@dollarcraft i believe you, got a whole lot of the same pumpking lanterns for halloween and 1/5 of them hadnt been made properly and i had to throw them, it was still a bargain with all the broken ones considering they normally cost $5 in a smaller size!
LOL definitely bought that tripod, mine held up for a little while. About the amount of time you'd expect a $1 tripod to hold up. If u are in a pinch and desperately need one to use until you can buy a better one, the dollar store tripod is ok. Otherwise, like u said, it's garbage!
I actually bought one of these tripods back in 2008... and while it was a piece of crap... it's actually helped me make a decent amount money. I used it with my little Flip camera to record a tutorial, but it kept falling over... so I had to duct tape it to my table & tape the legs so they wouldn't collapse... and got it to work. haha That tutorial still sells today, and every time it does, I remember that poor lil cheap tripod taped to my table. lol
RE: the tripod: I only used it with my tiny videocam (a Kodak zi6 - comparable to a Flip), so I really thought it would work. I've had a small tripod like this in the past, but it was like $5, so it must have just been a little higher quality.
My sons like playing with the tripod legs now, though! :)
I bought one of those tripods about a year and a half ago and I love it! Thanks for your delightful cheapie crafts. I haven't made any, yet, but looking at all the ideas makes me so happy!

There is no way you could show everything "not to buy" at the dollar store in 48 seconds. I believe YouTube has a limit on timed videos.

@trinketbox1 Ha ha, good point. I'll have to make a few more videos. :) These are the things I caught on tape in one visit.

I am shocked about the tripod! It's the only one I've ever owned, and I love it! I mean, I know it's not fancy, but it gets the job done!
