crappy. Give me analog effects any day of the week. I know digital is easier to work with and "new school," but all you have to do is listen to classic bands from the 1960's and 70's to hear what good tone is all about.

  • and probably one they can afford too.

  • Great. now make it a solid ash body with 4 knobs 3 volume and one tone with a 5 way selector and a switch to turn the neck pickup on regardless of the setting take out the auto guitar tuning and computer robot crap and throw in locking tuners and you have a guitar that people will want to buy.

  • I'll tell you what, Gibson guitars are shitty. I have owned a Gibson Les Paul, and it never stayed in tune even after I spent lots of money to get it set up and strung properly and tested. I hated it. I now own a Fender Thinline AV90 Tele and I would trade it in for anything. I have a Line 6 Pod HD, and it sounds so much better than this piece of crap. And let's not forget, it can tune itself....WTF. How lazy are people getting anyway?

  • I had a $300 Vox modeling amp and a strat I got for $60 at a pawnshop that can do all this lol.

  • @JohnRiffler thats neat, i played it too. total piece of shit with maybe 1 or 2 usable tones

  • sick guitar

  • more frank jones

  • The concept and price put it up against a James Tyler Variax with a Line6 HD seriesamp. And Gibson loses. And it is blasphemy to call it a Firebird. Wrong headstock and not even true to the nonreverse body style. But Frank Johns is a kick ass picker.

  • Just goes to show how gibson doesnt care about what the consumer wants they are just putting a bunch of high priced crap out there! This is the worst idea for a gibson since the hendrix model

  • I don't know if it's the tone of the guitar, or the poor audio from the video source, but the distortion sounds terrible - like the distortion on a Crate practice amp.

  • I hate it, like a cheap toupee.

  • that tone at 3:18 made me wanna kill myself...

  • @ZakkHendrix666 this guitar is a abomination and all the tones and sounds suck!

  • You'd probably lose your good ear for letting your guitar tune itself. Its a huge progress of technology but id rather be with a traditional electric

  • пиздато чел хуярет на гитарчике xD

  • PLUS its SOO fucking UGLY

  • so EVERY TIME you want to CHANGE a sound your right hand will be away from the strings.... hahahahahahaha -----> FAIL

  • i LOVE the shape of this guitar, i just HATE how it looks, Gibson really has defiled the sanctity of having an axe that requires a skilled player to create its tone.

  • its cool technology but theres something very artificial about the tonality

  • fucking stupid

  • @JohnRiffler i actually got to play this guitar before i came out to the public and it is an interesting piece of shit. please don't say anything good about it. it's literally a waste of 4000 dollars.

  • зря драм машину не встроили. А ещё круто-мп3 плеер,можно не играть даже.

  • Impressive instrument.

    Great player, too!

  • The effects sound kind of cheap and digital. I'm a bit disappointed by that.

  • meh- I just can't stomach Gibson after they whined when they got caught using endangered wood. They are scumbags.

  • This looks like shit and its vastly overpriced. Gibson apparently can't do anything right nowadays.

  • The effects sound pretty cheap. I wouldn't really have a problem with that, but for the price they're selling it for I could get a better guitar and better effects and still have left over. There's amps anyways that can give you simple effects out of the box for cheaper too.
